Things I like
There are some good new animations
Teambuilder of course
Game planning (although I havent used it that much)
Things I dont like
I am pretty disappointed with this years game. There really is not much difference than last years game with the exception a few adjustments. I hate it b/c I have been playing NCAA since it was Bill Walsh's College Football. Guess my expectations were too high. My big complaint, being an Alabama fan, is that there are no numbers on the side of the helmet during the game. It looks like a Penn State helmet with Crimson and White. It was all downhill after that.
I bought a PS3 when NCAA football first came out on the system a couple of years ago. I thought last years game was much better than the first effort on the PS3. I was hoping this years game would continue that trend. In my opinion it did not, although it appears that some people are enjoying the game and others are not.So to each his own. I guess I will try out Madden this year.

Thoughts:
Things I like about NCAA Football 10:
- capability to mess around with the jerseys
- over the shoulder catching
- new plays on offense
- pre-snap run/pass commit
Things I think can be improved:
- ROSTERS: several teams have awful rosters. All-conference corners at back-up safety, quarterbacks who have transferred/graduated starting over the real-life starter, etc.
- more camera views
- smarter offensive lineman: watch how they run block and overpass people standing directly in front of them
- realistic broken tackles and animations

Things I like about NCAA Football 10:
- The added player animations. I love them! The hard work paid off in this area
- A proper pocket formed by the O-Line. Stepping up in the pocket actually pays off more often. Good.
- QB's seem to have more pocket presence and escapabilty. If this is based on awareness and/or elusiveness you
guys hit a home run. Good job.
- The deep ball and the passing in general is much better
- The pursuit angles are fixed. No more cheap junk. Kudos
- AI seems to be improved a little bit. Not many cheesy no look one handed DB bat down
- Overall the game feels more like NCAA in its hayday on PS2, but there is much work to do (God I need a time
machine lol)
Things I think can be improved:
- Everything. Less time spent on gimmick features and worthless presentation and more spent on gameplay.
I don't care about Erin Andrews or a mascot game.
- AI sliders don't work just like last year before the patch.
- QB's are way too accurate.
- No referees on field. inexcusable. Especially when compared to Madden 10's in game presentation.
- The crowd and sideline players look like they took an acid bath-and then self cut their own faces.
- No Div II teams. No excuse for that. It's 2009 not 2001.
- There should be a dusk to night and a late day to dusk effect. Like MLB the Show this year. That ish
is beautiful!!!
- No ball rotation. (Yes it matters...fix it)
- Lastly this series needs to be given the same care and attention that Madden gets. Until that day people
will see the difference. It's unfair to us college junkies.
General notes about the game:
I have been a loyal fan of this series since the PS days before Tiburon even started developing this series. I have not bought Madden since the 2001 PS2 game and I have bought all of the NCAA games since the PS days. Needless to say I don't have Madden to fall back on if NCAA falls short, so I expect more from NCAA every year. Lately I have been unimpressed. I should not look back at NCAA 07 or 08 on PS2 and say to myself that they were better than these next gen games, but that is the case.

I'll give my opinion once the patch comes out. I'm thinking I'm gonna hold off playing until then.

Things I like about NCAA 10
Gameplan
Graphics/Authenticity
Gameplay in general
Progressive Lighting
Things that NEED to be improved on NCAA 10
REFS!! Please put REFS back on the FIELD!!
Sideline life/ crowd interaction. Like cut screens and have players on the sideline wearing real equipment
Make the presentation of Dynasty mode more like RTG...more users use dynasty
Player equipment (Helmets, Facemasks..so many new ones now that aren't on the game)
Allow gang tackles of more than 2 people
Sideline late hit FLAGS
More field degration
Option pitches are a little crazy still
Screen plays work WAY to often
Players change direction to easily/quickly (maybe improve physics a bit)
Take the Weather Channel Live Feed to the next level and have weather change during the course of a game
When snowing make lines where players are tackled etc as well. not just foot prints.
At times the computer QB on Heisman is too accurate/automatic
General Thoughts
Pretty solid game. Upgrade from last year. When you play CPU its not always a walk in the park anymore which is nice. Game feels good and I think its moving in the right direction

