Post your general impressions of the game here. This thread is for general impressions of the game only. The best way to do this might be to post 3-5 things you like and 3-5 things you think can be improved. This thread isn't for asking questions about the game, it's for impressions only. EA folks will be reading this thread, but not responding here Feel free to post as many impressions as you like, but try and keep them as organized as possible to everyone can read them.

General notes about the game:

Now honestly, Madden 10 isn't out yet but you can still watch people on youtube who got early copies of it for no good reason. After seeing these people play the game and playing the demo myself, these are my impressions:

What I enjoy:
-The broadcasting feel with shots of players and coaches talking
-The ability to use Pro-Tak to break a million tackles
-Online franchise, even though I haven't played it yet, looks very promising with the concept of 31 other people playing a franchise
-The Extra Point, is almost like the newspapers and radio shows in Madden 05 very informative

What I don't like:
-While the broadcasting is nice, you tend to see the same animation over and over again, sometimes not even related to the play itself. The developers talked of seeing the quarterback on the phone looking upset if he made a bad play, but the same quarterback will look upset if he's about to win the game.
-The biggest problem I have is the constant repeating of the same phrase over and over again by the broadcasters. The voice acting is horrible. It feels like every team was just cut and paste to fit the situation. It is extremely annoying to have The Extra Point sound like it's being spoken by a robot.

Other than that, it looks like a nice edition of madden. Can't wait to play it.

I everything good about madden I stand by in my previous posts except for the online play.

Its seriously screwed and I wish the mods let us list the names of those who cheat at the game already so you guys know who to avoid. The game isnt even out for everyone yet and it feels like we're still playing 09 in a way.

I'm not embellishing or suck at the game, its that the game is difficult to the point it forces you to cheese and hers to glitch becuase nothing seems to work at times and people want things to happen when they feel it should happen.

I have been out runned by the wildcat formation by a couple people and I am here to tell you now that it is almost impposible to stop. My opponent had 400yds rushing with westbrook on 6 carries, its that bad!

They even have HB direct snap out of shotgun formation too and shotgun is people base of offensive operations since you're limited to few defensive abilities thats missing that were in 09.

I had very good success running the ball until people do things in attempts to look great onlin with there records like EA pays you for that mess.

Its sad folks that it comes to this but it seems like I am the on one who speaks out for this type of stuff. I will be paying for elite status just to spread the word to the EA folks about this issue.

I think the game looks great. Others that have the game are sayings its the best Madden yet so I'm really excited.

Keep it for leagues and online franchise and your golden, other than that if EA doesnt address these issues then random online players need to join a leauge/franchise fast.

Things I like about Madden NFL 10:

- The new player models and graphics. Clearly the best looking football video game ever made in history.
- Gang tackling looks amazing. I love the animations of the flying leaping catches, tackles are incredible, and the player's faces even look good! McNabb looks like, well McNabb.
- I love the little history blurbs of players past and stat screens that pop up throughout the whole game, makes a big difference.
- It's just a blast to play, Madden is back in full force. The preliminary reviews are right on the mark. 9.0 is about right.

Things I think can be improved:

- Where the heck are the cheerleaders? They in the bathroom doing their makeup?
- The coaches should have more interaction with the on field action. I would love to hear coach calling plays or talking to the QB through the helmet or making hand signals.
- Better halftime show please. Getting there, but needs work.
- Commentary is stale. I miss Summerall.

Just to get this out of the way. Yes I do in fact have the game. These impressions are not based on a any demo version, this is the full retail game bought and paid for running on my 360. Look up my 360 gamer tag if you want kingotnw69, I have it up and running right now. Probably going to do one more game before I move onto other things.

I have the 360 version, and I have to say there are a ton of bugs in it. Sometimes the play clock will jump numbers for no apparent reason. At one point I I was playing a normal game (5 minute Q) and about half way through the 2nd Q, the clock jumped to 6:51 and then started jumping around for about 30 seconds before it went back to normal.

There is also quite a few frame rate issues. It isn't too bad, but it is more than any of the previous games for sure.

When you go through your Madden IQ, it looks strange to me. Its blurry, for lack of a better word. Here once again frame rate issues pop up.

Also I am not a fan of all of the micro transactions in the game. I had no idea this was coming and really don't feel like I should have to pay money for addtional features for a sports title. Its a money sink, nothing more. I also can't figure out where to enter my code for the online franchise so thats a bit irratating too, i'm sure i'll figure it out though.

Onto the game play itself. The defensive controls have actually changed a little so thats a bit strange but i'll get used to it. I like the uniform edit feature at the beginning of games. The slower speed is fine with me, it feels normal at this pace. Though the ball seems to get batted around for quite a while when there is a tip now and I don't care for that.

The tackle animations are great, and the menu systems in game are cool. I really like the new injury feature where you can put a player who is only a little bit injured back into the game at risk to further and more serious injury.

All in all... I like the added features (the micro-transactions are lame though) but it seems like the game engine needed more time to develop so it could keep up. The demo definitely played a bit better than the retail version which surprises me. Maybe there is just too much going on in game when you have a fully featured game going.

Good step forward, not quite there. The engine needs some work. Though this is a problem with a hugely high profile game like this having a one year to the date cycle for development.

Also wanted to say that i'm not a fan of the weird direction they went with achivements this year. "Intercept a pass intended for Randy Moss" 30 points. What?!?! Seems kind of random to me, and this is coming from a Vikings season ticket holder who worshiped the guy for years on end. Most of them seen that type of thing and I liked the more traditional achievements with a couple strange ones thrown in. Not the other way around like this year's game.

- I hate the accel clock for online play... We cant motion, audible out of a play, call for protections on blitzes.. Please turn this off...

- The audible screens are atrocious and they don't matter because you don't have time to audible; go figure...

- The playbooks need to be revamped.

It is gonna be beast.

Gameplay is much more realistic

Waaay tooo many holding penalties on extra points. I was kicking a 37 yard field goal before the half. Got back to back holding penalties and then attempted and missed a 57 yard field goal.

5 minute quarter is waaaay to short with accelerated clock. I'd say 7:30 would be about right (which should be used for ranked games). But accelerated clock is awesome because it is more realistic. The final 2 minutes really feel like the final 2 minutes!

Online depth chart is awesome so you dont have to do it all the time.

Flag routes look awesome. Try throwing one and you will see. The QB lifts the ball over the LB and drops it into a pocket!

It looks like, by default, the 3rd WR is the Flash Package QB (Wild Cat)

Highlight shows are good. Some issues where camera angle is bad.

So many new animations...I love them!

Audio still is stale. But I always have hated Collinswort and Hammond. I disliked the ratio guy but would take him over these two any day.

Overall interface feels update and high tech.

We all are stuck with the stupid action camera. No madden classic.

I have played 5 games and havent see the fumble pile up.
