I guess it depends on what system your on. It sound like you play on a PC, but since I don't have that version of the game I can't tell you for sure. If there is an option in the game for downloading rosters then that's what you will use. Otherwise you will download them from the website as before. The PS2, PS3 and XBOX 360 versions gets the roster update thru an ingame feature (guessing about the PS games).

I understand that some people care a lot about the AHL, and that's fine. I'm not one of them. But my suggestion/request takes care of them and those of us who just want the NHL rookies in our game now.

Update the NHL now and do the AHL when you can after getting the waivers. Everyone wins.

And with all due respect, I don't buy the argument about not being able to play online without updating the AHL rosters. We can play online right now without those waivers, why would it be any different after a NHL roster update?

And seriously we understand that people want their rookies but nonetheless there are legalities that must be followed.

Just an FYI The mods only moderate the forums and we help people when we can. We have nothing to do with production.

And if NHL players move down to the minors and people in the minors have moved up since the last update then rosters would be incomplete whether in NHL or AHL.

I know it can be tough to understand these issues as EVERYONE (including the mods) want the rosters updated but we are talking about real players here and REAL legalities to be followed plus there is creation of players. What do you think can be done to keep both rosters in synch? Personally I don't know how many players went to the minors from their NHL squads or moved up. But where do you suggest they put players that moved down from the NHL or moved up?

I am an intellectual property lawyer, so I think I understand the issues well enough.

The rosters will never be perfect, even after the update. That's why I want EA to go ahead with the NHL roster update now, and add the AHL stragglers who haven't signed waivers when they can.

I know you (the mods) aren't part of the development team, but I think this is a legitimate point that should at least be considered for next year. Hopefully the team will hear our request.

See it can not work that way, Because there are players that have been playing the full year under their parent club. They are still and only under an AHL contract. so it would not work, That is why I say give it some time. Think back a few years when these update were never available, what did you do then ?

Try waiting for GTA IV a game that was supposed to be out on Oct. 16th and now you have to wait at least until March 3rd, my patience will be running thin when it comes close to being out. I think everyone gets a little over reactive when you want something and you are so close to having it but can't wait anymore and just snap. I had to wait an extra two days for NHL 08 so that was not easy but it was worth it.

At least GTA gave us a release date or were asking for is a time frame that's all like say next week they should be out just say something.

Oilersguru and daytripper w/e your names are. I understand your position in trying to just defend EA and thier lousy support for this game, however it comes to a point where enough is enough. We are NOVEMBER 5th right now, and I still have to play with mark streit has a forward (not to mention he is on the top line for some stupid reason). Me personally I could go without the roster updates and create my own, but ive been holding off hoping EA roster update is due any day now. I havent started my Dynasty yet because ive been waiting on the new rosters, and quite frankly ive been patient like so many others. My question to you is do I go ahead and create my own rosters to begin my dynasty mode, or do i wait for the EA version? and hope to start my dynasty sometime before xmas?

Simple Question: Will the the roster update be out in the next 3-5 days, or much later? I wanna start my dynasty with the most authentic rosters. And im about to just make my own rosters.

like I said in another thread I could play the politics game and say December. Then when you get them earlier you will be happy.

But it won't be December I have every confidence that it will be soon. Thats all I can say.

Last I checked I bought NHL 08 and not AHL 08 so stop using that as an excuse and just give me Erik Johnson. I usually believe that the more time worked on something the better it will be, but the rosters that came with this game are so off, the update is absolutely necessary. Now if you had a fantasy draft in dynasty mode on the 360 I could wait a very long time. Unfortunately you decided not to include this feature for whatever reason (I'm sure that's the AHL's fault too and has nothing to do with programmers being too lazy to figure out algorithms for it). I'd like to start a dynasty mode, but due to not having the rookies on my favorite team or being able to do a fantasy draft it would be a complete waste of time because I'd just start a new one once the update comes out in who knows how long. So please just release the NHL portion of the update since it's only the AHL that's holding you back and put the kids with cancer on the teams with empty AHL spots I'd rather have them on my AHL team than a guy that is so unknown he hasn't even signed waivers yet.
