And i didnt know it was going to suck when i bought it.

I havent played all the playbooks yet.. maybe ill find something that doesnt make the linemen run away from the line.
maybe.. but we will see.

If i dont its going back for sure, or sit there and collect dust like 2009 did.

Well you could do us all a favor and just return it now. We get tired of hearing the constant griping from people just because they suck at the game. No game is perfect, but this game is light years ahead of any other madden game to date. At least in this game, You don't run into the same teams over and over again. I've played Rams, Ravens, Dolhpins, Patriots, Steelers, Titans, and the Bears. Know who i played against online last year? Patriots, Cowboys, Steelers. This game is so much more balanced.

Your right, you can skip the chain gang when you want to, it just the fact that i blow at the game!

Madden 2007 was a waste of time. ('06 gave people false hope)
2008 was awful. (08 pretty much laid the groundwork for SUPER-cheezy Online players. There was seemingly endless exploits/glitches to use. This was also the highpoint of EA's push to make Madden Online games the best and most used feature.)
2009 was even worse. I shouldn't have to explain this much, as it is well documented how bad Madden 2009 was. ('09 was more like a wooden-cased arcade game. You got the joystick, and the 'pass' and 'sprint' buttons, you didn't need anything else. The gameplay was in fast-forward and your 95 speed RB/WR was Barry Sanders or Jerry Rice.) EA Sports signed off on a half-* product that they KNEW was half-assed and was basically a beta Madden. That sentence is almost vomit-inducing. EA cared so little about the quality of the game that they signed up Brett Favre to ensure that they would still make their hundreds of millions in profit.
By 2010 the time had come for EA to have to start making the game the way the MAJORITY want it. We just want it realistic. But, a Madden game will never be without flaws and glitches. But the big problem with Madden's direction on current-gen was the clear push toward the mainstream, and the clear focus on getting as many players to the Online Servers as possible. (also, EA/Ian pretty much lie about certain aspects of the game EVERY YEAR before release) The EA bigwigs know how to captivate a massive consumer market of NFL fans. There's just too much money involved to create a truly GREAT Football game. EA is the biggest hype-machine of alltime. Well other than FOX News

A few months after Madden 09 was released last year, I posted on this board about how EA already knows what they are doing 1-2 versions ahead of time with the game (or at least they know the big picture of what they want to add/introduce to the game). It was incredibly clear that the Online League in '09 was just another marketing ploy to get more sales. I explained in my post last year that MADDEN 10 WOULD HAVE AN 'ONLINE SEASON' INSTEAD OF 'ONLINE LEAGUE'. And I hate to say it but I told you so... '10 Online "Franchise" is more like the old school Season Mode from the Football games in the 90's. For Madden '11, they will add the salaries and some more of the things they INTENTIONALLY kept out of this year's onlinefranchise (preseason, a working off-season mode, ummm maybe the SAME OPTIONS we have in offline games?? or does that make too much sense?). They will re-package a tweaked Madden 2010 and improve 4 or 5 things that the community bitched about for a year, and call it Madden '11.

With all that said, I do like the game this year. I don't really care for the Online Season mode, not until it becomes a real Franchise/Owner mode. For being such a conglomerate, you have to give the Madden team some credit for '10. We lit the fire under their * with all the '09 protest, and they couldn't risk a massive drop in sales #s, so they created many ways for the public to get more involved. That is all good and dandy, but in the end it was just a ploy to keep the angry Madden 09 buyer. It's obvious they put more programmers/workers on the project than they have in previous years. Just look at the game's Main Interfaces. The NFL Head Coach programmers obviously created the interfaces this year. The HC programmers had a big hand in the making of the Online Franchise too. The lazy, paycheck-stealing programmers that made Madden 09 could have never created a game mode as in-depth as the OF. And dare I say it, but is it possible that EA has hired some former 2k employees to use some of 2k's ideas? (Ummmm online franchise made in 2004?? as well as the overlays and in-game presentation. there was some serious 2k copying going on in certain areas of Madden 10.) But, a higher # of employees working on Madden only means good things in the future. EA Tiburon was finally forced to get a larger team of employees, in order to recover from the muck of Madden 09.

Yes I have alot of bad things to say about EA Sports. Most billion-dollar Corporations act in similar shady ways... they distort the truth, 'woo' the consumer with phony marketing, buy-out the competition, then slowly make their products shittier and more cost-effective for them.

EA SPORTS DELAYS THE "INNOVATION" OF MADDEN TO A CRAWL. WE WILL NOT SEE AN ONLINE FRANCHISE THAT IS EQUAL TO THE OFFLINE VERSION UNTIL MADDEN 2012 AT THE EARLIEST. THE LONGER THEY WAIT TO GIVE US WHAT WE ASK FOR, THE MORE $$$$$$$$$$$$ THEY MAKE. ITS THE ABC'S OF BIG-BUSINESS...

Now, everyone already knows the good and bad about '10 so I won't list my likes and dislikes with this year's game. Almost all of the 10 things that thebestcoach said are AI issues that can be fixed with the correct coding(aka patch). In fact, I think they programmed this game to make it much more 'patch-friendly' than the last few games. I bet most of thebestcoach's(and everyone else's) gripes about the gameplay will be fixed with patches. The high/lowsnap from Center can be re-calculated to happen less with just a little work by a programmer. Drops can be fixed easily, but they are made to happen on Defense alot because the ball gets knocked into the air so often. The QB take sack vs throwup a lame duck ratio need to be patched as well. Make him take the sack or throw the ball into the turf more often, almost all gameplay issues can be pretty easily fixed in a patch. The OL/DL interaction is probably way too much technology to tweak or change with patches so the OLinemen will be just as crappy as they have been since Madden 2001. The AI's "cheating", like your WR dropping the ball when you keep running the same play, is EAs way of policing the game. The breaking tackles problem can be patched, because they do break through good tacklers too often. But because of the stretched out ratings, even if they patch the break tackling, you will still run through CBs and poorly rated defenders. Their tackling/strength/awareness ratings are just way too low compared to the ballcarrier.

Im done now. All in all, Madden is a good game this year. MUCH better than the last few. The first step in the CORRECT direction in nearly 5 years. As long as EA Sports continues to listen to feedback, I think they will patch the major problems with the gameplay, which will make this game the best sports game of the year.

I rate Madden's current-gen efforts like this-
Madden 2006: 6.5
Madden 2007: 5.0
Madden 2008: 4.5
Madden 2009: 3.0
Madden 2010: 8.5, with the potential to be a 9.5 if we get some patches in the first 2 months.....
