Hey guys, we are going to use this thread as the catch all St. Louis Rams roster and ratings discussion. Got a problem with a guy being rated too high or too low, this is the place to speak your mind, but please keep it clean. If there is a guy on your team that’s not in the game, feel free to post that in here as well.

When you bring your argument, make sure you bring stats and provide as much reasoning as possible. Rating s Czar Donny Moore will be stopping by this thread from time to time, so your voice will actually be heard by the guy in charge of making all of the roster and ratings decisions for Madden NFL 10. Make it worthwhile.

If you have any questions, feel free to send me a PM.

The individual team threads are a great idea. Hopefully they get read and acted upon...

Punter Donnie Jones is LEFT FOOTED. I brought this to their attention last year but it was missed. Please correct this. This isn't even a subjective matter like player ratings. He is left footed. Unfortunately "handedness" is locked and un-editable on the player management screen.

Also, FS Eric Bassey was released a few weeks ago (injured). It looks like Craig Dahl is in line for the back-up job behind OJ Atogwe.

The rest of the roster is in pretty good shape pending final cuts.

Thanks.

If possible, up Laurent Robinson's rating a little. Currently, I believe he is a 68. So far in the preseason he has showed great hands and good routes and seems to be better than a 68. If that can't be done, at least make him the number 2 wide receiver behind Donnie Avery, which is where he is at right now, but in the game he is listed as the 4th wide receiver. Also, wide receiver Brooks Foster has been placed on injured reserve for the season and #2 cornerback Tye Hill was traded to the Falcons, so Johnathan Wade should be taking over at the #2 spot. Hope some of these things get changed. Thanks.

Top 3 for players that need to be increased on the rams

1. Donnie Avery- He not only makes great catches when the team needs it (catch lead to a josh brown field goal win) but he put up great numbers for a rookie wr with no line and a mild quarterback

2. Keith Null- This man has had nothing short of a great preseason and has way more ability to throw on the run than 51 and also hes deep balls at time r better than bulger

3. Steven Jackson- His speed in the game is a 86 and his explosions through holes leads me to believe he deserves atleast a 88 or 89

Top 3 for players that need to be decreased on the rams

1.Kyle boller- No accuracy at all i feel his ratings need to be lowered

2. Quinton Culberson- He does not plug holes well at all and need to make more tackles

3. Antonio Pittman- He has lost his stride this whole preseason and may be a thrid string

i think that O.J Atogwe is still a bit underated and so is Ron Bartell. Ron Bartell shut down Larry Fitzgerald last season. Donnie Jones needs to be increased a bit too along with Laurent Robinson

i think samkon Gado deserves a rating boost...he had a outstanding pre-season...148 rushing yrds 2td with a 5.1 rushing avg...i think he needs a speed adjustment...he looked good too at returning kickoffs too

thanks for looking through all this. Hope this helps.
Players to improve
Avery/Robinson-avery played well last year on a no so great team and robinson has shown flashes of greatness during this preseason
Bartell-shutdown fitzgerald last year
King-was great during training camp last year until he got hurt should be at least a 60
Barron-played well on left side in 2007
players to decrease
Carriker-keeps getting injured and hasn't played very well
Bulger-broken pinkie will plague him through the season
Hill-even though not on the rams anymore should be at least in the 60's

Top 3 players to increase:
1. James Laurinaitis - James became the starter at MLB almost immediately. Ever since then, he has looked solid and has a couple takeaways this pre season including an interception and a fumble recovery. I think he should be bumped up to around a 79-80 based on what he has done so far.

2. Laurent Robinson - Currently is our second receiver and on madden it shows him as the 4th. Also, he is currently a 68 overall. So far, he has showed great hands and has ran routes very well in the pre season. He's also made several big catches and has been the Rams go to receiver the last few games. This makes me believe that he deserves better than a 68. Possibly a 70 or 71.

3. Ron Bartell - He's our starting cornerback right now and has shut down some big name wide receivers such as Larry Fitzgerald. Fitzgerald even said he is one of the best corners that he has ever played against. Also, Bartell caught up to Michael turner when he broke away and even stripped the ball from him before he could get to the endzone. That shows that he should also have a higher speed rating than 87, such as 91 or 92. I believe he should be rated around the high 80's area for now. Here is his highlight video so you can see = http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YUlet8CQbGI

(EXTRA) Jonathan Wade - He hasn't played extremely well but he has been good enough apparently to beat out Tye Hill for the #2 cornerback spot. Tye Hill was rated a 71, but I'm not saying Jonathan Wade should be that high, just higher than a 53 which is what he is now. I think a number somewhere in the 60's would be best for him.

Top 3 players to decrease:
1. Adam Carriker - I am starting to think this could be a repeat of Tye Hill. Injury plagued seasons with little production. He recently got a shoulder injury and is now out for the season. He hasn't really been spectacular while he has got a chance to play either. I would probably at least put him down to about an 80 overall.

2. Chris Chamberlain - I haven't seen him do much this preseason, but one thing stuck out from the rest. Michael Turner burned us on a huge run and it was the result of Chamberlain leaving a huge hole on the outside of the tackle. He could've easily prevented it from happening. This and the fact that he hasn't been very impressive lead me to think he should be a point or two lower. This isn't a huge deal, but there aren't many players that should be lowered very much.

3. Tye Hill - As Bradfordtoavery said, even though he isn't with the Rams still, he should be lowered quite a few points. He was drafted in the first round and has been a bust so far. Injuries have been with him since he was drafted and is too small to cover the bigger receivers.

Ron Bartell's rating should be increased he locked down Larry Fitzgerald and he was able to chase down Micheal Turner (who was way ahead towards the endzone) and made him fumble before he even reached the endzone. If you need more proof you should check out his highlights from last season on youtube because this player should at least have a 86-89 overall rating and a speed rating of 92-94.

The top 3 players that need to be increased in my opinion are:

Steven Jackson: his speed and his elusivness is alittle bit lower than what it should be. If youve watched his highlights his has explosive speed coming off the hand off. He can also make people break their ankles. Here is an example of his incredible speed and vision with this 56 yard TD run http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mHgmDnSt_wM

Donnie Avery: was one of the top rookie WR last year. I might not have seemed that way but with the numbers he put up with a horrible offensive line giving his QB no time is pretty impressive. His speed is perfectly fine but i think that his route running could be a little higher because he had a couple deep catches last year that were pretty amazing. Here are two incredible catches which i think no other rookie could have made http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EkZNHlxIh-0

Ron Bartell: Was a top 5 CB in my opinion. This year in free agency alot of teams noticed what he did last year and went after him. There was also a play last year where Michael Turner had a TD right infront of his face but Bartell caught up to him and stripped the ball. Also he locked down Larry Fitzgerald so you should up his speed, and his man coverage

I only want to say that i agree with these guys 100% that Ronald Bartell needs a ratings boost
He shut madden 10 co-coverboy Larry Fitzggerald out, and chased down and stripped Michael Turner from behind.
That in and of itself is worth a ratings boost.

Mike turner speed=91
Mike turner carrying=98

Ron Bartell speed=87
Ron Bartell strength=66

Will take another look at Bartel. I actually have played with him in game, he locks WRs down!

Come on Rams fans, we are still on the first page of posts! OUCH!
