Roster and Ratings Discussion: Jacksonville Jaguars

Hey guys, we are going to use this thread as the catch all Jacksonville Jaguars roster and ratings discussion. Got a problem with a guy being rated too high or too low, this is the place to speak your mind, but please keep it clean. If there is a guy on your team that’s not in the game, feel free to post that in here as well.

When you bring your argument, make sure you bring stats and provide as much reasoning as possible. Rating s Czar Donny Moore will be stopping by this thread from time to time, so your voice will actually be heard by the guy in charge of making all of the roster and ratings decisions for Madden NFL 10. Make it worthwhile.

players that absolutely MUST go up......

justin durant, MLB- he is currently a 73, I dont know how this guy is not atleast an 83 on the new ratings system, he is one of the fastest LB's in the game, and is REALLY good in coverage... despite being injured in a few games the last few years, he has put up really good stats as a weakside LB, this year at MLB, he will rack up a ton of stats

Clint Ingram, OLB- he is currently a 75, should be a 79... he is the new vocal leader of the defense...the biggest hitter on our defense by far, very fast, not quite as fast as durant, but much faster than his rating... good in coverage, great tackler

Daryl Smith, OLB- he is currently a 83, should be atleast a 86... best overall LB on our team, jack of all trades, but not really master at any, durant will soon surpass him as the best LB, but right now he is the most solid player on our team, del rio constantly calls him a probowl caliber LB, and says that our 3 LB's are the best squad on our team... ratings need to reflect that

derrick harvey- hes like a 68 or 69 in rating i believe, yet he led the team in QB pressures last year... he is faster than his rating, and is a starter, and outperformed every DE in last year's draft except the Long, yet he is rated below most if not all of them from even late rounds

Derrick Cox- i understand why he might not have been raised yet, because hes been hurt all preseason, but all offseason and training camp they have said he has looked amazing, and will be taking brian williams starting spot once he's healthy... very good in man and zone coverage, tall and fast

Vince Manuwai- our best lineman, by far..... one of the best run blockers and strongest lineman in the nfl, why is he a 82?

MJD- why is his trucking not in the 90's? honestly? and why is his carry SO LOW?

I think people really dont understand what ratings should be.
Is it possible to fix uniforms through DLC cause the Jags current and last years uniforms are messed up

I think Garrard's throw power and accuracy needs to go up a couple of points. I mean, the guy did have a make shift line last season and has looked sharp in preseason. Not to mention being able to throw the deep ball with some speed and accuracy. I think everyone else besides some of Krazy's picks is pretty much right on par.

please add QB Todd Boeckman and if he doesnt make the roster at least put him the the FA pool the pool needs way more undrafted free agents

Do you think Todd will make the team? I still think he has the skill to be a NFL QB, but then again, I am a Buckeye fan!

Cameron Stephenson RG #70 is a beast! Hope he makes the team...

todd and stephenson will both probably not make the team...

one player i forgot to add...

DT TERENCE KNIGHTON... stats i need to support him being bumped up? hes a starter, already... and is DOMINANT vs the run, and plays the NT in our 3-4...

he is like a 50 overall as a 3rd round pick, which should deserve an upgrade in the first place

Jaguars rookie Terrance Knighton has passed Atiyyah Ellison as the favorite to start at defensive tackle next to John Henderson.
It's a promising development for Jacksonville. Knighton, the 72nd pick overall in April, has ideal size (6'3/321) to play nose tackle and occupy two blockers. The Jags can now use Rob Meier and Derek Landri in strict blitz situations.

I think Todd will or at least make the practice squad Paul Smith just got cut so i have a feeling he will be the 3rd string QB

he might make the PS ya, but not the active roster... atleast not for now.

also, please add tyron brackenridge CB on the jags who has been playing great... might have taken the NB spot from brian williams as cox is destined for the starting job..

again, drop pashos and brian williams, both are on the roster bubble... eben britton is now a starter at RT

and teh reason i dont have as many guys dropping as i do guys moving up is because the jags are already rated way lower than they should be after 1 injury plagued year we are rated lower than the 49ers who havent had a winning season in what? 5 or 6 years?

Krazy, I absolutely agree with all your picks there. I have the same thoughts every time I fire up the game. Just to piggyback a little bit on Knighton. He is the lowest rated DT in the entire game. I would love for someone to explain to me how that's possible for a 3rd round pick??? There's too many Jaguar haters residing in these offices lol. And I'll add one to your list. Troy Williamson should get a boost as well. As of last week, he was leading the league in receiving yards for the entire pre-season and he looks great. And yes, please increase Jones-Drew's Trucking ability. If you need any proof, check the games against the Colts, or just ask Shawne Merriman. And yes, when is the next update??

Before you rule out some guys, I hope you looked at the game against the Skins. Pashos looked good at guard. There are also a couple of more guys that could use a boost, but I think we should reserve that for the final cuts.

wow did i forget williamson? my bad, he and MIKE WALKER dominated tonight... especially walker... both need huge upgrades..

and my man derek cox... what was it? the 2nd play of teh game he was already at RCB ? he wasnt out of position once tonight, had 3 nice tackles, one of which was on a run play and he took down teh RB 2 yards in the backfield... hes a beast...

and quentin groves... wow... so fast
