Hey guys, we are going to use this thread as the catch all Denver Broncos roster and ratings discussion. Got a problem with a guy being rated too high or too low, this is the place to speak your mind, but please keep it clean. If there is a guy on your team that’s not in the game, feel free to post that in here as well.

When you bring your argument, make sure you bring stats and provide as much reasoning as possible. Rating s Czar Donny Moore will be stopping by this thread from time to time, so your voice will actually be heard by the guy in charge of making all of the roster and ratings decisions for Madden NFL 10. Make it worthwhile.

My biggest problem is Eddie royal he has a 93 speed but i think he should be a lot faster, he runs a 40yard dash in 4.4 seconds that is way above average for a nfl WR and his catching should be a lot better he was 2nd in NFL history with 99rec by a rookie. Also i am very disipointed in the ratings you gave for Elvis Dumervile, i was watching the Broncos vs. Bears Pre-season game and he was blowing by ORLANDO PACE on almost ever takle. and Chris Kuper the broncos left gard should have over a 90 rating he was the only gaurd to play 16 games in the NFL last year and not give up a sack.

dawkins tack, hit power, block shed, finese, power move, pursuit , play rec, str, shud all be alot better cuz in his prime he was as good as great LB vs the run n as good as Great corners n certerfield safetys in coverage. now he just above avg in coverage n his run D has prob gotten better.

dumervill is fine he can rush n cant cover nough said untill this de prove otherwise.

First off, add Safety David Bruton, he will be an all out stud, although he probably shouldn't be rated more than mid 60's right now, but should have A potential.

I agree Royal should probably be bumped up a few spots, but I can live with it.

Knowshon with only 86 speed? this should be low 90's, the man will be a stud

Elvis Dumervil a 65???? please, he has led the Broncos in sacks the last three years, given everyone else on the front line has sucked, Elvis is a stud, should be mid 80's, he abused Orlando Pace, and you have him at an 87, lets even this up a bit.

Scheffler is better than 79, but by only a few points, so I will give you that one.

Larsen should be able to play LB and FB and be mid 60's at both.

You fixed the O-line a bit but Kuper a 78, and did not allow a sack last year, that is a 90's performance if you ask me. I believe Hamilton should be in the 90's as well. any expert will tell you, the O-line is the strength of this team and one of the if not THE BEST in the NFL

Andre Goodman has been outstanding, and should be mid to high 80's

ADD KENNY MCKINLEY to WR's, and lets keep in mind he is fast, and Spurrier claimed he is the best WR he has ever coached.

I have a feeling you are going to need to add Darius Walker to RB's, but probably wont know that till roster cuts

Mario Haggan needs to be added, being he is listed as of right now as starting OLB opposite of Dumervil

Suggested cuts to make room for above players, Vernon Fox, Jack williams or Josh Bell, Tim Crowder, pretty sure 3 out of 4 will be out of work next week

that is my 2 cents for now

I would like RG Kuper to be higher 16games 0 sacks IMO i think 78 is to low for him.

Dumervil is transitioning well into OLB just a small bump would be nice (only Mario Williams has more sacks than him from that draft draft class) he did make it very hard on O.Pace.

Moreno i would think could use a bit more speed (1 or 2 points would be nice)

Hillis is a beast i just think he should be bit better lol ,returning kicks ,RB,FB and catching passes he really is somethin special

add OLB Haggin

BTW , i still think that all starters should stay the same until Reg. season ,but just incase i put a few up there lol
just my opinion

God Bless

Quick items
FB Peyton Hillis looks way too skinny.
Add WR Kenny McKinley.
LG Pat Murray should be released.
Add C Ross Hochstein from the Patriots, move him to LG and change him to #65.
TE Richard Quinn has the wrong player photo.
DE Kenny Peterson was incorrectly given dreadlocks, he actually has short hair.
DE Le Kevin Smith is #72.
DE Darrell Reid should be moved to ROLB.
ROLB Robert Ayers should be moved to LOLB.
ROLB Mario Haggan should be added.
SS David Bruton should be added and made #30.
FS Darcel McBath is #31
For roster spaces, release DT Mathias Askew, LOLB Tim Crowder and ROLB Jarvis Moss who are on the 3rd team and likely to be cut.

