Please it should be obvious why I dont string long winning streaks......that DAMN SERVE of mine.
How ridiculous was that tiebreak???? 13-11 you won it right?
I was so totally caught up in how much you were attacking the serve that I started to obsess over it and think WAY too much of the score than the shots.
I mean you saw what I ended up having to do in the last few games, those stupid slowy undery serves...I was THAT desperate.
It is happening more and more to me, and it is strange because before I never had this problem with the serve. I guess the opponents are getting better.
Your serve was nothing special at all, if you dont mind me saying, but not once did I hit a winner of it. I cant even remember how many winners you hit off my serve!!! Dozens.
If I am honest I dont think I felt the same intensity coming from your groundstrokes tonight compared with the other times we played, you had me under much more pressure before. I felt if I could get into a rally with you, then I was the favourite to win the point.
I wish I could have served second, I was really not enjoying having to do so much effort to win my own service games!!

Well, the serve of my defensive baseliner is even weaker than Evert's (I played her a few times). Defensive baseliner and no serve ability. However it's possible to reach most "monster returns".
What drives me always crazy that it's sooo hard to hit winners against you. You're reaching almost every ball (9 of 10 potential winners), even after lying on the floor! The only way to hit them from the baseline is outthinking (but I don't have enough concentration for permanent offensive thinking during several matches, because I additionally have to defend YOUR outthinking), other ways are returns, return + volley, serves (with my offensive baseliner) and net play.

Evert really is the female Nadal in this game, good thing so few people bother playing with any of the females

Regarding reaching everything, it is a combination of things, not just Evert being some super duper reach-every-ball no matter what-type player.
Firstly last night I was very very concentrated and really trying to think where you were going to hit the ball. It was my predicting correctly your shots that put me in the right position more than just the character having some super speed. I have played against weaker hitters who have hit more winners against me, for example. Its all in the head.
I remember getting some shots in out matches and I was like "whoa i have NEVER been stretched like this before"!!!
But I play this way with Venus Williams too so I again think it has more to do with the players own eye more than the characters ability.

So many quitting cowards online!
I can't believe that there are so many players, who don't play against high ranked people. The rank of such honorless quitters has no value at all! Doesn't this fact bother them at all?
I can't understand them. I never quitted on someone because of his rank. When I was low-ranked, I played my best tennis against high-ranked people because I was 110% concentrated.
Some of these sissies don't play against high-ranked players, some don't play against highER ranked players and the ultimate sissies even don't play against players who are ranked slightly behind them.
Well, they seem to prefer to play against alternative, low-ranked accounts which make them lose a lot more points.

Some people use lag as an excuse, some players avoid net players, some avoid higher ranks, some avoid people serving first, and some simply avoid players who arent complete pushovers. The hardest thing about moving up in rank is finding people to play because once you've played/beaten someone enough they wont play you either and you'll have to find a new person to play. The climb into the top 500 or so is a lot more fun then the climb after that.

When I play with a low-ranked account, nobody quits. But whatever high-ranked account I play with, the higher the rank the more quitters. Against my highest ranked account 60 to 70% quit (and I don't play with Nadal which could be another quit reason too).
So they definitely quit because of the rank and not because of lags (which would be acceptable) for example.

I find less people quit when I use Nadal or Evert or Borg or Hewitt than when I play with Roddick or a created player, I assume they fear the serve bug.
I also assume they quit once your rank gets high because they fear cheap tactics that they dont fear when you're using a lower ranked player because if your lower ranked player was getting the serve bug for example his rank would be higher, failing to realize almost all the top players are on different personas now, so the rank doesnt actually show much.
Or of course they may have played you on a different account and didnt like the way things went. Either way I simply start a new character once I reach a certain rank now because id rather play the game then wait 15 minutes to find a match to move up a pointless rank.

CmonChrissy, are you trying to become No. 1, or what? You moved fast upwards over the last days. But why the -1 now?

