There should be a option that makes the GM Mode 'realistc'.

What i mean by this is team making uncharastic trades. For example, the Red Wings? in every 1st season the Red Wings are near the bottom of the season table [funny] and miss the playoffs, then you look at their roster and you see that major impact players are missing. Players such as Datysuk and/or Zetterberg traded away? Lets be honest Kenny Holland isn't ever trading those players.

So by making it "realistic" i mean implementing things like keeping the Phoenix Coyotes near the bottom of the Salary Cap spending chart, keeping the Red Wings from making lots of trades. These things arent going to change straight away. Fine mix it up after 3 or 4 years but the earlier years should be realistic as possible. Also things like keeping the Sedins on the same team!

I finished my first season in GM Mode and when the following year's schedule was generated, it was completely unrealistic. I have months where I only play one or two home games, and other months, the exact opposite, one or two away games. Has anyone else had this happen?

Well I switched to Be a GM because Be a Pro had so many problems and EA was not addressing any of them, or any of my posts. I posted one complaint and 5 or 6 people afterwards all said they had the same problem, and EA didn't seem to care about it at all.

Well I was having tons of fun playing as my created skater in the Be a GM, but something happened to the controls recently. I had drafted a very moderate team. I was rated C+ offense, B- Defense, A- goaltending, and E for toughness. I won all my games. I went as far as 16 and 0. This was with setting on All-Star, Casual CPU Aidand all sliders up towards the top, with a few exceptions. Puck control, acceleration I had lower for CPU. And Passing a little lower for the CPU, Pass reception, pass interception down because they made infinite interceptions in anything that was anywhere near them. I also turned down stick lift and poke checks, because again I couldn't be anywhere within a foot of their player and I lost the puck. Totally unrealistic btw.

Anyhow all the CPU shot sliders were up, and CPU difficulty slider was also up. I won so many games, 16 that I tried Superstar, and found it too challenging for my ability. Well, I decided I wanted a different team, so I redid the draft. (Btw I played with the fantasy draft). Now I have a rating of A+ on offense, A- on defense, A on goaltending, and still an E on toughness cuz I don't care about that part of the game.

Well now, suddenly I can't barely beat CPU teams. I had a team rating of 97 offense, 91 defense, 93 goalie. The CPU team had 75 offense, 84 defense, and 73 goalie. I couldn't win. I rebooted and tried lowering the sliders. I turned down all the CPU pass, pass reception, pass interception, CPU difficulty, AI learning, poke check, stick lift, aggressiveness, hitting power all the way off. Still couldn't win. Turned their shot power and accuracy to half and still couldn't win. So I rebooted and turned it down to PRO level. Replayed the game, and I had 3 goals on 24 shots, and they had 2 goals on 7 shots on a 90 rated goaltender.

I don't want to blame the game for my lack of skill, but how could I go from connecting passes decently, winning games like 8-1 and 7-2 with this mediocre team at All-Star level with high sliders to barely connecting passes, barely making any good body checks, barely squeeking out a win against much lower teams, with all the settings as low as I can make them?

I don't think I changed my play that much all of a sudden. And my guys are totally doing weird things. When someone comes down the wing I used to click to control the defense and move in for some punishing body checks. Hardly ever did I not deliver, and was the defensemen able to avoid me with a quick move to the side.

Now, I had a game where I had ZERO body checks registered in the highlights! Zero! I had a guy avoid 2 body checks in a row, one and then I had another guy right there to deliver the second one right away and then he avoided that one the other way. Seriously, at pro level, with sliders turned down. I delivered crushing checks at All-Star level.

I had a goal in All-Star where I connected a pass from my zone in the slot area to a forward right up by the other teams blue line, and it went past two defensemen to make it to his stick and he scored on the breakaway. Now, I can't connect a pass 4 feet in my zone, if it's off just a bit my other player doesn't get it.
If it goes anywhere near them, anywhere at all seriously, they interrupt it. If they are 2 feet away and I shoot a super hard pass it gets deflected by them. If they are anywhere near an opposing player they get the puck. They intercept nearly 80+% of my passes. This is fine if the settings are high, but with the settings low I wonder why I suddenly can't connect passes.

Something has really changed I believe, and has since installing the newest tuner, though I'm sure that doesn't really make a difference. But something is different. How is it their sliders are all the way down and they have players with much worse skill levels than me, and they connect 78% of their passes, and Im down at like 50-60%? I wonder if it's my controller.

Anyone else find their game suddenly changed and they can't play the way they used to? The game is not fun because it's not intense, with lots of fast paced playing/passing and shooting. It's lame and slow and too many interceptions, giveaways, and not very many checks anymore.

Note: It's happening again, right now as I'm playing. I have my sliders all the way up, CPU all the way down. The score is 3-2 in favor of me. They have connected 76% of passes, I've connected 61%. Not because I can't pass, but because they intercept so many. I have been on the attack for 7:00 minutes, and have 17 shots. They've been on the attack for 1:18 and have 7 shots. With players half the skill as mine, how are they able to get two goals out of that? With my superstar offense I should be crushing them, with the sliders down, and the settings low. I am not that poor of a player, and a week ago I was winning on All-Star level with all their shooting sliders turned all the way up. I was winning badly. I had one win, it was like 14-3. Something is weird and out of the ordinary here.

