LEGACY MODE:

INTERVIEWS AND WIEGHT INS.

have 4 chosses humble, arogant, funny and agressive. the effect how your opponent fights you, how the fans like you, and the respect you gain from peers. do interviews in papers and magazines before and after fights (including pics taken from the 100's of cameras flashing ring side.

COMMENTRY

have commenters vaugly refrance past fights i.e coming of a devestating KO win, is always dangerous on the inside just ask ________ or somthing along those lines.

SPONSERSHIP

decide who you sponser and (again) it may effect your standing in the eyes of your peers/fans. i.e wearing all lonsdale into the ring - ok doing an ad for big mac - BAD and kinda brings me on to my next point.

GYM

have the gym FULLY interactive. use money from sponsers/fights to get a bigger space, better equipment and better trainers. when your popularity goes up you can pick diffrant sparring partners to come to your gym.

SPARRING PARTNERS

they start of as young guns but grow into champions. as you age you'll spend less time on your own fight prep and more time building up you champs. itll also set up a good reason for rivial fights ect. it might sound stupid but i think it woud add realism and a way of building a legacy.

1.ACCIDENTAL CLINCHING ( USING PHYSICS)

2.TKO MOMENT( LIKE YOU GET A GUY HURT AND YOU PIN HIM TO A CORNER AND YOU JUST STAR WAILING ON HIM UNTIL THE REF STOPS IT.)

3.A RELIEVE, RECREATE, REDEFINE MOMENT AS A GAME MODE. LIKE WAT LEGENDS OF WRESTLEMANIA DID.

4.SMOOTHER FOOT WORK.

5. AND BETTER BOXER EMOTIONS.(LIKE FACIAL ANIMATIONS)

6. MAKE THE KNOCKDOWNS LIKE FIGHT NIGHT 2004!

7. MAKE YOUR FIGHTER HAVE A PERSONALITY, ARROGANT, WEIRD, FUNNY, DOWN THE EARTH, MAEAN in legacy mode

8. HAVE THE WHOLE PRESENTATION LIKE HBO. THE SAME COMMENTATORS, THE SAME PRESENTATION OVERALL. IF YOU CAN AFFORD IT.

9. LESS DLC PLEASE. PUT EVERYTHING YOU NEED IN THE FINAL GAME.

more camera modes.
this is a glaring step-back to the progression of the series, please give us the choice to view our fights either in 2d-tekken view or over the shoulder, closest to boxing view. the latter view is a big factor in a simulation fight, because seeing your foe with both their hands in the same screen is integral in boxing.

less bouncing-off-the-ropes KD animation
here's hoping this will get patched, rather than waiting for a DLC to be corrected.

dubious judging
if you're fighting in yer opponent's territory/city -- this should incorporate BAD JUDGING system

hit-on-the-body jiggle
like the hit-on-the-face jiggle, only it's on the body.

blocking on the move

make it so that while i'm blocking my speed isn't hampered, just because you're blocking doesnt' necessarily mean you have to slow down, if the user wants to lunge in, then lunge out while blocking he shouldn't have to be hampered by lowered speed.

clinching and pushing
while clinching, you should be able to push, shove, or circle around -- to get out of tight corners. able to maneuver while clinched should sap stamina more than ever, it's a part of boxing that's never been explored in a videogame and would love to see it emulated in this series.

clinching and punching
while clinched, you should be able to bunny/hook your opponent with yer one hand, while holding the foe's back head with the other.

able to STICK and HOLD the jab hand out
for measuring and for touching gloves (not my idea, forgot what thread it was).

match the ingame fighter's GRUNTS to its real boxer counterparts
because there's nothing like an atmosphere breaker than hearing the ingame voice of Pacquiao grunting and sounding like some o'l white dude

footwork
able to choose a type of control scheme where the Leftstick is sensitive to movement. if you move it real slow, the fighter's walk warily, if the stick is pushed all the way the fighter should be dancing, if it's quickly pushed -- the fighter hops/lunge (perfect for in and out outboxing). right now the fighters are not really gaining enough grounds to be like real life boxing and still promotes a slugfests that we all hated in fn3.

career mode:

have ingame fighting replay highlights of your past bouts, and of your upcoming opponents (this would be doable as it is only highlights)

have amateur SLEEVELESS shirts during your amateur stints, right now they're shirtless

able to choose what glove sizes to fight with in sparring sessions

able to wear gym clothes (sweat pants, shirts, etc.) in training mode instead of the very same trunks you wear in your bouts, i myself is a big proponent in laundered and varied wears

have more CAB creations

have real-life like injuries, broken bones, cuts, death? even...