First off, I'd like to state that the last football game I bought and played was Madden 08, and I haven't picked up an NCAA game since whichever was the last before the current generation of consoles. So... yeah, it's been awhile.
Things I like about NCAA Football 10:
-Gameplay. It isn't perfect, but its the best I've seen in a long, long time.
-Tackling. I love how tackling works now, plain and simple. I got quite a kick when my UH WR managed to get smacked, and managed to wriggle away from what should've been a for sure tackle.
-Injuries. Okay, I'm seeing people complain about this, but I have to feel there's some ignorance/selfishness involved with that. In real football, minor injuries happen ALOT. In previous NCAAs/Maddens, I rarely had to deal with injuries. What's the point in having a depth chart if you don't have to have someone ready to step up? Don't lower their frequency!
-AI. The computer seems to... learn, now. Gone are the days of having "go to" plays I could call in desperation whenever I just NEEDED that first down/touchdown. I might be able to use a few choice plays to string together a decent drive or two, but after that the CPU will adapt and the utilizing the same strategy will result in my beloved Cougars going three and out. Instead I have to think, and I like that.
-Online dynastys. Okay, I know they were in 09... but I didn't play 09! So, props.
-Running. I still think the CPU tends to bork it up too often, but overall running the balls feels more... natural. No insane, gravity defying cuts, and running straight ahead will usually result in you atleast trying to "push" the pile. No more bouncing helpless off your own O-lineman's *.
-Pass defense. I enjoy seeing players going for deflections when they should be going for deflections, and not managing to use the Force to intercept passes they should, at best, try to knockdown.
Things I think can be improved:
-Season Showdown. C'mon, did anyone REALLY expect the numbers to go any other direction that the one it is now? Also not shocked to see UT trying to top out the negative sportsmanship points... While it's fun to see where your school is, who is doing what, ect, ultimately there's probably about 10 school that stand any chance of winning, and soon Ohio State will (predictably) run away with it.
-Dynasty mode stats. Seriously? This was an issue in 05/06, and it's STILL HERE!!! I shouldn't have to screw with sliders and up the quarters to 7/8 minutes to create offensive numbers comparable to those of the simmed games. I'd LOVE to see a system where the simmed games were based on how long folks where playing their games. Have the simmed stats balance around the player, don't force the player to try and fit himself into the Dynasty system. As it is, the simmed stats are still a bit... outrageous. How many teams really get 400 yards a game, and then find themselves only in the middle of the road in offensive rankings? Needs an overhaul, desperately.
-Showdown+Dynasty! Okay, I like getting points for my school... what I don't like is sacrficing passing yardage at the end of the game to avoid loosing oodles of sportsmanship points. I lost 50 points for throwing a screen in the third quarter, only up 41-7. It's not like I bombed it deep while up 70-0 at the end of the 4th. Ultimately, this is gonna cause me to lose out passing yard stats, simply because I'm trying hard not to be another * costing the Cougs a few points.
-College Atmosphere. It doesn't exist. The gameplay rocks, and I'm more of a fulltime football fan than college football fan so I can deal with it, but I'd love to see some work in this department.
-Broken sliders. Okay, I know they're getting fixed... but it bugs me to see something like this get into a release. It's sloppy, and once something starts to bug me in the game I'd like to be able to use the sliders to balance it to my tastes.
-Lack of referees/chain gangs. Is it REALLY that hard to program them in to ATLEAST function like they did on the older consoles? Okay, maybe it is... but I miss them.
-FCS Schools. I've always marveled at the idea of being able to play in the FCS, as it's a really interesting place in college football. I'm sure, though, that EA is happy to not double their roster load, not to mention programming in a whole new Dynasty mode for the little guys. But why can't I play as Texas State and get to jump for joy when Texas Tech's back-up QB decides he'd rather transfer down in order to get playing time before his college career ends? Heck, why can't I play real FCS schools with the I-A schools...
Overall: 8
It's a solid game, indeed fun, but there's a few glaring issues that need addressing. Dynasty mode in particular. I love Dynasty mode, but without being able to play games that are properly balanced with the rest of the world, it can become frustrating. Not to mention I shouldn't have to make my offensive look worse just because FCS West can't put up more than a single lucky bomb into the endzone. Dynasty mode IS what makes NCAA games replayable, and improving it improves the replayability of said games.

