Just wanted to make the link clickable for ya.

If this is a real photo, then that is really cool, and I am extremely excited. It's been a long time since a Ferrari has been in a Need For Speed game.

Edit: Here's the pic also.

That's not Shift I'm afraid. It's Slightly Mad Studios untiled Ferrari-licensed sim, which uses their engine much like Shift does. That screen's probably well over a year old now, but here's the rest:

Latest word is that it's still alive, no idea when it's being released though. But who knows, they may have managed to get the licensing worked out for Shift as well.

NEED FOR SPEED SHIFT is based in a part on the development of ferrari project, game who's abondoned following the financial difficulties of the publisher 10tacle. until now it was about re-using the graphic and physic engine, but it would seem that the licenses are also transferable. if you know franche, you should go to nfs-mania.com cause i fond the information there ...

There's no truth to that, other than the fact that both game's are using the same engine. Just a couple of weeks ago the Ferrari project was confirmed to be still alive in an interview with the founder of Slightly Mad Studios. At the end of the day the people at nfs-mania have just taken a year old screen of a different game and slapped the NFS logo on it. Nobody knows just yet whether we'll see Ferraris or not.

Lake its ok, because at least we know what it would look like if we did have a Ferarri in there. It also gives us a chanec to speculate. Don't shoot Lake down, he could have opened up peoples imaginations on what we could do to a Ferarri.

define ''what we could do to a ferrari'', sarcross. Because if you're thinking of modyfing its looks, engine, adding nitro etc. That aint gonna happen. Why do you think we didnt see ferrari in nfs ever since underground? It was a part of NFS from the very begining in 1994! They dont want to see their cars destroyed with nitro, body modification, etc. But if shift is more of a visual modification game (like color, vinyls, spoilers, etc) then there's a possibility in having Ferrari cars ingame.

It seems to me like you think that everybody has a '92 Civic in their driveway with a 3ft cardboard spoiler and a coffee can muffler. If you don't watch Le Mans GT1/2 Races, you should, maybe you'd get an idea of what "we could do to a Ferarri."

See? And Outlaw was so helpful again. Tell me Outlaw, when were you last helpful?

Anyways, I'm sure there were other reasons that Ferrari didn't license their cars to EA then visual modifications. Although I'm really not sure what they were.

It should be noted that Shift has been noted as being primarily simulator in basis. For a more 'NFS' feeling game that people will have to play either World Online or Nitro. Either of which may very well come out for PS3/Xbox 360. And of course we still have the fourth, currently undiscussed, game in the wings. I doubt there'll be much visual modification to the cars. It's unlikely that we'll come across autosculpt or bolt on bumpers (ewww, I hate bolt on body parts) in the game. There may be some limited rim and spoiler choices but I wouldn't bet on it. There certainly will be decals, minor vinyls, and paint choices though.

Remember this game is supposed to revitalize the series...not perpetuate what half of us loved and half of us didn't. It'll take the same path as Underground did from it's predecessors. Because that's the best way to ensure multiple games in the future.

wow..amazing! THere actually might be a chance of having ferrari in shift! Now I know they let their cars get customized with vinyls, paint, etc. and spoilers. Thats terrific!

That's interesting speculation actually. I was aware of that Ferrari pic from ages ago when it was thought it was part of the Ferrari Project, as someone found the pics on Blimey!'s website. However when they officially unveiled the Ferrari pics that F430 with flames coming out WASN'T included any more... perhaps it was a Shift pic revealed by accident!

Does the F430 have an undertray like that anyway?
