Its unbelievable. They are giving us cars to rent, but we already have all those cars. In begining they F...ed all cos this game should have been free from start. And now they F...ed all those payed, all fans that tryed to help EA to build this game.

Hi,

1st, I feel the pain of all the users who paid to get the advantage over the ones who didn't.

I am one who didn't pay, but downloaded today. I do play another p2p mmo and am happy with it (wow), although I would feel extremely peed off not because I bought the media for the game, but also the monthly sunscription - i see that as an investment to my entertainment, and has served me well.

I anticipate that paid users do continue to play the game, as it will give us all a nice challenge, and generate fun - heck i have nfi how to play it... yet but I will over time and would be willing to pay for play time if it ever steers that way.

I am speculating that there will be a major patch update soon enough to address a number of issues, and maybe this thread may delay that patch to accommodate some of the views.

I do hope that who ever is in control, or possibly been passed the buck to a management team, of this decision becomes concious that the users who did pay would anticipate something distinguishable for their good faith and loyalty to the franchise.

I do not believe having things that change game mechanics would be ideal, as, as stated before if the decision to be f2p attracts '000's of new players who express an interest to be commited to the game as the paid for users, they would most likely be the 1st to depart. Although, having things that only paid for users could have (as I said, i know little about NFS:W) that do distinguish them from the free to play accounts, I would suggest (as a wow term) an epic item that has a slight advantage over the free drivers. or even (as in wow) an hierloom item which upgrades it self as you level. I know my terminology is not quite right, but if I knew that once the dust settled I got a new"someting special" that gives me some advantage to something in the game (besides game mechanics) , then it may persuade me (if I was frustrated) to continue playing a game I already chose to pay for, for my enjoyment.

I am also of the firm belief that if such items do become available in subsequent patches then the free to play people really REALLY *REALLY* need to grind it so that it is not something the paid for drivers feel like is a cheap gift... iykwim...

anyway, these are just my views, and am looking forward to learning a new game all over with you all!!!

After reading all these messages, I'm starting to feel that the people who purchased the starter pack are already getting the most important thing (in addition to the $20 worth of Boost, free car, powerups and Network Priority status they already got) more players to race against on high level tracks.

jsskppnn, I dont agree with you.
Crowded tracks will be now even more crowded. This will not fix the poor matchmaking system and rep reward strategy.

I dont agree with you.

Crowded tracks like Lincoln Blv will be now even more crwoded and longer track will be still empty.
This move was easy to make but will not fix the poor matchmaking system and rep reward strategy.

How about instead of a lame 7 day car rental, why not?:

- x1 Gold Slip (Purchase any of your desired car for free)
- Additional +10 driver skill points
- Free +10lvl boost. *Lvl 50 drivers gets $1m instead*

Now this is what i called, "Rewarding"...

I dont rent cars.... its not that it costs RL money to do so, i just feels cheap to me... i would MUCH rather have a choice of one of those 3 cars to KEEP rather than 3 rentals ill prolly never use

Dear EA shareholder!

I write you in despair, because some of the responsible brains working on NFS World fail to establish what I call - a succesful partnership!

You gave me - and others - the impression, that there is a need for this starterpack to continue at all and it may not be chargeable in front of a court, but it surely lacks honesty.

I ask you to reconsider the way you say "thank you" or we shall reconsider our approach. You might as well create some "fool"-vinyls to express your feelings for your paying customer!

with sincerity,
Sir Winalot!

Fail at being a spindoctor.

1. Free players got $5 worth of boost too, didn't they? So we only got $15 worth of boost by buying the Starter Pack.

2. That free car has no extra stats so it's quite useless anyway.

3. Those few powerups are quite marginal.

4. EA or BlackBox would have known they were going to make the game Free2Play... So why did EA try to get more people into buying the Starter Pack with a discount anyway? Trying to grab some money while you could?
If you did that on the stock market, you'd be arrested for acting with insider knowledge.
I'll ask some guys I know what the fine is for that too...

5. A good compensation for the Starter Pack owners would be something EXCLUSIVE. And no, that lame VIP vinyl is not enough. Either an exclusive car (like a Tier 3 or 4 that is yet to be released) or some exclusive package for when the new type of engine tuning arrives...
