Moving to the net, and along the baseline?  XML

Hello everyone,

So the biggest problem with regular Wii Tennis is that you have no control over the player. You just have to swing. In this game, am I going to be able to go to the net when I want, and go from one side of the court to the other when I want. Is that what the whole MotionPlus thing is doing? Or is that strictly going to affect my swing...?

Looking forward to your answers.

Thanks,
AJ

Yes you can move your player about using the nunchuk and u can also use the wiimote by pressing up on the dpad to go up to the net. Hope that answers ur question

That was me who posted as anonymous..didn't even realize you could post without being logged in

That said all i need is for multiple control schemes like Sega Super star tennis....im fine with motion controls but when i want to play seriously i'd prefer buttons and the chuck, better margin of error

It looks like the "easy" (non-nunchuk) method of gameplay may move the player according to the shot being attempted. In the demo videos, for example, it looks like positioning the Wii remote for a forehand return on an obvious shot to the backhand results in a "run-around" forehand (Federer's trademark shot).

Basically here is how it works...

Non-Nunchuk - Computer moves around for you you perform the shots and you can also decide when you want to go up to the net by pressign up on the dpad.

W./Nunchuk - You control how the player moves and are able to perform the shots..

Do we know if the nunchuck can be plugged into the end of the motion plus (i.e., control player movement and still have motion plus)?

Yep, you can do that. MotionPlus has a plug in at the bottom of the device for the nunchuck.

Thanks, that's good to know. (In hindsight, it would've been a little silly if Nintendo had done otherwise.)
