I see a lot of people bitching about how "unfair" and "terrible" this is gonna be.. bla bla bla

The matter of fact that spending your energy on worrying about when the game is gonna be released or not, won't help you a bit. Like with all previous releases, they release it when they're ready.

I think since we PC users have to wait longer we should get a 4th map. Give us Midway! Also, is there a possibility of a beta to test PC performance?

Oh and i really wish there were battleships and scout pointing out targets. I downloaded the demo for 1942 to play it again, and nothing was more fun then being a scout and targeting the enemy's last capture point and then watching the nearby battleship plumet it for almost a whole minute before our team mates cried out for us to stop so they could take it. The people in the battleship and I were laughing evily as it happened. I want that with the Frostbite Engine.

They chose to create the core game as a console game, there is no retracting this, or hiding it.

I could care less at this point anyway, 1943 is just a joke game anyway, it is only meant to serve as a battlefield demo to get the casuals to try it out.

If they screw around with the Real BF for the PC, then we've got a problem.

This game is just supposed to be a snack. In all honesty I wish they would just port the damn thing over in a day, and start working on a REAL game.

Gamespot 1943 PC ranking dived 500 points yesterday, even after my early morning searchfest. Thats hilarious.

They already said no public beta, just an internal. There isn't a whole lot of content in this game to test.

They're not going to do PC version afterwards as many say. It's just that PC version takes longer then console ones.

Well, Gordon, if EA/DICE were truly concerned about the PC Gamer, they would have waited 3 months and released all versions of the game at the same time. But I know, and you know, it's all about money. You say you want to "make this a proper PC version", and that you have given it a lot of thought? Oh my...

Most of us here in the forums are obviously fans of the game, and we patiently await word of upcoming releases. We know DICE has the best talent on the earth, and that the Battlefield franchise is rock solid. But let me tell you something, if another game comes along that rivals your product, players will drop Battlefield like a bad habit. Why you may ask? I'll tell ya, it's because of false promises, lackluster communication with the fan base, server crashes (like BF2142), kick to desktop, and others factors.

- Please stop being so secretive about releasing information on upcoming projects. Just tell us what's going on, as we are part of the process as well

- Drop Punkbuster. It doesn't stop cheaters, and only causes us more problems than preventing cheats

- Communicate more frequently with your fan base (yea, us folks who actually buy and play your games)

- Don't promise patches like the BF2 1.50, and deliver it years later. By the way, and for some reason, I pictured some single rookie programmer working on the patch in a back storage room at DICE headquarters, wigged out on his Mountain Dew.

- Ask your team to please read the forums on a daily basis, and answer our questions. That makes us feel better, because we actually think you care, even though you may care less.

Thanks for listening

I read in a interview that the Dev are thinking of changing the health regen and unlimited ammo as well as more player count for PC.

We were only allowed to play the PC version and there is and there will be some differences according to Patrick. "We have some other requirements from the PC players. It is they who comment most on the web. We certainly do not want to make a discarded porting. It must feel like a real PC game. I can not go into details, but it will be more ... more than the console versions. "He reveals that they look up possible alternatives to the regenerative health and ammo on the PC version. Since you do not have the same limitations in terms of servers and online games from Sony and Microsoft on the PC format, check also the possibility to not be limited to 24 players, which is maximum in the console versions.

I must admit this has a unfortunate side effect to PC gamers. I built my very first PC for BF2 and loved it incredibly (678:57 total play time). At that time I felt like Battlefield was a franchise that put the PC gamers first and we loved DICE for it.

Now I'm not a developer. I can't convince people that the delay is unjustified or has legitimate merit. All I know is that to the gamer this does feel a bit like we are 2nd priority. We have been waiting for BF3 since the updates for Bf2 ended (September 05, 2006) but the "next gen" systems get the attention. As we wait, 1943 is the only bit of affection we get, but not before we are told we are the last on the list to get mommy's kisses. Its like, when did we become the step child?

Some people can live with the delay and thats fine. But I also must nod my head in agreement to the negative feedback. If the delay is truly about making 1943 play/run/ have the features of a PC game, then awesome. So many console developers (Capcom) do lazy ports and that should by all means be avoided (Add gamma adjustments and widescreen please). But the feelings stand. We've been playing since 1942 and were ignored for the next gen systems.

The PC is what made the Battlefield franchise what it is today. Turning their back on us would not be in their best interest. There have always been complaints about the bugs and patches so give the developers a break and let them work on getting us the best game possible. Selling the console versions early is going to help fund the PC development I'm sure.

BF2 is the best game ever!!!

A huge * you to the developers. You guys completely forget who made you and what you are (the original battlefield: 1942 players.) You guys completely cut corners by not even bothering to patch existing games (ie BF2), not releasing Bad Company for the PC, and not even mentioning anything about the future of Battlefield 3. It's complete * that you guys haven't even optimized the engine for the PC ahead of time. Even Battlefield :Heroes isn't even out yet for the PC. It's pathetic to see how some companies can completely forget about the community that gave them the most.

I think DICE has something big for us PC guys so they feel that the can do these things like release consoles first, stuff like that. They know what awaits us so they feel this won't really affect us much. I just hope the announcement of BF3( the next Hardcore game) is soon because everyone is getting a little bit angry and disappointing on how things are going. Announcing BF3 will be a smart thing for DICE to calm down the PC guys so they stop criticizing that they have forgotten us.
