A few things to clarify...

There was a patch for TW07. There was no patch for 08.

I don't recall any "mistruths" regarding Firestone for TW07.

Agree with you about the online portion of TW PC, but asking PC users to pay for online play flopped miserably in TW03 for PC.

I can assure you that TW09 for PC is NOT going to be released and my source is the actual TW Development team at EA Tiburon. EA Sports is targetting next year for a return to the PC market for TW....

In reference to your remark regarding the online retailer releasing a PC platform of TW09 in 2 weeks, I've carried on a dialogue with Newegg for over a month now. Their latest response as of July 23 is as follows:

"We have received the feedback from our related department. We are a reseller and we purchase most of our products from authorized wholesalers. We do not have to be an authorized dealer in order to sell products. Some we do purchase directly from the manufacturer. This is a pre-order game and is not yet in inventory. It has been announced for a future release date. Thank you for your patience and understanding."

As to the actuality of TW09 being released on a PC platform this year I can solidly affirm "EAcom Golf Tim's" response to you that it will NOT be released. I have other sources. However, for what it's worth, I feel comfortable in stating that you will see TW10 on a PC platform as well as other EA games that were not released on the PC platform this year.

I have also just learned that TW 09 is not available for the PC and even contacted EA's customer service before finding this thread. I am upset as well as this is essentially the only game I play on a consistent basis. I spend hours and hours playing when first getting a new TW game to work my player up, etc.. I actually look forward to getting these new titles every year.

I played a LOT of video games when I was younger and now with a family and career, etc., I don't have a lot of time to play anymore and so TW has become my game of choice when I do have downtime late in the evenings.

I guess it seems that it will be re-given to us in the form of TW2010, but this is sure a big slap to the face of their loyal PC market customers... not to mention not a wise business move from the standpoint that there are virtually no decent golf titles for the PC anymore...

Very very disappointing EA. I hope that you change your paradigm related to this franchise as you are obviously missing the boat here.

I am disappointed that there is no TW for PC this year, though the changes made from 06 to 08 were very small. Rather than yearly releases for TWPC, I think it would make more sense for the market to have bi-annual releases or even less frequent, but offer support through patches. Get some advertising deals, etc. The PC market is changing, not going away, and game development needs to adapt along with it. My 2 cents.

I have my facts straight....Bay Hill is new for the 360 and PS3....which means that the course was built from the ground up taking advantage of the new rendering engine in 09.....

I would tend to agree with you unless substantive changes were made yearly. I started playing TWPT on the PC with the 07 release & I personally found the changes year-to-year to be worth the purchase.

I think it is a disaster...I was with EA since the commodore days. but tiger woods was one of my favourite pc games. so how long b4 nhl follows suit... I do not own a console nor at my age want to own one.I love my hogh end PC...hopefully some company will notice the void made by EA abandoning its faithful customers.
Obviously the $$ has spoken loudly and customer support on a p;atform means nothing. If we do not makle big dollars we will abandon you...a sad sad day in the gaming world for sure....I just dom't like the idea of never playing Tiger Woods on my PC again

I agree. If EA is abandoning the PC platform then they can keep their games. There TW versions have not been all that impressive anyway.

well I knew the day would come when there would be no more pc version for tiger. I cant believe that a company as large as EA cannot put out a game for pc version when it has been doing so since 1996. I mean back then we had an internet tour with 20,000 top prizes and now we don't even have a game??? its truly a sad day for me even though I didnt play 2008 much but that was for personal reasons not the lack of gameplay or anything in 2k8.

well to all my good friends ave made from playing tiger over the years I hope everyone has found something to pass the time in the evenings we used to relax with some good old golf and rippin of each other those were the good ole days. take care guys and maybe ill see some of you down the road.

I am a retired Senior. I play TW on my notebook, which has a 1680*1050 display, and runs just fine, thank you. I puchased and run TW2008, but cannot access any of the published cheats because the PC version seems NOT to have that password field the non PC versions have that enable the cheats to be used. However I have not been able to get that confirmed by Support at EA <grin> I am very disappointed in the lack of the PC version of 2009, in the lack of a course designer for courses here in Canada that are not otherwise available, of the lack of the new features that seem to be in the 2009 version for those silly boxes that are NOT computers and are great for children in my view. I will NOT buy an Xbox, etc... I simply do NOT NEED THEM. I still use a ROTARY PHONE! It works just fine, and by pressing a * button it switches to touch tone for banking, etc., so why pay the phone company MORE for touch tone and to be annoyed when they try to upsell service. It seems EA is doing the same thing by abandoning the PC for 2009 for this game and a number of others. They are trying to assist the manufacturers of those silly boxes, I guess... and may in fact be getting a kickback of some sort for only producing these games in forms that only work with their custom boxes. BRING BACK THE PC VERSION! I will NEVER buy one of the others! I am already using a box that cost well over a thousand dollars, when I use my notebook, after all.