This is last years game, with some tweaks, and the biggest feature, team builder, is broken due to the fact that it's nearly impossible to link Gamertag to EA account without the aid of some sort of voodoo magic.

Things I like:
Receivers not being able to make the easy catch in traffic and double/triple coverage anymore
AI defenders able to pick off option pitches and going for tackles rather than backing away
Passing during contact more realistic
Being able to call audibles at the line of scrimmage w/o switching formation
Defensive keys
Active voice chat in online dynasties saves times from typing messages
Things I don't like:
Highlight stick on offense is too unreal...leads to way too many broken tackles
Still not being able to play a rated game online at heisman level
Superman interceptions with too many opportunities/too easy to pick six
When the camera angle at the line of scrimmage zooms out and doesnt immediately return to normal view

Yeah, Kev, I have to agree with you on these two points. I have not had a game without a major injury on at least one of the sides yet. I'm afraid if this keeps up, I'm not going to have a team to field, hehe... And defensive back play is still a bit jacked. I love to see them bump the receivers (though sometimes it seems there should probably be a penalty for them), and I especially love watching Neb's DBs laying the wood on WRs.

Things I like:
Punt Return Coverage is much better, the lines are much better and I am not afraid to punt the ball inbounds anymore.
The lame duck throwing is great, I like the risk that comes with throwing as you get hit, it is a lot better than being resigned to a sack, and makes for tense moments as the ball flutters in the air.
The Speed has been much improved, no longer is an 88 speed player who is a great catcher worse than a 96 speed player with mediocre hands.
The Gameplanning is great, I love the fact that I can change my players tendencies to fit how I play, if I am afraid of turning the ball over, I can limit them. Also, the ability to change whether the players come back to the QB or go deep is much appreciated.
The Run Game is great, which ties back into the speed thing, I don't have to have a blazing HB to break a big run. I am an Oregon fan, and using LeGarrette Blount is fun, He does have good speed, but in the past a 92 wasn't outstanding, you would be caught, now I can break big runs with him, as in real life.
Player Lock is amazing, I love the camera angle flip, it makes playing defense so much more fun.
Things I dislike:
The Special Teams minigame is broken. I played with my buddy for a while, and twice the game ended in a win when he punted the ball out of bounds, and if you kick the ball out of bounds and a player catches it the game places the ball back where it was punted from, for the opposing team. Also, I managed to coffin corner a punt out at the two, and I got penalized....yet my buddy kicked punts out at the 20 to 30 and got no penalty. Also in Horse, I made a field goal clearly yet failed to get credit for it, making me worry about whether that could happen in a real game (It snuck inside the right goal post, but was clearly in)
Schedules seem to be broken in Dynasty, at least for Oregon, as nice as it is for Oregon to get Cal, USC, ASU, Oregon State, and Washington State at home, it is supposed to alternate, and it hasn't for the first year of my dynasty, the home and away schedule in conference stayed the same from first year to the second.
Also the injuries may be a bit excessive, but as an Oregon fan, I have become accustomed to lots of injuries, so maybe they are just being realistic.
The fact that you don't get to play from the defensive standpoint in Player Lock online. It makes it useless.
Also, Seam routes are maybe a bit too effective, the man defense is improved, but it seems like when I need yards all I have to do is call 4 Verticals, and the inside receiver is typically available for 20 yards down the field, and sometimes more.
I haven't had a better feeling though than the game I played against USC with Oregon, that went to 5 overtimes. When I stopped their two point conversion in the fourth Overtime that would have won the game for them I was ecstatic. In the past, it would have been tough to stop McKnight running off tackle right out of goal line, at the one, as he woulda just fell forward, but seeing my two players manage to stand him up and shove him backwards was a great feeling, especially since a blocker had taken me out of the equation. Then when I dove into the endzone for the game winning two point conversion the sense of relief was amazing. 53-51, I wasn't upset at the CPU, they weren't overly accurate, as in last years game, it was just tough.

