better graphics, guns as well as everything look, sound, and operate better. bigger and better maps. just an overall better presentation.

Gotta admit. I wish the graphics for BFBC1 were the same as BFBC2, but I just love the way BFBC1 plays, it seems more fun.

just got this and bfbc2 to get off the call of duty bandwagon, the matches i've played i've not done so well so if anyone has any noob tips send them my way. Thanks in advance

I agree 100%. If I sat here and elaborated on the exact reasons why I'd have to write a novel. The point is Bad Company was just a much better overall game than Bad Company 2 is.

Perhaps they tried to get too diabolical in Bad Company 2 and ended up losing the true game play essence that made Bad Company such an excellent game.

I guess in the end it all just boils down to money, it isn't the hardcore fans the corporations are worried about. They want that huge 12 year old fanbase. A bunch of useless options that dresses up the game.

Its pretty simple man. You have to just unlearn everything you learned on COD. You have to realize it isn't all about your reflexes and skills with shooting that will have you do well. You have to think, beware your surroundings and play smart.

I've played BC2 a fair amount and just started with BC1.

??? BC1 has better graphics ??? They are murkier in BC1 and it isn't just 'fog of war'. The details on uniforms are not as clear/detailed and the faces, esp. on singleplayer campaign, aren't as well rendered/developed as in BC2. The HUD display looks blockier, and isn't as high resolution. BC2 has better graphics overall.

BC2 has bullet drop. This is more sophisticated and makes is harder for wookies to get headshots from across the map.

BC2 has a greater variety of weapons. Variety lets players refine their strategy based on the situation. Also the guns sound cooler. For example, no smoke GL's in BC1.

BC2 really nerfed the pump shotguns. In BC1, a pump shotgun wins 99 percent of the time over an AR at close range. I mean, they both shoot bullets. The shotgun should have a close range advantage but not that much.

BC2 has destruction 2.0. It is far from perfect. But I mean, come on, buildings should collapse when they look like swiss cheese.

I am not trying to hate on BC1. If I were to say that BC1 is better, it would be because the maps feel larger, have more terrain features like rivers, huge fields, etc, and sometimes have more vehicles going on. I like some of the 'hardcore' aspects in BC1 like the fact that health doesn't automatically regenerate, there are teamkills, and that when your teammate runs over you in his tank you get *ing RUN OVER. It's frustrating the first time that happens, but afterwards you are more aware of this realistic hazard.

I also am beginning to like the lack of pistols for all classes. It seems more realistic that you can't whip out a .45 in a 1/2 second flat, and it requires more careful attention to what is left in your clip.

bad company 1 = the best there is , the best there was , and the best there ever will be!

I prefer BFBC over BFBC2 because of the "humour". I played BFBC2 before but when I tried BFBC I was kinda amused by the fact you can have a warfare going on a golf course. And gotta love those smiling pins hanging from the grenades and the amazing Radio Spirit.

BFBC2, while having better multiplayer aspect and more feature, kinda lacked of the humour the first one had.

Both are great games, overall!

I think Bad Company 2 is much more polished but Bad Company 1 had way better maps.

Bad Company 1 is my favourite FPS ever :

- Surprisingly great campaign with huge maps, witty dialogue and funny storytelling.

- Awesome multiplayer : you have to be careful about your health, ammount of ammo and not killing or rolling over members of your team. All of these should be in every FPS games out there!

- capture picture feature is (was? ) great. I like to share pics with friends.

I agree. The original is by far the best. I was pumped when it came out. I played the crap out of the beta and it seemed like the perfect squad based online military shooter had finally arrived on next gen consoles. Then they started patching it into unplayability and instead of fixing it, they cranked out another one. BC2 is inferior in so many ways. I never even took it online. Watching my brother play at his house was enough to know it wasn't for me. With the release of BF3, the franchise has turned into a COD wannabe.

I just wish there were more opportunities for me to finish getting all the awards for the first one. Oh well, I'm busy with Skyrim and SSX these days. Plus the warm weather is coming, and with it, the gaming season ends.

The original BC1 is an acquired taste though. I love the original for humor and over the top MP at times but there's NO doubt Bad Company 2 MP interface is far more streamlined and better. Unfortunately it loses the humor and charm of what made the original a breath of fresh air for shooters so it's a love it or hate it relationship.

I enjoy both games but BC2 is a better game in many aspects.
