hey vic, just wanted to ask a question about the mentality of the Dev team, would you say that you have the same mentality as the FNR4 team? what i mean by that is FNR4 was the first FN to have tyson but they realised tyson wasnt tyson if there was no inside fighting so they buld a better system for that.
So do great devs think alike? (flatery gets you everywhere) can we expect to see the clinch of a couture or hendo, the ground skills off an aoiki or jacare, or the shear raw power of a guy like manhoef portraid acuratly in this game?
and dont worry rocky said you can answer so its all good

YES! I havent had a whole lot of time to work with those guys, but I get good vibes whenever I talk to them. They are very much on point about their approch to making fighters feel like themselves. We are definately doing the same.

Actually it wasn't as bad as it looked. I took far more than were shown in the video though. It was definately worth it just to do any kind of training with Jacare.

Hello Vic looking forward to hear (and see ) more about how the gameplay is designed and what great innovations you´ve made in EA MMA that make it stand out from its rival.
Just to let you know i´ve been EA fan for years starting with NHL 98 for PS1 then with Fight Night PS2 when they introduced the Analog sticks in punching. Im sure EA will make similar innovations into MMA genre and hope EA MMA will be the start of a great franchise.
Lately these past years EA Sports games have been the leading edge of sports games in the innovations in controls, gameplay, animations and graphics. Im exited to see what EA MMA plays like, from the trailer it looks superb and seems to have the "EA it´s in the game"quality mark in it.

I asked this question over in Rocky's thread, but it probably pertains to you more.
Have there been any major challenges when it comes to designing the game, such as moves not animating properly for different fighters, fighters clipping through each other, ideas that sounded good at first that ended up scrapped?

There were indeed challenges, but thats half the fun of development. This is the first iteration of a new franchise so we all had tons of ideas. At the end of the day we have to pick and choose which ones will provide you with the best experience possible.

No specifics if you can't give them, but were there any ideas sparked by reading a thread here? Anything you've already determined wouldn't work for this year's iteration but will go into the next one?

We definately look for peoples expectations and ideas to help validate our features. If thousands of people are screaming for a feature its usually a good idea to implement it.
