I am preparing a long post but this would be problems I saw in BAGM:

- Some very good RFAs and prospects don't receive qualifying offers or entry-level contracts from their team. Some examples:
Brad Ross (77 at 22 with B- after 1 season)
Mikael Backlund (was a 81 overall free agent instead of RFA and went to 82 with B- still after a year... very good value)
Bobby Sanguinetti (82 at 26 with C after 1 year on my team)
Ty Rattie (77 at 21 with B- after 1 year on my team)
Nick Palmieri (was 80 at 23 in free agents instead of RFA)
Phillip Danault (1st pick with B at 21 and 74ov)
Sven Bartschi (1st pick with B- at 22 and 74ov)
Vladislav Namestnikov (1st pick with B at 21 and 74ov)

- Young players accept long-term contracts for not enough money. Randomly generated rookies are less demanding but the actual stars of the NHL are accepting less than they should. I just signed Taylor Hall (89ov with A- potential at 22) for a 8-year deal worth 4.5million per season. In the current market, a superstar player would ask for a 6M$ deal if he had to accept a 8-year deal (think of Toews and Kane for examples).

- Offering more money to lock players for a long-term contract is lowering my GM reputation. Most teams are overpaying their star players when they want to lock them for a more than 4 seasons (just look at Doughty).

- Refusing lopsided trades is lowering my GM reputation. I know I'm looking for defense and offering offense, but trading my best offensive player for 2 expensive defensemen isn't going to help my team.

**I will be preparing a big post about BAGM... since EA worked on BAP and revamped it, I think BAGM should be the next mode to have some more upgrades for next year**

First time poster, and haven't seen this listed anywhere else..

When playing games in GM mode (haven't noticed it in any other modes), about once a game, a player winding up for a shot will just lock up, the puck goes sliding past him, and he drifts down to the boards behind the goal. He will stay locked up until play stops.

I have seen several post about the game freezing, but hadn't noticed if anyone else has had this issue?

Hey guys, long time NHL player and avid EASHL player.

I have a quick question pertaining to either BaGM or Season Mode.

I am trying to set up a fantasy game on another forum that will have 20 GM's and we will use NHL 12 as the simulator.

However after trying several different approaches I couldn't figure out if there was a way to have less than 30 teams in either BaGM or Season Mode.

Does anyone know a way to only have a BaGM/Season mode with only 20 teams or does there have to be 30 all the time?

Thanks in advance.

THE OPTION TO CREAT PLAYERS AND ADD THEM TO THE DRAFT BEFORE EVERY YEAR WOULD BE GREAT

ALSO IF A PLAYER WINS AN AWARD AT THE END OF THE YEAR EX. ART ROSS THERE RATINGS SHOULD GET A SIGNIFIGANT BOOST , EVEN IF THERE PAST THE PRIME

THE OPTION TO SAVE ROSTERS FROM BE A GM MODE TO PLAY ON OTHER MODES, EX I LIKE TO USE MY ROSTERS EVERY 4 YEARS AND PLAY AN INTERNATIONAL TOURNAMENT WITH THEM BUT NO WAY TO SAVE THEM.

Other than on HUT, the main factor determining the success of any hockey team, the factor which separates hockey from almost every other team sport, is yet again missing from the latest instalment of the EA NHL franchise: chemistry.

We have to remember that this isn't baseball. Ask anyone involved in hockey and they will tell you that it is unlike any other team-sport in the degree to which chemistry, not the most talented roster, determines your fate.

GM's understand this of course and trade, draft, and develop players primarily according to how well players gel and produce. Coaches get it, which is why they juggle lines. Talent is an important but always secondary consideration. When a super-star isn't the right fit, he isn't going to produce to his potential and, though it may hurt to lose talent, management will eventually trade him. Currently the incentive in GM mode is to get as many stars on your team as the salary cap will allow. Stacking a team may work for the Yankees but only because baseball is, more than any other team sport, based on individual talent.

Chemistry plays a critical role in making a mediocre Cheechoo a 56 goal scorer before sending him to the minors. How does one of the most impressive Olympic Team Canada rosters ever put together finish 7th overall (in 2006)? A failure of chemistry. For every Crosby that wins the Cup there is an Ovechkin that doesn't make it past the second round and a Stamkos that misses the playoffs because he's on the second worst team in the league. Split up the Sedins and see how well they do. The active ingredient is chemistry. The story of super-stars carrying their teams to the championship is a fun one to tell, but it’s a narrative that doesn't really capture the real reasons for a team's success.

Why? What connection is there between winning an award and how good a player is the following year? Jonathan Cheechoo won the Rocket Richard Trophy in 2005-6 and only got worse the next year, until 5 years later he was in the minors. I say maybe a mild boost to confidence, but no change in ratings other than that gained through normal development.

Not really. NHL Awards reflect how well a player performed the previous year. Winning an award doesn't make a player any better. If anything in places a set of new expectations on the player that could make them perform worse.

Same kind of thing is happening to me, when I go to resign certain players the game just freezes on me and I have to restart PS3.

I have a few issues that are * me off.

1 - Although my settings on the main menu are set, why do I constantly have to change my settings to what I want once I load my GM season before I play the next game ? Why are these settings NOT SAVED after I save and quit GM mode ? WTF !!!!!!!! Before each game after I load GM mode I have to go into volume setting to shut off the boring repetitious Thorne, Clement babble and shut off the menu music EA is hawking for bands trying to sell albums ???? Once I save and quit with those options OFF, why do they keep returning ????? FRUSTRATING !!!!!!!!

2 - Why are the lines I want NOT working ? example. I play with the Isles, I have Streit on BOTH PP lines, when I begin a PP he's not on either one I put on the ice ??????? His name is in both slots but when it comes to who's on the ice it's not him. I never had that issue before. I could have 1 player play on all 4 lines if I wished before NHL12. WTF ???? How can I NOT have my best D man on the PP and why does this game prevent me from doing so ????

You got our money, now fix this annoying crap please !!!!!!!!!!!