I could get carried away. For me more boxers gives the game added depth. Of course there should be little fixes/patches and improvements that can be done as future add ons for the game.

Personally, I'm a big fan of the heavyweight division. And Rooster and I put in a lot of detail and analysis into a thread about the Classic Heavyweight champions. Getting them right would be important. Trying to perfect their styles and make the classic boxers come to life in Fight Night Round 4 would be a delight. There are tons of Heavyweight fans that have captured audiences and people for ages. The heavyweight division has always be a sign and crown of the toughest and most celebrated man on the planet. They're have been periods where a fighter came along that defined a time period and generation for fight fans and the average people a like. The big trend started with the Manassa Mauler, Jack Dempsey. He can arguably be called the most celebrated and popular boxer there ever was for his time. A time when he broke the million dollar purse and electrified audiences packed with people. Jack Dempsey was our first celebrity boxer and a terrific devastating fighter he was. The original Tyson and one of the first bob & weavers that moved their heads and launched into an attack.

The next fighter that meant everything for democracy and America was Joe Louis. Louis captured audiences both white and black. He was involved in one of the political boxing matches of all time. Louis as a boxer was one of the most technically proficient fighters we've ever seen. Arguably the greatest heavyweight of all time. Easily the most balanced heavyweight fighter there ever was. Joe defined America for the 30's and 40's being the first true "Jackie Robinson."

A man who defined the 50's and was a captivating fighter for his heart and determination was Marciano. Marciano was a part of a simple time. Marciano was the hardest working heavyweight fighter. He trained and trained. The Rock was a knockout artist. Small but with deadly power. Great stamina and terrific heart. The only undefeated fighter of all time. Even with 83 being a max in stamina for a heavyweight, Marciano would be the one to deserve to break that cap. Rocky trained and trained on months end even for lesser opponents. Strong and incredibly hard hitting he was and Marciano. Punched strong from round 1 to 15 and his display battle with the great Ezzard Charles shows that stamina onto to display as his punches and shows incredibly stamina in an epic fight. Marciano is a fighter that means a lot to people for a lot of reasons. A true American story. Work and win!

These are 3 fighters that we look into for their significance and impact. And of course being the classic and incredible boxers they are. Rooster and I put a lot of time into making an important thread and I do think it would be awesome having these 3 great heavyweight champions in the game through DLC. Please take a look. Thank you.

Here's the thread: http://forum.ea.com/eaforum/posts/list/0/247190.page#2375740

My Views On DEFENCE

MOVING WHILE WEAVING have a modifier possibly L1+L2 that lets you lean back while Leaning back.

BLOCKING have blocking semi automated ie. without holding anybuttons the hands are in a higher position therefore blocking a small % of damage. Also, IMO the block meter should go down much slower and replenish much slower.

DEFENCIVE FOOTWORK 1/4 circle turns should be preformed on the L1 as a 7 to 3 (on a clock face) and 1/2 cirlce turns as 8 to 3 (on a clock face_. i also dont feel positions should be locked ie. when im inside it takes a whild to walk into the outside range.

PUCHNING FROM BLOCK holding R1 and preforming a hook should leave one hand up to protect his exposed side. once again it wouldnt be as effective as a full block but still.

Public Meter - Dynamic Matches
I ain’t developed the idea 100% but I will try to break it down what I have in mind. The reason for this feature would be that only winning fights doesn’t mean you can fight everybody you want.

Either you should be able through your promoter (which is another topic) or through interviews to call out other fighters. Calling somebody out starts a meter in percent with the called out boxer. Only because you call out the fighter who is probably on top doesn’t mean that he will fight you. You have to be successful and start to rise in stardom. The more successful you become the higher the meter will climb. At 60% most of the public will be interested in it and the chance of PPV sales would be between 50.000 - 100.000. At 70% the public will start to demand it and it’s also possible to have slight success as a PPV (between 100.000 and 175.000). At 80% the fight is an absolute must happen. PPV garanteed (between 175.000 - 400.000) and if the fighter still won’t fight you he will loose some of his earned popularity. Media is going to start questioning him. The meter though still grows as long as both continue to be successful. If it reaches 90% this is really something like Leonard-Hearns, Ali-Frazier etc. a fight that ppl will remember for a long time and also a legacy focus point. If you win you will be remebered as a great for it if you loose it hurts twice (ask DLH *smile*).