Hehehe well to be honest I dont know how I have got that high, I thought 8 would be as far as I could make it. I think what has helped is that I luckily play a lot of matches against top 100 players, which gives me more points than I would get if I played lower ranked players.
Also, I think I get a lot of rematches against good players because they see my style and probably think they SHOULD be beating me, so they go for a rematch, only for me to play even better in the following match!!
My -1 is thanks to that devil TheBestIsPS!!! HE is a great one for rematches. We have played many marathon sessions. I normally beat him, but the matches are often VEEEEERYYYY long dramatic affairs! Philbear82 has helped A LOT in pushing up my ranking, we have plaed a ton of close matches too!
Yesterday me and BestisPS played 5 times, I won the first four (saving mutliple match points!!!!) only to lose the last one!!
I was gutted to lose it, but he deserved it, consistently attacking me with serve volley, he wore me out mentally!
I lost more points with that one defeat than all the points I won for my four victories......but I didnt mind too much because of how happy I was at winning the previous matches after being sooo close to losing!!!!
I wish I could play more agianst the very top guys. I have no motivation at all to play against low ranked players, which is a shame because I know when I was ranked low I LOVED playing the top players. I am sick of playing crappy matches against them, or them giving up , or simply disconnecting before the match starts , so now I only play vs top 500 players. I guess I am contributing to the problem too, but I guess I just like a challenge.
I dont think I will get higher than 4 anyway. Those 5 matches against BESTISPS really left me tired, and though I won 4 and lost one, I ended up with less points than when I started playing him, And he is in the top 50!!!!!!!
I dont think I will have the patience or time to ever reach number 3!
I am very curious to play CObrasMano again though. Has anyone played him recently? I have seen him online but cant seem to arrange a match with him. Also, I have only played ONCE against anyone in the top 10, Brouche a month or so ago. Where the hell are those players????
It was a pleasure to play him though, he whoooped my *!!!! But I loved his style, very thoughtful and powerful too.
Epon we should play each other more on our "power accounts" for extra pressure!!

Its hard to find top 10 players because most of them have stopped playing entirely, at least on their 'top' account, Ive run into some of them on their alt accounts. Id actually say about half the top 100 have stopped playing so its getting harder and harder to find decent players. Seems very common for players to simply hit a wall due to both patience and ability to win enough once they reach a certain point so they simply move on.

I played Cobras a few days ago. A nice match, not only because I won.
Then, tonight, I played against "SpainGST" (the name of his website), a 0-defeat-account. First, I thought "he's probably going to quit" before the match starts and I was surprised he didn't. He (Federer) served, I hit a winner return (hard-hitting, offensive baseliner), THEN he quitted. Sooo weak!
His 0 defeats mean therefore nothing.

Yeah I played Cobras last week too in the weekly (hopefully still, today's the first time it hasn't happened) mini tourney type deal on the OLW community. I won the first match (round robin 3 gamer) in a tiebreak and he won the second (championship, doh!) 6-3 iirc. Hes very good no doubt, and our games matched up well against each other. I look forward to playing him more in the future and hopefully can take win some more :p At least for me, its always easier for me to play anybody once I get more familiar with their game, learning their tendencies during rallies and on big points (set/match/break).
If any of you guys wanna play any scheduled ranked or unranked long or short matches I'm always up for it. My main account (which I primarily use to play long unranked matches with at this point) is still in the low 90s but I've beat probably a good 20ish of top 100 players so I can hopefully make things somewhat competitive

Who cares? Nobody even looks at player winning pct. or how many losses someone has. People see a rank and that's it.

Who cares? Well I think the point Epon is making is that CobrasMano used to post here a lot and complained about the very same thing, and claimed not to care about win loss ratios or losing ranking points. I guess if it WAS him playing as SpainGST and he DID disconnecting for fear of spoiling a loss free acount, then it is quite ironic!
From what he has claimed though, he DOES seem to be a fair player. I n any case Iwould love to thrash him again, I tried to look at that SpainGST page but the link wouldnt work.
Any ideas on how to join? I am desperate for a challenge.