The Swex's Thoughts:
Things I like about NCAA Football 10:
- I like the new animations. There are some realistic ones this year. My favorite is when you player gets grabbed and he staggers around hopping on one foot before going down.
- The stadiums look great!
- I thought the game would be to hard, but really it's nice to have to work for your touchdowns.
- The Gamplan is a fun addition that provides risk for reward and I like that.
- Teambuilder rules.
Things I think can be improved:
- The patch for the sliders needs to hit soon. Being able to make your game customized with those sliders for me is one of the best features.
- Road to Glory. To be honest I hate it. Because of the AI coach and it's rediculous playcalling that pretty much never lets you play.
- Line blocking needs improving. Guys still let go way too often and give up big blocks.
- Rosters need fixing. But we all knew that one.
General notes about the game:
Overall I'm pretty happy with most of the game. For me though, having my favorite mode completely ruined by horrible play calling takes a lot of the fun out of the game for me. That being said, there's still enough here to keep me having fun.
I wish more bands had sent their routines in. It seems like hardly any of them did and that's a shame. I was a member of my college's marching band, so it's a shame more schools didn't take pride in this. EA has a great concept here.

First off, let me say that you all have done a great job with the Teambuilder feature for the PS3, but the way the Teambuilder website is set up, a lot of thing can be done different within in it. I'm playing the PS2 version of the game while a friend of mine has the PS3. I haven't played a single game on the PS2 game, but I have entered names for 2 team's rosters and let me tell you it was cumbersome at best.
Things I loved about 2010 PS2:
Updated uniforms (I guess this was the least you all could do graphically for the game).
Things that could be added changed or I did not like:
- Stadium Updates should be made on the PS2 version just like the PS3 and Xbox 360 - Shame on you EAsports for making improvements to the stadiums on the PS3 and 360 consoles, but not to the stadiums on the PS2. Miss. State's and Ole Miss' new video boards aren't even in this game.
- Rosters need to be updated accurately - I've entered roster names for both Miss. State and Ole Miss, and the rosters leave little to be desired. The Ole Miss roster was fairly easy to name, but Miss. State's on the other hand was a complete nightmare. It seemed as EAsports used last year's roster to make player's positions. So many players EAsports named aren't even on the Miss. State team.
If you are just going to halfway update rosters, I probably won't purchase your game next year and I been buying your game every year since it was on the Sega Genesis when it was named College Football USA back in '95-'96. The things that I listed above that need chaning should be on the game before it is released that year - Anything else is unacceptable. Times are hard and money spent to buy your game should demand a product worthy of its money.

This game is awesome, all i can say is that you have to have STICK in order to win online or verse cpu, you guys made it alot harder to do quick slant routes etc. vs. last year it was ez I like that make us work. great job EA!!!

There is just one problem I have with NCAA football 2010...the playbooks. I have gone through so many different SEC and ACC playbooks trying to find one that fits what I need/want for my team. Each team has different formations that I would love to use, but only being able to use one teams plays at a time limits me to being able to use 2 or 3 formations of my liking each game. I'd love to be able to go through and pick a set number of formations and set those as my personal playbook. That way I would never be hurting for a certain play that I saw in another teams playbook. Other than that, the game is really nice....especially in HD.
