UPDATED WITH YOUTUBE VIDEO

Im not sure of many of you but here is a video that just made we want to bring this up...I have noticed that boardplay this yr has really fixed the suction issue towards the right direction, but i think they might have created a bug or something out of it...in nhl10 when you hold the BP button, BP would always happen (in the right position of course), it seems now in nhl11 that there are many instances that it doesnt occur due to their polishing of this feature...but here is a video of how it is not initiating properly..this needs to be patched because its very annoying when you are trying to do something and nothing happens...and just to note, this is OFFLINE PLAY so there is no online lag ro spike to reset or cut my pressing of the button.

boardplay should have happened...

what is your strength? Strength now plays a role in this. If you have low strength it is harder to do this

Strength does.

Also it seems boardplay is a bit delayed this year or slower should i say. I dunno. But i've never had that happen to me in that vid.

I feel like almost all the buttons are buggy.

Sometimes my guy wont lift his arm going for a check, i just skate by.
The hipcheck click dosnt work and i skate by.
The boardplay button wont trigger and the guy skates away.

Once in every 20-25 tries the button wont work.

Being second is to be the first of the ones who lose.

that might be a reason but as you see, i have ADAMS who is a grinder trying to boardplay SEDIN who is a euro (HAHA) and clearly my momentum is going into him while he is totally stopped picking up the puck and trying to go the opposite direction...i should have won and boardplay should have initiated.

Were you aiming toward the board when trying your boardplay ? My guess is that you didn't and I think it would explain why you failed.

Hey TS

Anyone trying to argue against here is just blind I guess. It's pretty obvious that the board play is significantly harder to initiate in comparison to board play from NHL 10. I suspect the reason they changed this was because it was possible to be "cheap" by going in and out of board play repeatedly while skating up the ice. They'll get rid of that, but leave oh so many of the other "cheap" things in the game, of course.

This is the answer.

Happens with passing, checking and boardplay more so than other buttons.

More like once every 40-45 times though if you ask me, slightly more common with boardplay.

I think you need to realize that EA is trying to make this game as realistic as possible.

DO players who wanna board play get to board play every single time in the real NHL?

NO of course not, thats the one thing you guys gotta realize is that EA is trying to make this game more realistic

I wanna go top corner all the time but does that happen?

No my shots sometimes hit the goalie in the chest

seems pretty realistic to me

If the tie-up registered but was not successful (very short duration) I'd agree with you. Fact of the matter is, it's not registering it at all, despite there being model to model contact. That's a bug.

They're not doing so great at the whole realism thing though. I mean, it's definitely better then it was. How many times have you seen an AI player make a ridiculous (either not possible, or totally unnecessary) animation attempt, like a defenceman catching a clearing slapshot.

Board play happens a lot in real hockey. The corners are notorious for it, and it's a key part of cycling the puck (realistic offense) which is generally unheard of in this game.

It's frustrating when 3 of my players are ganging up on one player on the boards and that one players still gets away with the puck.

Another thing ....

AFTER A BOARD play .... and when I come out of it ... I CANT make a pass .... the buttons seems never respond to my pass ?!

THIS NHL11 IS VERY FRUSTRATING IN ALOT OF POINTS !

I agree.

Also have noticed that AI does not have any issues to initiate boardplay:

http://www.easports.com/media/play/video/42521055 (my player is with puck)

Look at 0:03... I guess this AI player has Suction Attribute atleast 150 and believe or not, I did not initiate any boardplay, just tried to skate ahead .
