I also tried signing Brian Brohm for one year and offered him what he wanted and couldn't get him to sign until I paid him over 1 million for one year. He only wanted like 550k. BS. Then, the cpu goes and signs him for the 550k he wanted for one year. Do you get my point now?

but i haven't really encountered this problem thats why i was asking.
But i still think this isn't completley unrealistic, some guys just flat out dont want to play for a certain team. Or ask for too much then eventually realize they aren't going to get it

but dont get me wrong if it is that way for every single FA then its a different story, the only player i've ever had a hard time signing is McCalister

Wasn't trying to be a *. Don't misunderstand what I was saying. Yes, it is for every player. Like I said before, when you go to the screen that shows you what the FA would like and it shows his interest level in signing with the team if you meet all of those goals, it always reads "high". So I meet all those goals, offer the money and years desired to a player who's signability is "high" and I can't sign him. This is ONLY during the season though. I should've made that clear before. During the FA signing period at the end of the season, everything works fine. Always has.

ooo ok gotcha....most of the time i only sign in off-season, unless injury bug strikes...
i guess i agree then, although i think it makes it a little more realistic...(just so you cant sign everyone you want, or you can over pay them either way)

You didn't fix the open filed stutter. That right there automatically makes the update and this game complete and utter crap. Update #1 broke the damn game, we wait months and months for another update and you don't even fix it??

AND... You can still trade players after the trade deadline. Awesome update.

Just as I predicted. They would not update what was necessary to make the game worth playing.

They would not fix what they broke in the last patch.

They would break more stuff while adding things the game didn't need because it made the patch list seem comprehensive.

And of course that they purposely delayed the patch just so they could say it would be too late to work on another patch (since they will completely shift to Madden 11 now).

I have played a game and a half since the update today and every time I get near a QB they get rid of the ball. The 2 teams i have played are the steelers and the packers, basicly the 2 most sacked QB's in the league. So I believe the update was going to fix sacking issues with cpu QB's.............hmmm well it did now you can't get to them at all. lol

Nope, I was wondering why they didn't. They only added the Hawks lime green's. Dunno why the left out SD's and Cleveland's brown pants.

Come on! I bet that they are going to have all of those as DLC... It would be nice to get all of the old uniforms the teams wore like ESPN 2k5 did.

I was anticipating this patch so badly. Was looking forward to some updates mostly for offline franchise so i could finally get that started. And sure they improved the CB's tackle total to some degree, but your CB will need 80+ tackle rating to get anywhere near standard numbers. And yes they did improve rushing tds and rushing average to backups; But according to their offline franchise guy the only way to improve this stat lines for running backs (specifically the backups) was to increase the average for all backs. I didn't put to much thought into that and began a franchise. Just quick simmed through a season to see how it all ended up;

Jared Allen broke the single season sack record with 24 sacks, 13 other guys got 15+ sacks - Michael Turner holds the NFL single season rushing record with 2385 yards now ;P. He was one of NINE backs (200+ attempts) who had an avg/carry of over 6 yards. Haven't tried online yet and seen what this patch broke there, hopefully not an awful lot 'cause otherwise I'm just scrapping Madden 10 completly, 'cause what's the point now of playing seasons and games offline knowing that I'll have to put up 2000+ yards to even get my runningbacks into the pro bowl ? Ps EA just because Chris Johnson is currently averaging over 6 yards/carry and is on the verge of a 2k+ season doesn't mean that every other back in the league is capable of doing it. Awful job, offline wise this game is completely ruined for me now and as previous posters already mentioned; This patch was delayed so much that there's probably not gonna be a 3rd patch nor a quick hot fix to some of the most broken issues this patch brought along because of their focus for Madden 11, but if it's the same team all around working on Madden 11 I'll start shivering already - Because these guys and I don't know if it's that they're not even trying or the fact that they're not cut out for what they're doing but Madden 10 has been just awful as a whole . I'd let the graphics guys keep their jobs though and if the animation team can be just a little more creative for next year; keep them to. But the programmers, tuners, offline dudes and whatever - FIRE THEM! Ian Cummings; Fire him too. Heck, just scrap the exclusive rights agreement and let 2K produce a real football game for next year please!

Edit: While writing this post I'm browsing around and ended up at the "update" page for the guy, the ONE guy handling offline franchise, stats etc - Now this info was posted awhile ago and before the patch release obviously but still it just proved my point on how BAD this whole thing has gotten: "Rushing averages
I'm trying to increase these for backups. The problem is...if I increase them for backups, they go up for starters too. After yesterday's tuning, Peterson and Turner are averaging 7.0 yards per carry. I'm working on bringing that down." So obviously the offline guru Josh didn't get much done after that post.. Still maybe I shouldn't blame him from what I've heard he had an EXTREMELY short period of time to even do anything about the offline issues. Still I need a sacrificial sheep for all my frustration; Ian Cummings - It's all your fault. Anyways I'll cool off and end this post with these thoughts; Is it really so hard to make a great reality based football game nowadays? I mean the rest of the EA products are pretty darn good, sure they have flaws and issues but they're still pretty realistic. How realistic is Madden 10 right now?

Absolutely stupid, they still manage to destroy the franchise SIM stats. You lower passing totals, and now you screw up the rushing totals. Good job, it's still broken, u fixed the left wheel but u broke the right one.

What bout 3-4 OLB sacks and what was the average for CB tackles? Not an exact number lol, but just a rough estimate.

OLBs in general seem to have better sack numbers. Im using a 4-3 team but the Chargers outside linebackers had 10 sacks and 7 sacks respectively so that is perfect.

They did fix the CB tackles but not completely it seems. The good tackling CBs usually have 60-80 tackles in the NFL. I noticed most have about 40-50 after the update. Now, there may be a reason for this as we cannot expect them to fix everything perfectly. I'm fine with 40-50 tackles for good CBs.

They could have made TACKLE stat worth less on a CB's overall, then raise the CB's tackle ratings 10-15 points each, since they're mostly in the 50's and 60's, this plus the stat tune from patch #2 probably would've made the good CB's do 60-70+ tackles a season easy, but they're probably not smart enough to figure this out.

This is why any organization worth its weight in IQ points would put out several smaller patches over shorter periods of time. Then you can see what you actually fixed and what you broke. Why won't EA do that? Simple. They have a quota on patches, internally. Why? Idiotic policy created by management.
