this whole discussion leads nowhere, because there the one side saying "meh darkslides are unrealistic and buttugly" and the other side seeing a way to get more out of the game. of course every video done in the first week of skate will have at least a zillion darkslides, why? because its something new... and the truth is the ones screaming "take away that unrealistic crap" will be the first to copy it once they've seen it done the right way...

i believe(somewhat) that people arn't nessecarily(sp) mad that darkslides are unrealistic but the fact that s3 is becoming more and more like TH in everygame they make...

darkslides are just one more thing that will attract the TH audience and once they start to get money like that...it will just go down hill from there...

but this is just my opinion

I agree, this topic will get locked soon.I still stand by my statement that Darkslides are pretty cool, when done correctly.

Why is it Always mullen?, Are people forgetting that jerry Hsu and Geoff Rowley have both done the darkslide
Might want to put Boulala in the list also

I know the darkslide will be the first trick i try in S3

once again, they did those for fun, dont know about hsu but geoff and ali did them for fun, and rowley's darkslide is slightly different from mullens because he puts one foot on the middle of the board instead of having one foot on one end of the deck, and the other foot on the opposite side, realistic physics beat darkslides anyday in my opinion.

i think people dont see why adding little things like darkslides etc. are important in hind sight. adding these things means that they are building something know one has ever done a game with almost as much freedom as actual skateboarding. people ask for physics and all these other things and yet when given the opportunity to try something new and different they stick to the fads. i get so annoyed by people asking to be able to build a style when they have the chance to already yet dont attempt to. yes people have the same animations yet like in real skateboarding there are people who really look at it and do something different. i can almost guarantee that most people on this forum will build basically the exact same skate even if they were given the ability to do something different because they dont want to be different. they dont want to try new stuff they want to be given it

I think people are overlooking something I think is quite cool and exciting

if we're having underflips and darkslides, it could (and hopefully will) mean great control over the flips and stuff.

greater control = more of a challenge = more opportunities for creativity and such

I still remember being blown away the first time I saw Geoff Rowley landing one of these in a skate vid... so I dont mind at all, darkslides still have that magic quality in my mind

This is exactly what I was thinking. We've got to have some way to stop/control our flips/rotation if we can do these tricks now. Catching tricks, maybe? Whatever the mechanism, this can't be a bad thing.

Any trick that can be performed on a REAL skateboard, is A REAL TRICK.. Regardless of how many times it's been done.. It's the creativity of people like Mullen that has gotten REAL skating this far.. And it's the creativity of people like Pawn and whoever first learned double grinds in-game, that has gotten Skate THIS far.. Without them, I'd still be doing 3 foot high kickflips off of a 6 inch curb in the game.. Now when they start adding special moves to the pros, and the ability to add them to your skater, that's when I'm done.. Darkslides and underflips are awesome tricks.. You don't see a whole lot of people doing late flips or late shuvs, do you? No, not really.. So why whine and complain about darkslides and underflips, when I not once saw any complaining about late flips and late shuvs? Honestly..

I'm getting so fckin sick of people saying, "you want realism, go outside and skate"...

Take it from someone who's broken more bones then you can count, maybe I want to try things in-game that I wish I could try in real life so I don't bust my sht again. Maybe I don't want to eat sht trying a back noseblunt down a hubba.

Next time you skate a 10 stair rail in skate, say * it and go do it in real life instead, then you can say that sht.

Yeah, it's great.. they're adding tricks to the game.. it's opening up 'creativity'.. but they could still seriously improve on their gameplay for a truly amazing game instead of throwing us a few tricks here and there each year like Tony Hawk..

person above me, what are you talking about? people do late shuvs/late flips every day.. why would they complain about that? it was added at the beginning of the series anyway before they showed us their trend of adding tricks instead of changing gameplay and improving on the whole game.. it's like.. import a couple tricks here and there each year to make the community happy..?

In ANY skate video I ever watch, there's MAYBE 1 or 2 people that do any variation of a late flip, and I'm talking about REAL skate videos here.. They're so few and far between that the last time I remember seeing one, was in Fully Flared during Mike Mo's part.

Holy Hell you whiners whine too much. "OMG they aren't making it exactly how I want it to be...OMG." *slits wrists*

Y'all are a bunch of sissies. Too dense to realize that the other 700000 people that bought this game and don't post here are the fan base that is keeping this machine alive. Be glad you are getting a new game and be smart enough to know that there is 8 months left. Jeesh.

PS. I love the realism and all but I want a FUN TRACK PLAZA MOUNTAIN with nasty gaps and transfers.
