Just tried this for the first time tonight. The 30 second countdown between shots was interesting to say the least. Is that the standard amount of time when playing online or can you change that if you are the one creating the game?
If so, what are the options for time in regards to taking a shot?
Thanks for any info.

I believe the options are 10, 20 30, 40, 50, and 60 seconds with the shotclock for online unranked matches. I think ranked matches have fewer options.

Where do you go to change the timer?
I know the host has to change the timer but we still aren't sure where to change it....

I love the game but I wish you could turn off the simultaneous play and shot timer. I think their great for playing in tournaments or against strangers but when I'm playing against my friends I need time to grab a beer or two, answer the phone watch the kids, etc.. We also like to see each others golfers that we created so it would be cool to see them play but I guess EA didn't care for these options.
I am referring to the Wii version.
Is there a cheat code to turn them off
George

Plus, I think the point of simultaneous play is to play simultaneously... so making the game "longer" with more time between shots or a pause function would defeat the purpose of simultaneous play.
In lou of this I think making the game go as fast as possible is a good thing, and you cant set up for the perfect shot everytime... take a little skill and luck which makes it fun and exciting.

Thanks for the reply Bil.
I agree with all your points it's just that everyone I know spent so much time perfecting their profile and we think it would be cool to see each others golfers and to ridicule each other on bad shots, etc.. Almost like in real golf when we can enjoy it and not be rushed. It's not a showstopper for me but all my friends can't stand it and I would have to make sure I am prepaired before starting a game (lots of beer, no kids, no wife watching TV, etc..) since you know theirs no stopping. It's still a great game but like others said a simple On/Off switch would've made everyone happy since I see tons of post about this.

That blows that you can't change the time. I'm not looking for 2 minutes or something like that, but 30 seconds is awful quick when you are trying to play a casual round with buddies online.
If anyone comes up with a way to change the time, please let us know.

you can play regular stroke play instead of simultaneous... but the need for simul-play was great.. matches took too long watching everyone else shoot..

I agree, I wish on the Wii version you could AT LEAST set it to 60 seconds... it's avail on x360, why not on Wii when in Wii you actually have to swing the club! Since the only Wii options are simultaneous and Live Tournament, it seems silly to not give us a bit more time to shoot. My friends don't care if I'm sippin a beer before I putt etc... we should at least have the option to raise the timer or play a game with no timer

Just chiming in that this does really blow chunks.
Hopefully it will be added as a "feature" in TW11 for Wii.
