Hey guys, we are going to use this thread as the catch all New England Patriots roster and ratings discussion. Got a problem with a guy being rated too high or too low, this is the place to speak your mind, but please keep it clean. If there is a guy on your team that’s not in the game, feel free to post that in here as well.
When you bring your argument, make sure you bring stats and provide as much reasoning as possible. Rating s Czar Donny Moore will be stopping by this thread from time to time, so your voice will actually be heard by the guy in charge of making all of the roster and ratings decisions for Madden NFL 10. Make it worthwhile.
If you have any questions, feel free to send me a PM.

Exactly, if he looks at any thread, it's going to be this one.
Quick everyone, tell Donny Moore how he can improve his favorite team!
I don't think Randy Moss is fast enough. 97 speed? WAY TOO SLOW!
Or how about Tom Brady. He didn't even play last year and he's a 94? C'mon! He should be at least a 98!!

I know the Giants beat us and ruined are perfect season but I dont agree that Brady choked... Brady did all he did to win the game (29/48, 266YDS, 1 TD). Essentially, he drove the patriots down for what could have been the game winning drive before that play that i dont like to speak of lol... He played a great game even though he had hardly any protection... And we really lost becasue our D couldnt stop the Giants on the last drive not becasue Brady choked...So go ahead I dont have any problem with you bragging that the Giants won but it just makes me kinda mad when people say we lost cause Brady choked...

Ha favorite team! You guys are the best! Especially you Mr. Conspiracy AKA SFU ExclusiVe!!
In case anyone is wondering....and it seems like this type of personal info might actually be useful for a place like this...I am a Tampa Bay Bucs fan. Born and raised here in FL. Went to school at UCF. I own approximately 40 NFL jerseys of 24 different teams.
I think you must have caught one random video where I was wearing a Patriots jersey that day (Brady #12 silver alternate BTW). Which I purchased the year of Tom Brady and his 50 fantasy touchdowns. I like to buy jerseys of guys who make me dollars. But bottom line is doing what I do puts me in a unique situation to be a fan of the NFL. I like every team to be honest. If it is Houston vs Cleveland on Monday Night Football, I am watching all 60 minutes. Yes I like the Bucs, but I root against them all the time...for instance, I will need my fantasy QB to score 30+ points but I want the Bucs to win the game.
And yes, in my opinion (and it's not really going out on a limb is it??), the Pats are the best team in football heading into this 2009 season. That could literally change after one quarter (or one drive like last year and Brady'
s ACL!).
And trust me, I have no problem putting anybody up or down in the ratings as the season moves forward. Hell, and as far as the Bucs NFC South rivals go, I personally own a Julius Peppers black, a Steve Smith blue, a Mike Vick red Falcons, and a Reggie Bush black Saints. So if anyone thinks I play the homer card, I would absolutely LOVE to hear their case.

Watson needs a HUGE decrease in rating. The guy has been nothing all preseason. He done nothing last year. What makes him deserve a 80? Keller from the Jets done alot more then Watson and he is only a 77.
Upgrade Chris Baker he has the clear lead for the Patriots at the TE spot.

'Bout time I got a reply out of you!
Dude, just pay attention to other teams more and other plays more. I know it's a lot to ask because it's one guy in charge of 32 teams but can't you get some help? Can't you have like some friends watch certain teams? Surely you can't monitor all 32 teams and accurately reflect their ratings, and if you could, that would be amazing. But obviously, as I've seen in the ratings, the ratings reflect all that you can achieve.
I say that the Pats are your favorite team because each year the people at EA choose the patriots to win. Each year the Patriots are rated the highest of any team. Each year Tom Brady is the highest rated quarterback, of course besides this year, even still he beats out Peyton in some categories. Each year the Patriots have a dominant roster, although having an above average season. Now before anyone fires shots at me for saying that, I do notice that Matt Cassel was your quarterback, so it was a good season, but surely not worthy of having a 92 rating, as high as the Superbowl Champion Steelers.
Basically, it seems like you devote a lot more time, and a lot more effort into the Patriots than you do any other team. Maybe I am wrong, maybe not?

Here is the projected roster from the boston globe.
After three preseason games, an updated projection at how the Patriots' 53-man roster might look for the season-opener:
Quarterback (3): Brady, Walter, Hoyer
Quick hit: With Kevin O’Connell’s surprising release, it opens the door for Hoyer … unless the team acquires a veteran. (1 change)
Running back (5): Faulk, Taylor, Maroney, Green-Ellis, Morris
Quick hit: If only four are kept, it would come down to Green-Ellis or Morris. In this projection, Morris is kept at the expense of a fourth offensive tackle. (no changes)
Tight end (3): Baker, Thomas, Watson
Quick hit: The Eagles, who need a No. 2 tight end, are one team watching this situation. Alex Smith and Watson are battling for the third spot. (no changes)
Receiver (6): Moss, Welker, Galloway, Lewis, Edelman, Aiken
Quick hit: Galloway is still building that all-important trust with Tom Brady. (no changes)
Offensive line ( : Light, Mankins, Koppen, Neal, Kaczur, Vollmer, Ohrnberger, Wendell
Quick hit: Wendell vs. Dan Connolly for the backup center spot; Wendell has practice squad eligibility, which could help Connolly's cause; Teams looking for a right tackle might inquire on Ryan O’Callaghan, who has looked solid in preseason games; Presence of Mark LeVoir on PUP could give team more comfort in entering season with 3 tackles. (1 change)
Defensive line (7): Warren, Wilfork, Seymour, Green, Brace, Pryor, Wright
Quick hit: Teams are going to have trouble running against this front; the question is how much pressure they can generate in a four-man line. (no changes)
Hybrid defensive end/linebacker (2): Burgess, Banta-Cain
Quick hit: Both have been regulars in sub packages and will be relied upon to spark the pass rush. (no changes)
Linebacker (6): Mayo, Thomas, Guyton, Woods, Alexander, Crable
Quick hit: Alexander vs. Paris Lenon for one spot, and special teams contributions help Alexander; Crable helped by Tedy Bruschi retirement. (1 change)
Cornerback (5): Springs, Bodden, Wilhite, Butler, Wheatley
Quick hit: What looked like a deep group entering training camp now looks like it has some holes; Wheatley has struggled, which could put him in jeopardy. (no changes)
Safety (5): Meriweather, Sanders, Chung, McGowan, Slater
Quick hit: Penalties aside, Slater looks like a special teams demon in coverage and blocking areas. (no changes)
Specialists (3): Gostkowski (K), Hanson (P), Ingram (LS)
Quick hit: Gostkowski and Hanson have developed a nice chemistry; they’ll help ease Ingram into the mix. (no changes)
(Note: The hope will be to look at players with practice squad eligibility later in the day.)
