This error took place on my Wii. Ever since I have been trying to get online I had been receiving the message "There has been a network error." I got this message right after I saw the message that I was connecting to the EA servers. I have finally found the solution.

Turns out that my EA account had not been activated, even though I had thought it was. I assume that the system was trying to log me in a failing. The very first time I logged in, I got to my account and couldn't remember my password, ever since then I got the above message. My account info had some how been saved and the activation was all I had left to do. Once I did that on my computer, I was good to go.

Hope this helps others.

My buddy and I are still not able to directly connect and start a dedicated game.

I am unable to directly to a confirmed Buddy in Simultaneous Play -> Play With Friends. My buddy and I are able to see one another online, as well as play anyone else online (i.e. Play With Anyone or Lobby games) and use the EA Messenger directly with each other. We are both registered users (as well as registered this particular game Game Access Code). We are both using an active, functioning, wireless connection.

Please help.

I've experienced this with two people also. I've gotten around this issue because I believe this digs deep into networking issues.

The problem was 1 of the players was accessing a WiFi router with a secure connection (xbox 360) and the other had a direct connection to their modem. (Xbox 360) I think it's a packet translation/encryption error. To play with my friend that had his WiFi connection I Connected my xbox to my router. To play with the friend that had the Direct connection, I connected my xbox to my modem directly. I believe one of either devices (modem or an old Wifi Router) doesn't know what to do with encrypted packets and simply cannot go any further so it acts like it is starting the round, you are able to join up, but half way through the loading process it dumps us back into the lobby.

This is the ONLY way I was able to play with either of them. Simply put I probably wouldn't need to do this if he placed the xbox connected to the wifi under a DMZ or by forwarding his ports manually. Upon mirroring the connection per friend I was playing with I never again got booted back to the lobby. I wanted to test this further by asking my friend to connect his xbox to his modem and bypass the router all together but he did not have the means to do so. So as soon as he is on next I'm going to start a remote session to open his ports for him.

If you both are using a WiFi connection, are they both password protected to allow access to the internet?
Is one password protected by WEP (a 32bit/ and one with a WPA/TKIP?

Have either of you forwarded ports to your Wii's?

Try placing one or both of the Wii's into a DMZ (De-Militarized Zone) and see if this fixes your issues. After placing 1 or both into this DMZ per network remember to restart your routers and Wii's to save the info.
Then try to play.

Hope this helps....