The same happens to you if you a more known. Boxers will call you out and start a meter with you. The called out one is always the one who decides if and when but is also in danger of loosing some popularity if he ’’ducks’’ for too long.

Body Meter
This all comes down to have an appreciation for the way your fighting. Every body gets older and simply can’t progress at a time anymore. But if you do it randomly for everybody the same it’s simply unfair to master defensive boxers who don’t get hit but have the same body regress as fighters who have a brawl in every fight they fight. Fighters who fight ’’healthy’’ should have a longer career or at least should have their skills longer then take 3 punches to land 1 fighters.

Probably three parts: Green, Yellow and Red. Green means that physical progress is still possible and after wars your body can still heal pretty fast. Yellow means you can still progress physical to a degree but your body will need more time to heal. If you reach the red part physical progress won’t be possible anymore. Your chin will get weaker and wars will really take a lot out of your body and regress your skills even more. Probably time to retire. Some will reach the point probably with 28 others with 38. It all depends on the way your fighting.

Records & Stats
Sports is always about winning championships and records. It would be nice to have a lot of records in the game. Records like: Title defenses in a weight class and overall, longest raining champion in a weight class and overall, youngest champion in an weight class and overall, multidivisional champs etc. Otherwise you only fight for reaching your goals which can get pretty boring and also goals always have these kind of they-choose-for-me-feel to it. Somebody would love to do something different but because he wants to become bigger he has to fight 30 fights first? With records in it you could also decide to become the best Middleweight boxer of all times and simply unify all titles. Defend them a record time etc.

Weight Classes
For Legacy Mode to have every weight class is essential. I mean if I want to move up as a Lightweight and want to become an 4 division champion I would have to become an Light Heavyweight champion. An probably 5’8 tall boxer should become an Light Heavyweight Champion? Show me one... especially with the physics engine and reach matters... it shouldn’t be possible.

ESPN?
It would be nice to have a weekly or a monthly boxing show in the game where topics of boxing gets discussed. For example showing highlights of a big fight... announcing of a new boxing match... a retirement... a boxer moves up in weight... a very talented amateur turns pro etc.

Natural Abilities
I would love for something like a star-rating. Some fighters simply are so talented that you already see it in their first and you know he’s gonna be something special (guys like Ray Leonard, Roy Jones etc.). The star rating doesn’t decide how good your fighter gets it only shows in which range of skill they fight in. I think it would be neccessary because I already seen JT included in Legacy Mode and he had a record of 22-5... and as long as you only sim matches between AI and AI the stars should help determine the winner.

****** - a once in a lifetime talent (super rare: Ray Robinson)
***** - all time great talent (rare: Muhammad Ali, Ray Leonard)
**** - best of their decade talent (Shane Mosley, Joe Calzaghe)
*** - good to very good pro talent (Kelly Pavlik, Joshua Clottey)
** - sparring partner to solid pro talent
* - bum to confidence builder talent

I also think that some stats should be edit-able right at the start. Things like handspeed a train-able to a degree but nobody with Margarito handspeed will develop into a Sugar Ray Leonard. Nobody with Malignaggi power will develop into an Thomas Hearns kind of puncher. Training should be really about getting in shape and sharp.

I haven’t developed the idea 100% but I think you will get what I mean. A 3 star fighter can beat an 5 star fighter but it shouldn’t happen every 2nd fight... probably once out of 10. The training has to play a role in it. If a greatly talented fighter doesn’t come in shape to fight he probably will loose against an 3 star fighter who is in the shape of his life.

Also it could change the dynamic of your career quite a bit. If you are a 3 star fighter it doesn’t mean you can’t become great. But the road should be tougher. Guys who are greatly talented simply get things easier. Faster title shots. More money. Better offers for fights. Get popularity more easily because they are known.

Not so talented guys have to fight harder to become known. Probably have to fight 40 fights to even get a title match... money is low... bad offers... not so much popularity.

A few Amateur things
Olympic Games... I read it almost everytime if somebody talks about the Amateur experience. I guess you won’t get the copyrights and that’s not needed. Give it an own name... “World Games” or whatever. An arena in China and let the Legacy Mode start at around 2008. I want to fight for my country and win a medal... I guess most ppl don’t care so much for the Amateur mode... but I think everybody would love to fight for a gold medal.

Important things to give it an real feel:
- Amateurs wear a sleeveless-shirt
- in every weight class there is only one fighter from one country
- traditional good amateur boxing countries should be represented as such
- judges score on landed shots and not after Pro rules (ring generalship etc.)