Does anyone know how to get a face pic of your created player in the Be a GM mode? When they show the player info screen with detailed skill ratings, there's a pic at the top of the screen of the player. When they show three starts there's pics of most of the players in the game. But my created player is a dark shadow. How can I change that, and how can I edit the look of the skater his face doesn't look the way I want it to. Anyone?

I just noticed an unusual glitch in experience for goaltenders. I changed goalies with one minute remaining in regulation, and after the game ended my backup goalie (Ray Emery) received 60 xp points (the most of anyone on my team) despite playing only one minute and facing only a few shots. Not sure if anyone else has experienced this or brought it up here before

Does anyone else notice sometimes that even though the game speed and pass speed are set at their fastest setting in the sliders that the game plays slow and choppy? It makes it hard to connect passes and make hits when there seems to be a hesitancy in the game play. And in those times as well the sound is delayed and so a cheer from the crowd comes 15 seconds or more after a hit or a goal.

Maybe I need to restart or is their something else I can do. I have lost games because of the choppiness and slowness of play because my players don't react immediately to what I tell it to do with the remote. And then when he doesn't react sometimes I hit the button a second time, and then it really messes up because when the guy receives the pass, because I hit the button twice to try and make the first pass go, the receiver gets it and immediately just shoots it off into nowhere land.

I been getting into the BAGM mode but i have been very frustrated because my guy when im controlling him will freeze randomly while im skating. I just bought a new controller because i thought my L1 was sticking because thats what it looked like. Has anybody been having this problem? It doesnt do it online to me at all but only offline against ai.

So I never had any problems until recently, but every time I try to load up my Be a GM mode, it gets up to 100% and just hangs there. I can still press the PS button to quit the game and such, but.. I'd rather play it, obviously.

I thought maybe my save file was corrupt, but it does the same thing with a brand new Be a GM mode I started earlier today.

Any suggestions here, or can I never play Be a GM again? heh

I played 3 years in Be a GM(NHL 12) mode then got fired(WPG) (oh no!) The signed with a new team ANA and when I look at the Team Leaders stats of my AHL team it shows my previous AHL team players and stats, but only on the main screen. Anyone else had this issue, fixed it?

WTF !!!! Why does this game crash and freeze when loading a saved GM season ????????? 60 games into season and now I can't play ???? Stared a new GM season from scratch a few times and STILL doesnt LOAD !!!! WTF !!!! AAARGGHH, What a buggy piece garbage this game is. EA, got your bells and wistles but the core of this game STINKS, same commentary, same off play music, same annoying dying cow crowd noise during game !!!!! Now what do I do ?

*For all those getting freezing/loading problems (stuck at 100%)*

Just turn off your internet connection on the ps3 if you are stuck getting into Be a Gm/Be a Pro/Be a Legend etc.

It is due to a video that EA has playing in the background that causes the freeze/stall on loading saves.

Here's an oldie but goodie (been a problem since at least NHL10):

When a player goes down with an unplayable injury, the ability to sub out players in pre-game mode is impaired. For example:

I lose Patrice Cormier for 6 weeks with an unplayable injury. I start the next game and advance to the line-ups. Cormier has been automatically replaced with Slater, and that's all fine, but I want to replace Hainsey, who was brutal last game, with Mark Flood. I select Hainsey, the menu comes up to substitute him, and I select Flood. I hit "x", and Cormier is inserted on defense. The guy with the unplayable injury. I click on Cormier, and attempt to select Flood again. This time it inserts my other healthy scratch, Chris Bourque. This time I click Cormier, and it puts Hainsey back in. Round and round we go, but Flood is not available. Because Cormier is injured, Flood's been banished too.

Sometimes, I am able to insert a player by running the guantlet of select/unselect. Sometimes I have to just give up and go with who's available. And sometimes, I put the guy with the broken leg on the ice just to see what happens.

This has been an issue since at least 2010. Anyone who has played a season in GM with injuries on can attest to this issue.

-more penalty
-fix the hitting (it look so weird ,when guys fell face first)
-how come when i have the puck and i skate sideway i go faster then in a straight line?
-more difference between players accelaration (how come hall gill skate backward and i am t.hall there is no way i could just go aroud him ... .)
-less puck control even at zero ...it is wrong

This game freeze on my PS3 when i load GM Mode. How to eliminate this problem?

I'm currently in my 5th or 6th season in NHL 11 Be A GM Mode. Now, for some reason the game freezes up (except the music) when I try to simulate to the next game.

I'm not getting any error messages or anything telling me the file is corrupted.

I've tried everything I could think of (turned off the music, duplicated the save file, went offline, cleaned disk, changed system time), but nothing worked.

Has this happened to anyone else? Is there a solution or do I have to abandon the save (and my only reason for playing the game)?
