Hello. My name is Victor Lugo. I am a designer and the resident mixed martial artist on the design team. My responsibilities are gameplay, training, and AI. I have been a designer at EA for almost a year and before that I worked on amusement park rides as a computer engineer.
I am 25 years old and have been active in martial arts for about 20 of them. I trained in boxing, Ashihara karate, and judo for before I started training mixed martial arts and shifting my focus to Muay Thai and BJJ. I have been training MMA for 3 years now.
I lived in Japan for 3 years and I think that has had a major impact on my interest in games. I play all types of games from ranging from Triple-A to the very obscure. I’m also a HUGE fan of fighting games which has made the past year extra exciting. Most recently I’ve been enjoying Blazblue. Its pretty awesome.
Anyways, I look forward to dicussing all things MMA and videogame related so lets get started!
Peace
Victor

Just have to say we appreciate you guys attempting to get to know the community and interacting with us so we know you're actually listening. This was barely existing on the UFC undisputed forums, so to see the devs like this is such a good look. thanks .
Do you feel that videogames have ever properly handled submissions? I'm interesting in knowing how MMA plans to tackle them.
I train at Gracie Barra
My favorite submissions are the Triangle, Anaconda choke and the Omaplata. I have a very sneaky Omaplata I like to do if someone tries to grab my ankle. Theres also a joke going around the office that I like to choke people out with their shirts, but I've only done that twice so far
So your last question is one that I think about a LOT. There are tons of submission out ther and thus many possibilities. At this point I think submissions in games have a lot of room to grow. I look forward to seeing more creative and fun submission mechanics in future.

XFC (USA)
Shine (USA)
Shotoo (Japan)
Deep (Japan)
Pancrase (Japan)
Rings (Japan)
Cage Force (Japan)
Icon Sport (Hawaii)
Cage Rage (England)
IVC (Vale Tudo) (Brazil)
Jungle Fight (Brazil)
Art Of War (China/USA)
FMC (Korea)
Spirit MC (Korea)
KSW (Poland)
EliteXC (for fun)
Affliction (for fun)
IFL (for fun)
Grappling Competitions: ADCC, BJJ World Championships, Grapplers Quest would be awesome!
Striking Competitions: K-1, Its Showtime, etc. Would be great as well!

and what did u think about them.
I have played most of them. Some were definately better than others. K-1 Pocket Grand Prix 2 is my favorite. Its actually one of my favorite handheld games of all time.

Funny you should mention that. I actually train at Gracie Barra Orlando, but I am going to Vancouver in a few weeks and plan to train at GB Vancouver.