Training
I want to spend my points where I want. The computer always advises it automatically and I really don’t like that. It’s ok if I do an excercise where I train a body part or skill that I have to spend it on but I want to decide how many of my points I want to spend on this part and on that part. Otherwise the computer creates my fighter for me. For example if I have an excercise where I train my accuracy, handspeed and body toughness... the points get advised automatically to every section... but probably I want to spend my earned points all on accuracy. Please make it happen... otherwise like stated the computer creates my fighter for me.

Promoters
Great way to add longivity to this game. Promoters with different attitudes and skills... father figure (brings you up slowly), don mafia like (somebody who uses you as long as he needs you and afterwards probably doesn’t get you a match in a year), former star boxer (somebody who can bring you up faster and make you much money), star maker (somebody who’s been long in the business and simply always chooses the right opponent, the right challenge and doesn’t do too much), Selfish one (if he sees big bucks he will throw you to the lions) and if you become famous enough you should be able to promote yourself.

Superstars have demands
Many fights today doesn’t happen because of demands. It would be great to have something like a contract battle for every fight. Things like gloves, weight (catchweight if in different weight classes), purse split, ring size probably even the arena. If you now finally lured in a Big Star into an fight he will probably have some demands... and it’s up to you to decide if you agree or don’t. If you want it bad you will agree probably even if it’s to your disadvantage.

I think that even if you are a champion and defend your title it still doesn’t mean that you become great. Usually it always takes another Star to makes you a star through a fight. So it would be nice if there are few star boxers out there where you really try everything to get them just to make yourself a star.

Real Life Counterparts
The addition of boxers I want in Legacy Mode are great. But please let me put them in as old as they are and with their record. I understand that some of them will be retired when I’m finally on top but that’s ok. If they are, they are... then that’s the way it is... I have no problem fighting created fighters as long as they are created with love by the producers.

I should be able to decide if they are truly their age... for example Roy Jones would be as old as he is in 2009 and I would also want to to turn his ratings down. It should be possible for the real fighters to have it accurate...

It would also be nice if I turn pro and decide on my weight class if there is something like an introduction video. If you come into an division you usually know the champs, former champs etc. But because we will never have all boxers together there are a lot of created boxers in there and it would be nice if former champs, prospects, ducked fighters, hard punching fighters, technical fighters get introduced in a little clip or something. It’s only needed for the top guys... probably 10 or 12 in a division. Probably with a little back story to them so they get a more real feel to them. If I fight Cotto I know how he fights, his story etc. but if I fight an unknown who supposed to be good it would be nice to get something of their background as well. Probably about their fights against other fighters in the division etc. It would make them feel far more real. I know it’s a bit of work but I think a lot of ppl would love to help you out with ideas.

Backgrounds if not videos are really neccessary. To have a feel of fighting a real person.

Venues
I think in some venues you shouldn’t be able to headline until you reached a certain status. You can perform their but only on the undercard and if you do please don’t let the arena be totally filled. I love to perform in front of a few empty seets it really lets you appreciate if you finally fight in front of a big crowd.

Fighting in a gym really sucks. Would be nice to have a little random arena or at least if the gym gets filled with seats for a fight so that it looks like an arena. If you headline in smaller venues it can be sold out no problem whatsoever.

Also it would be nice to have special stadiums in there for very special fights. Open venues like: Dodger Stadium, Yankee Stadium, Rose Bowl, Wembley Stadium, Azteca Stadium etc.

It would also be nice if a fighter can create a bond with an venue. Most Mexicans have fans in Texas and California, so they will fight there if they can. Puerto Ricans will fight in New York. Polish fighters in Chicago and New Jersey etc. Big fights usually happens in Las Vegas because of money. You could build a bond with a venue and make more money in this building probably.

I don’t know how many copyrights you can get so a Stadium/Venue creator would be nice. A Stadium creator with a lot of options would be nice... but it could also be very simple. At least I can make one, decide where it is and have an illusion of fighting there.

Picture Book
Would be nice if in every match a picture is taken from me and opponent and it gets saved in a picture book. So when I look back at my record I have picture of the fight seeing me in my created trunks for that fight. Would be nice... because I’m somebody I will create new trunks every fight... so it’s nice looking back and not only have the memory of I have won... but also how I looked etc.

