Just awesome..I'm genuinely very excited with all this early news on the direction of TW series. This could be the golf game of all golf games and one I will be looking out for more than any other game this year.

There is a lot of GREAT stuff that was released today. I have a feeling that the realism is going to be taken up a notch with the addition of the USGA license which will include the U.S. Open, but also includes the USGA rule book.
Weather affecting the fairways and greens is probably my favorite new feature in the game, mainly because the course will hardly ever play the same.

The new presentation and dynamic weather are what I am looking forward to most from this blog. Can't wait for TW10.

I doubt you will hear anything regarding the PC version for the forseeable future. It is coming, but it is not as far along as the console versions. But what they are working on is pretty darn cool IMO.....

That's unfortunate considering the last PC version came out way back in 2007. I'm all for EA taking their time and giving us the best PC version possible, but you'd think they'd be further along by now. Releasing it after the console versions will only hurt the sales. I for one am going to pass on Xbox 360 version this year and purchase it for PC instead. I doubt the majority will have that patience though. That's probably what EA is banking on given the current state of the video game industry.

Updates have been great so far and dynamic weather is a great step forward. (Hopefully that will include variable "gusts" of wind.)

To make this game PERFECT, they'd not only have a USGA rules guy there, but they'll actually give us USGA options on ball drops. For example, a lateral water hazard (red stake) gives you several ball drop options. A regular water hazard (yellow stake) gives you more -- including being able to "pick your distance" along the line where the ball crossed and the flag.

Also would be cool to pick where you can tee the ball in the tee zone.

Finally, it would be great if the "lie" was better defined to include degree of uphill/downhill. (Sidehill is obvious, but because of graphic limitations, it's not always clear when you have a downhill lie -- which would reduce loft on your club and add distance.)

I must say, all of this should have been implimented ages ago. EA, have a monopoly on this genre and have gotten lazy, putting no real effort into making this the best game they can year in, year out, its just turned into a money making exercise. The extra additions are welcomed, but whats the point if the game is ravaged with bugs like the last one? Here's a small sample of a few i've picked up on:
1) Awful commentry; the timing is always miles out and often well wide of whats actually just happened
2) Viewing angles; blocked views, unable to see surrounding trees, not following ball on drives etc etc
3) Unable to check score card while others take their shots
4) Bad collision detection; floating balls, jerky balls, bouncing off trees that aren't there etc
5) Poor crowd; more people is good, but whats the point if they all do the same thing at the same time?
6) People using super-suits in multi-player; is this not classed as cheating?
7) Poor graphics; the game is hardly processor intensive, they should be close to photo-realistic
Game face; is this intentionally difficult to set up?
9) Online stats; never get updated
10) The list goes on
Seriously, I still enjoy playing this game, but if another big software company like Activision or someone decided to design their own golf game and make it the best they could, it would blow this away no problem, they spend too much money on naming rights and not enough on game design.

Yep 74,you'll be able to use either Dynamic weather or manually set it.

Well I definitely have to say that the usual suspects that I know who play Tiger are VERY excited with what has been released so far.

With weather being announced, I hope the devs listened to me down at Tiburon when I asked to have 50 MPH winds and heavy rain at Carnoustie for one Daily Tournament. You can thank me if that happens

Woah, THAT will be EXTREME. At the end of the day those are the sort of winds that go on at Carnoustie, it certainly wouldn't be unrealistic.

If that happens Huskers don't forget I know where you live...lol
