xbox.Oblong wrote:I guess I undersold myself a bit yesterday. Actually had a -15 (not -14 as reported) at Pinehurst 1-try Tour Pro yesterday and it proved to be enough to get me my 7th tourney win. Tiebreaker was my friend.

That's 2 tournaments I've won where I had 2 bogey's in each round. Guess I do better when the going is tough.

Way to go Obs.
I could only manage a -12 there.Had too many roll off the egdes....

Sorry PISH, Thursdays is my "dark night" for TW. I normally spend the evening with my wife and friends at the pub and by the time I get home I only have time to play one game before sleep, and that game has nothing to do with the TV, a console, and a controller.

I really wanted to play the TP at Oakmont, it's one of favorites and I think I won the last TP event there so it would have been a "defense" of my win, but alas, I was outvoted on that...

Tonight I will be playing and might even be able to play in the TGV FNF event.

Nice man...I usually make it on FNF. Last week I actually tied Mikey for the win. Usually when Mikey shows up on amateur night, I have no shot...Andy hosts and PTMogul is usually there and they both usually go very low on amateur. Usually it comes down to Mikey and Andy and PT...I just had 3 great rounds..probably 2 holeouts every round

My only goal playing AM is to not embarass myself by pulling up the rear of the field. I just forget about spin and boost on my approaches when they could help me out.

Man that winning score is amazing. Getting 1 stroke up on mikey, pish and dave every 3 holes. Im thinkin that must be the most amazing tour pro player on the game as they are consistantly on top. WOW i think we all need lessons from them.

To my forum buddies who i know play it honestly.....NICE ROUNDS fellas. WTG..

The tour today rolled on to 2 formidable challenges with the 1-try Tour Pro @ Turnberry and the Extreme @ The Predator.

Turnberry is what I consider a putter's course, lot's of tricky sidewinders that favors those who can putt well. I consider putting my strongpoint and it boded well for a solid -15 to take an early lead on the leaderboards. 2 holes in particular with nasty greens where birdie is possible, par is a great score and bogey or worse highly likely had me set up for 2 birdie putts that I managed to convert for pars...disaster avoided. I also missed 2 makeable putts but in the same vein I made a couple that I'd make less than half the time so I guess that makes it a push.

The Predator on Extreme and I almost didn't even play it. Like they need to add high winds and very fast greens to make it an Extreme tourney. Started off with a lovely triple bogey and had another triple along the way after getting stuck in the sticky shrubs. Missed plenty of birdie putts that turned hard right in front of the cup but finished with a +7, only 4 strokes behind the current clubhouse leader who was +3. Hats off to anyone who finishes the round under par...possible but improbable.

I had one of the most humbling rounds I've ever had in today's Tour Pro event at Turnberry. I was -4 through 3 holes, after holing a shot for eagle from the fairway on #3, and chipped in from off the green for birdie on #2. I came to the 7th hole at -4. I reached the par 5 in two and was looking at a 28 foot putt for eagle. Seven putts later, I walked off with a quadruple bogey 9!? Seriously though, a course superintendent would lose his job over a pin placement like that under lightening fast conditions!?

I four putted another hole and three putted another. I was so P.O.ed after three putting the 16th from 8 feet that I nearly hooked my (I'm 'on key'yull 'is SOB) tee shot OB on 17 I wound up shooting +3... (sigh). I guess I can't complain because I look the scoreboard and see lost of scores in the double digits under par. You guys just play a game the game at a level that is foreign to me

Sometimes I'm amazed at how bad I can suck at this game. I play with sweetspots in the teens and low 20's and meterless putting, but none of that had much to do with the suckage I demonstrated in today's play. I guess I'll go on and console myself by playing a relaxing Extreme Tour Pro Daily at The Predator (which I unwittingly purchased a couple of weeks ago... maybe buying courses unintentionally is symptomatic of what causes one to have a seven putt green?)

You should come on over to the 360 side, my -15 was a good enough score to notch my 8th daily tourney win. But then we don't have Hori's so your score would surely have been at least 10 strokes worse.

I haven't been using my Hori since I started back playing the first of the year (gave it to my son so he would have a controller with turbo)

I know Dave. What I don't know is how to stay away from that overused bad joke. I guess a fairer question would be to ask would you have won on the PS3 side had the 3 people ahead of you not been "users". (Not a rhetorical question)

grrr...played the extreme and needed a birdie on 17 and 18 to get to -11 and take the lead....went into the rough on 17 by about a foot and got a lateral hazard so dumb...ended up parring it, woulda been a birdie...and then birdied 18 so i tied blend-other so far for the lead at -10...looked at the tie break and guess what...he beats me by a single point

what a great tournament