Money Spender
I hope there are some things to spend my money on. Boxing and Training should be the priority but if I have some money I want to spend it. Probably an own house with all my trophies and titles I have... probably able to bet money on other fights... create an own cloth company or something... buy cloth that I could wear in press conferences or at training sessions... build my own gym just for me... an own promotion company... something like that.

Websites
I would love to have a boxing website... for personal messages the legacy central is ok but for everything else it would be nice to have something like that. A site with opinions of writers about a fighter or a fight. Probably polls of who is winning a fight... who is the best pound for pound. The rankings of the divisions could be as well on this site...

KO’s & Hurt Moments
More animations for KO’s. I think you really have to animate them because the physics driven ones aren’t very real. The boxers usally always fall stiff like wood. If a boxer gets hurt usually it starts with his knees or legs (Spaghetti legs). Also it would be nice if not every KO looks like an KO of the year. How they at times really break together or slam hard to the canvas doesn’t happen all that often.

If somebody get’s hurt it shouldn’t be always about the same time. Some boxers are even still hurt after the corner break. Everytime somebody gets hurt it’s such an exciting moment and everybody in the room goes crazy. If you would have to survive 2 minutes of being hurt it would make it even more exciting. After somebody is hurt he could go into the wrong corner (just an example for animation).

Please let the game at the normal sight. The cuts are really take a lot out of the dynamic. The boxer gets knocked down... it starts an cut to another screen... after the boxer comes up it cuts back to the normal screen and both boxers come out of the corner like they do to start the match. It would be nice if it all is one screen... the whole cuts take so much away from the dynmic of the match.

The replay should also not happen during a round... it as well takes away from the dynamic.

If a low blow happens it would be nice if the Ref gives me 5 minutes to recover. I could go on myself earlier if I want too. Without a cut scene of course. I know the cut scenes happen because of the Ref so probably he should be in the ring from the start.

Ring Entrances
The bigger you get the bigger the entrances. If you the main event fighter you should really have the real thing. Entrances should be a bit tighter. Security men around you. Some hands of fans hang in the way. Probably the boxer touches them. A cut scene to the fans (probably with flags). Still marching toward the ring, up the stairs into the ring.

Ring announcement with the real boxers doing their celebration. Jermain Taylor with his bad intentions bull move etc.

Decisions should be made like in real life and not direct after the fight is over. Probably a cut to Teddy Atlas who gives you his scorecard (Latterman style). Animations like the boxer gets his gloves cut. Both boxers shake hands and with the opponents corner. Both come together in the middle ring (the ring is always crowded) and it gets announced... proably a split screen... real life presentation.

Crowd Noise
Would be nice to have some different things. If two American fighters fight usually the crowd is pretty quiet. Puerto Ricans, Mexicans, Polish, Britain crowds are more rabid. For me personally if a boxer of the afore mentioned nationalities fights it’s something I look forward to. Probably a beloved rating for a boxer or something.

Name Databank
The more the better. Could probably include names of all the NFL, NBA etc. players. Of all boxers (former as well) and their nicknames. Also include a dictionary with normal day words.

For hispanic names you could take a name databank from the mexican or spanish soccer league. For Europeans, Africans etc. as well... databank of soccer leagues. You will never get every name... but a wide range of names.

Calendar
Put in Celebration days. Especially days that are known for boxing... Puerto Rican Day Parade... Cinco de Mayo etc.

Cinco de Mayo etc.

yo. thats a very good list.

A little late to think they are going to put your dream list in the game in four days without any DLC. I likke the accidental clinching though, but some of the retro wishes I hope you don't get.

Has the wishlist on footwork been added. Gladiator made a great post about doing specific moves with quick bounces and laterally movements. Improve footwork is something that can add more depth to the game.

Also if there's a way to try moving and leaning (Something Ali did) that would be cool.

And also hopefully Marciano as a DLC boxer but I hope you guys would exceed the cap limit for stamina for Marciano. He deserves to be a few points higher than Frazier and Ali.

A few more heavyweight boxing legends have been added to our DLC Thread. Looking at this would be very appreciating.

Thanks...

That's a great thread with excellent DLC boxers that should be eventually available.

I have 2 agree with 2 things:
KO moment - they fall too quickly in the end... Unrealistic KOs. spaghettilegs - where are the wobbly legs. Or the stiff legs? After a knockdown your legs get more stiff.

Powerpunches - the haymakers feel weak... More impactpower to the haymakers!

Counterpunching is too strong!!! And Haymakers too weak. One haymaker perfect hit = match won!
