Roster and Ratings Discussion: Indianapolis Colts

Hey guys, we are going to use this thread as the catch all Indianapolis Colts roster and ratings discussion. Got a problem with a guy being rated too high or too low, this is the place to speak your mind, but please keep it clean. If there is a guy on your team that’s not in the game, feel free to post that in here as well.

When you bring your argument, make sure you bring stats and provide as much reasoning as possible. Rating s Czar Donny Moore will be stopping by this thread from time to time, so your voice will actually be heard by the guy in charge of making all of the roster and ratings decisions for Madden NFL 10. Make it worthwhile.

Yeah, that's the main reason I don't use the colts, because none of their linebackers can cover anyone on man coverage because they all have 75 - 79 speed. It's embarassing considering the Colts have one of the fastest defenses in the NFL.

Also, Reggie Wayne's speed should be increased by 2-3 points. He is just as fast as Boldin or Fitz.

Everything else is fine. Maybe the other receivers could use a boost, but I'm not too sure about that.

JOESEPH ADDAI DOES NOT FUMBLE! Out of his 748 career touches hes fumbled 3x. Michael Turner touched the ball 382x last year about half of Addai's total touches and fumbled just as many times...WTF, all while mike hart has a higher carry and Donanld Browns has the same... Also the Colts defense is as much about speed as Al davis, having corners that get burnt unless were playing cover 2 every play is sad.

So yeah reduce Michael Turner's ridiculous carry or make Addai's a 99(not joking) an 85 is just kind of ridiculous.

The Colts O-line gave up only 14 sacks last year only 4-5 teams gave up less sacks, but the Pats and Steelers who gave 40+ sacks have beast lines...wheres the logic? Manning isn't elusively getting away from the rush lol the o line is better then the game reflects. The Colts ranked 6th in pass defense in the Nfl last year yet stopping the pass as the colts is way too damn hard because of our * poor speed we get burnt.

Thanks for the feedback, I just looked at some film of the Colts preseason games today, and yes, those cats fly around the ball! But, they do get ran on quite a bit, so might have a trade off here...some Speed boosts for some tackle/STR decrease.

I think Clint Session deserves to be rated higher than a 65. Session made 94 tackles last year and had 3 FF. You may not hear a ton about him but he has been extremly solid at LB for the Colts and is a great tackler.

Donny, If I were you I dont know that would bump the Colts starters down in ratings to much against the run because truthfully none of them have been on the field alot this preseason.

However You probably could bump someone like Freddy Keiaho down a bit because if you saw the game against Detroit, he cant tackle to save his life. Hagler could probably drop a few points as well, as he is now basically just a special teamer.

Steve Justice, also, likely deserves a bit of a ratings drop as he has fallen out of favor with the coaches and may get cut.

Also, I think you could move Jerraud Powers in front of Dante Hughes on the depth chart. Powers has outplayed Hughes thus far and looks to be the Colts 4th CB behind Hayden, Jackson and Jennings.

Finally, the WR depth chart is now likely:
1.Wayne
2. Gonzalez
3. Collie
4. Garcon
5. Taj Smith (Roy Hall is on IR)

News should come out pretty soon on whether Bob Sanders will come off the PUP list before the season. If he doesn't he's out for 6 weeks.

CB Dante Hughes has just been cut. I think this opens the door for Jacob Lacey to make the team at CB

Adam Vinatieri kicker for the colts is rated low. He made all of his 50 yard kicks last year including a 52 yard gamewinning kick vs chargers. so leg should be incressed. pat macaffe punter for the colts leg should be increassed also if you watched the vikings preseaon game he had a 64 yard punt

I'm not sure if this is where to post this, but, to me, peyton manning looks pretty fat in the game. I'm not sure if it is his body or his arms in the game, but something just makes him appear disproportional.

Overall, I think the defense's speed needs to go up, yet strength down. The strength of the defense is ability to generate a pass rush with the d-line without blitzing, but they get burned a lot because of overplaying the pass.

Hey, I'd really appreciate if you considered the following while updating the rosters:

-A 75 for Antony Gonzalez is waaaaayyy to low... I think he should be around 83-85 at least, he has proven he is a starter in this league and a very good WR...he isn't a slot receiver.. just watch him play and you'll see!
-Austin Collie is kind of our third WR, and Dallas should be put 4th (I know he can't be put 3rd because he'd be starting twice). So it should be Wayne, Gonzo, Collie, Clark, Garcon at WR.
- Ryan Lilja should also get a boost, he used to be a 90+ player (he's a 82 right now)..he spent a year off football but you can see that he is clearly back.
-Jim Sorgi is clearly better than rookie Curtis Painter...I don't know if 54 is what Sorgi should have, but it is definitely unfair to have Painter 8 points higher in that case. I think their ratings should be exchanged.
-Donald Brown is faster than Joe Addai...he's more of a straight-ahead runner but he should be able to make guys miss. His speed should be 90-92.
-I think both Robert Mathis and Dwight Freeney, or at least just Dwight Freeney should get a higher rating than 94 (and 92 Robert). They are elite! They should be like 97 and 94.
-Antonio Johnson is better than Eric Foster and Better than Daniel Muir, he should be around 74-75 to be realist. Ed Johnson is a disruptive force and should be around the low 80s at least.
-Phillip Wheeler is not a 62, he should be 69-70.
-There's noooo way Gary Brackett's speed is 76! He should be at least 81! And I think 83 is too low for our team captain!
-Clint Session is not a 65. He should be around 74-77.
-Now, Melvin Bullit is DEFINITELY not a 64. He could be a starting safety in MANY teams! He should be a high 70s guy..I'm serious! He could be a starter and a good one this year if Bob is on PUP. And he lead the Colts last year in interceptions! I'm really serious about this one.

I know it sounds like a lot of homerism but if you watch the games and the training camp reports you should know I'm right... I'm trying to be as partial as I can.

when is the nexter roster update coming out?........I want to start a franchise but want the most current rosters. EA really needs to allow you to download the current roster to an existing franchise. Its frustrating waiting for roster updates; especially during preseason. Alot of times I'll play another game because I don't want to start a franchise and not be able to incorporate roster changes.

Chad Simpson needs to be added to the Colt roster.