Ratings Suggestions
QB Kyle Orton has shown no ability to get the ball deep, poor decision making and overrated accuracy. All of these ratings should be dropped.
RB LaMont Jordan looks very slow, with a lack of explosiveness and a significant drop in power. Lower his acceleration and trucking ratings.
FB Peyton Hillis has great hands, probably the best on the team. He's also their best power runner. An increase in catching and trucking is needed.
WR Eddie Royal is much faster than his current speed ratings, runs terrific routes and has awesome hands. He's had a tremendous preseason and should see increases in speed, route running and catching.
WR Brandon Stokley is still in the league because of his route running and hands, both of which are not reflected well in his ratings.
TE Tony Scheffler is a horrible blocker and has trouble hanging onto the ball. Drops in carrying, strength, and blocking ratings are needed.
LOLB Elvis Dumervil has taken to the position very well. He dominated Orlando Pace and is looking very comfortable dropping in coverage. He could use bumps in speed, zone coverage and tackling.
MLB Andra Davis has certainly lost a step or two and this should be reflected in his acceleration rating.
MLB Wesley Woodyard is a great tackler, maybe the best on the team which makes his current tackling rating unacceptable.
CB Champ Bailey may be the game's best tackling CB, but it's not reflected in his rating.
CB Alphonso Smith lacks great long speed and should have his speed rating lowered.
K Matt Prater is streaky at best, he needs a lowering in terms of kicking accuracy.
P Brett Kern has been very inconsistent, shanking punts often. He needs a drop in kicking accuracy as well.

CB DJ Johnson will probably make the team over Bell, as he is ahead of him on the Depth Chart.

Vernon Fox is going to be cut.

Wesley Woodyard should be in the mid 60s, he is 3rd ILB on Depth Chart, Spencer Larsen is 4th ILB/Backup FB

Need to Add RB Darius Walker from Fox's roster spot.

Everything should be set, along with the guy who posted above me.

Champ Bailey's TAK needs to go WAY up. He gives more run support on the edge than most OLB's.
Peyton Hillis' TRK needs to go up a bit. He runs right through a lot of defenders.

OVR
needs to be brought up for Brandon Stokley, Andre Goodman, Elvis Dumervil and Tony Sheffler. Not huge increases, but they are all better than what their ratings indicate.

Kyle Orton's MAC & DAC need to be brought down just a touch. His SAC is fine the way it is.
Chris Simms' SAC needs to be brought up to about where Orton's is.

Also, the four captains should be:

Daniel Graham
Casey Wiegmann
DJ Williams
Champ Bailey

These we're the four guys who were captains during the game last Sunday against the Bears. Brandon Marshall has never been a captain and shouldn't have the "C".

Definitely need to add Haggan, and it would be nice to be able to play Larsen at Fullback or Inside Linebacker.

Again the biggest issue is Mario Haggan needs to be created and added to the team. He is currently the starting outside linebacker opposite Dumervil.

Speaking of Dumervil I also agree his ratings are too low. I've read the arguments that he is changing positions but how can he be rated lower than Ayers who was also a d-lineman in college. Plus shouldn't Dumervil's pass rushing rating be better now that he is coming off the line and will be able to get a better jump off the line. Look how he handled Orlando Pace. Again maybe his pass coverage skills are correct but if you raise his pass rushing he should be at least in the mid 70's.

Lastly you need to switch Larsen to ILB as he is hardly going to play fullback this year. The Broncos are mainly gonig to be using a one back set so most of Larsen's playing time will be ILB and special teams.

Besides Dumervil I think no ratings should go up or down until a few weeks into the regular season. Preseason is used for working out the kinks and don't mean anything. Didn't the Lions go 4-0 in the preseason last year?
