After the death of Pontiac, I knew this question would arise. Chevelle SS would be better, I think. Camaro should never have 4 doors. Do like the design, though ...

Considering that GM needs to reduce the number of brands (or as I call them models) that it has on the roster.
I give a resounding HELL NO.
The Camaro is a pony car/muscle car depending on the engine you fit it with. (5.7L is the largest that a pony car can have as defined by how pony cars came about.)
The Challenger is either a pony car or muscle car depending once again on the engine.
And the Mustang is definitely a pony car.
None of them are sedans. The Malibu is a sedan. The Fusion or Taurus are sedans. The Sebring is a sedan. The Charger while isn't bad as a sedan would have been more popular as a two door four seater. And would have allowed Chrysler and Daimler to cash in on the pony car/muscle car resurrection much sooner.
Anyways, the G8 and Malibu are much too close in likeness to be able to support both models on an ongoing basis. A Malibu SS with nicer than usual interior and meatier engine would be a wiser move. Especially when it's in the same group as a worthwhile hybrid. It would start to show the flexibility of GM frames to tuner heads if one car had both engine options.

I think this is a rather silly question. The G8 already is a Camaro SS Sedan. They are both Australian based Zeta platform cars with the G8 GXP and Camaro SS boasting the same 6.2L LS3. Regardless of the badge, a GM is a GM.

It can't be called a camaro though. It looks nothing like the new camaro. Call it a nova. Don't ruin the chevelle name. And Yes I'm all about Ford but I do like the early chevelles.

It would be a bad idea for the g8 gxp to be a camaro ss. the camaro was never a sedan, and I dont think it ever will. the camaro is a pony/musle car. the g8 gxp is a more practial verson of a musle car. but that dosent mean they should be morphed in to a strange half g8, half camaro. that would be very stupid of them. thay must be very desprate at ths point if that are doing this.
but if you think about it for a seconmd, it may make sence. people who own the g8 might have somthing to trade in now
