cem_ea_id.Chezrockwell wrote:to who ever said prone is the most important stance in a fire fight has obviously never been in one. I am speaking from how Marines operate as I was in the Corps for 5 years and I don't remember ever being prone, except for ambushes. yes you gain a very stable platform to shoot with, hence why when we qualify we shoot from the 300 and the 500 in it, but it is not practical to use closer than that as you lose mobility. and I know that it gives the smallest profile/silhouette, but it is not practical in modern combat where speed wins and complacency kills. Most combat since the last gulf war, besides between tanks, has happened closer than 200 meters. Marines are trained to close with and destroy the enemy through the use of fire and maneuver. Prone doesn't give the chance for very much maneuverability. Even my brother who was an SDM in Afghanistan didn't spend much time in the prone, unless he was on overwatch, or ambushes. In maneuver warfare, prone has no position, except in a defensive role, last I checked this game was focusing on fast paced play, not setting up a bivouac, but what would I know I am a dumb Marine....
Thank you for sharing as these nerds want to be Marines but dare not and so want to prone hide and pretend (game) to be Marines or SAS (I'm a Brit) no SAS or Marine would camp a tank on range edge for so long as these nerds do. They will find the exploits of the game no matter what poor Dice make them. This Game is amazing the 3d models are superb and I for one am very gratefull to the people at Dice for making such an amzing game enviroment and I ask you the players to start and ignore whinning campers and say thank you to them for the work they do.
Go prone and dispear off the forum haha

of course the pace is going to be fast if the spawn points are behind people's backs. the way i see it, mw2 is an epic version of pacman.
That's an awesome analysis.
I play a lot of COD and I like BC2 exactly for it's change of pace. MW2 is not as fast paced as BC2, exactly because of campers. In MW2 you get tons of snipers laying prone somewhere or in an (indestructible) window and just waiting. And because your round in MW2 depends on getting a good streak going, it's really aggravating when some stupid sniper ends your streak just because you walked through the 20feet of space that he was watching.
In BC2, you can snipe. I don't care. It can help your team if you're a good sniper (teammate) and use your range to call out enemies. Plus the C4 is good against tanks and such as well. It's not as frustrating getting killed by someone who's using a legitimate strategy. In COD, getting killed by a sniper with dual 1887s and a claymore at the entrance is just frustrating and stupid. And that ruins the pace of the game.
