Hey guys, we are going to use this thread as the catch all Pittsburgh Steelers roster and ratings discussion. Got a problem with a guy being rated too high or too low, this is the place to speak your mind, but please keep it clean. If there is a guy on your team that’s not in the game, feel free to post that in here as well.
When you bring your argument, make sure you bring stats and provide as much reasoning as possible. Rating s Czar Donny Moore will be stopping by this thread from time to time, so your voice will actually be heard by the guy in charge of making all of the roster and ratings decisions for Madden NFL 10. Make it worthwhile.
If you have any questions, feel free to send me a PM.

Prime example of Steelers biased offensive line.
Steelers offensive line. Gave up 45 sacks.
Rating:
Hartwig: 86 overall 91 pass block 88 run block
Starks: 83 overall 96 pass block 86 run block
Colon: 78 overall 87 pass block 85 run block
Kemoatu: 76 overall 88 pass block 76 run block
Essex: 71 overall 88 pass block 73 runblock
Now look at the Broncos offensive line, who gave up 11 sacks.
http://espn.go.com/videogames/features/madden/madden10?teamId=4
But in 2008...
Hartwig gave up 6.5 sacks and had 2 holding calls
Starks gave up 4 sacks and 2 holding calls
Colon gave up 5.75 sacks, 4 holdong calls, and 6 false starts
Kemoatu gave up 7.5 sacks and 5 false starts
Essex gave up half a sack in 7 games.
Broncos O-line...
Clady gave up half a sack, 1 holding call, and 1 false start
Hamilton gave up 4.5 sacks, and 4 holding
Wiegmann gave up 1 sack, 2 holding and 1 false start
Kuper 0 sacks, 1 holding, and 2 false starts
Harris gave up 2.5 sacks, 1 holding, and 1 false start
Much rather have that Broncos O-line.
Also Broncos finished 2008 ranked 12th overall in rushing yards while the Steelers finished 23rd.

This has been addressed in roster update 2

first off, the Run blocking and Pass blocking are typos. Should be reversed.
Also, put this in the Broncos thread, we don't want to see this crap here. Its whining when posted under the STeelers thread, under the Broncos thread its actually related.

Agreed with the O-line post. The Steelers' line is trash.

That trash won the Super Bowl while Denver and Seattle watched.. They block well when they have too as witnessed by the several comeback wins Big Ben engineered.. including the Super Bowl... you can't put a number on clutchness...

Well in that case, Shaq's free throw rating should be a 95 because according to him, "I make them when they count." But we all know he is trash.
Same goes for your offensive line. Big Ben creates big plays by NOT GETTING SACKED, and then scrambling only to find a WR wide open because the defense thinks the plays over. It's not because he can stand in the pocket all day.
If you don't believe me, just ask Chris Collinsworth.

But we know Shaq DOES NOT hit them in the clutch.. The line does block and by what you said Ben should be rated even higher if the line is that bad right?? What other Qb could win the Super Bowl behind that line??

Let me see:
Eli Manning
Peyton Manning
Tom Brady
Drew Brees
Phil Rivers
Carson Palmer
Jay Cutler
Donavan McNabb
Michael Vick
Joe Flacco
Matt Cassell
Troy Smith
Alex Smith
David Shaub
David Carr
Look at the talent he has at receiver, RB, TE, and on defense. Of course they SHOULD win the Superbowl. When you are surrounded by talent, it's pretty hard to choke.
Unless you're the '07 Patriots.

Hard to find taht talent when you are on your back though right ... Take Brady off that list and all those Qb's combined have as many rings as Ben.. Brady found a way to choke in the big game when he did not have perfect blocking why because he as Manning are system Qb's who have to have everything perfect to win... thus 16-1 instead of 17-9.. Say what you want Ben is a WINNER and has IT...

If Ben was so good, he would be rated #1, not #5 or lower on many lists.
Drew Brees has a higher rating than him, and I don't think the Saints even made the playoffs.

Man, if you guys want to continue this argument, take it to another thread. If you think their line should be lowered, talk about what specifically should be lowered. Pass block? Run block? Footwork? Awareness? Keep it on topic.

Who is David Shaub? Anyways...While Ben creates a lot of plays he does create quite a few sacks trying to keep the play alive, it's not all the O-Line. I think their o-line ratings are fine. I'm not a Steeler fan, I cheer on the Jets but still that shiny little trophy those boys from Pittsburgh just got justifies their ratings.
