just bought this game, it wanted me update before i played, i did, now it starts, and when its just about game time... WHAM... crashes, i am running windows XP, any suggestions?

I tried doing something i read in another thread... changing the advanced settings of the sound device, anticking the two boxes witch lets applications take exclusive control over the device... apparently it worked for the one guy, but not for me, i played for an hour and then it crashed again...

gonna try all sorts of compatibility modes today...

Does any1 think it might have to do with win7 64bit? or are other OS's also experiencing this problem?

oh and as you can see that hour i played did not help my stats because of the game that crashes... so all that xp is lost, sucks

Well.. At least I can play multiplayer, but i didn't even get to finish the campaign We need some answers!

I can play MP for like 10min and then it crashes...

Tried various compatibility modes... no luck

Same here crashes on me every time i play mp now, either white screen and hear sounds or just like happened then, crash to desktop, if im gonna waste my time playing computer games i at least want the xp no seriously this sucks bad, i pre ordered well in advance, the 1st week i could not even play online and now when i could, i now can again.

I'm having the same problems aswell. My BC2 "carrier" has been like this: First 1 week of not being able to play anything at all in multiplayer. Rant on forums, only to be told by fanboys to shut up (on these forums only happy hippie people with nothing bad to say is allowed to talk). Then suddenly one day after 2 weeks of gaynes everything suddenly works! ( :O ) Amazed and happy I play the game and start to forget about all the fking BS I had to go through to play the product I've payed for. Then maybe 2 days ago, back to the start, can't connect, getting stuck on loading screen with only option to close the game from task manager etc. Excelent patch!!!! I would love to hear what this recent patch was supposed to "fix", I mean what it changed except making everything gay again. Kkthx. And I tried going back to MW2, but it seriously is no fun now that BC is out..

well the country i live in still has CoD4 servers and it is still seen as one of the best games, and CoDMW2 is starting to become more and more popular, i have not played any one of the two online, but have at LANs, so i decided to buy BC2 for online play, and my first 15 mins was absolute heaven! but the fact that i HAD to dload a massive "patch" in a country where bandwidth is still pretty expensive, and then only find that the product does not work, made me go back to CoD, doubt that i will ever buy another bf game, as i had problems with BF2142 back in the day as well...

just patched yesterday and it crashes when im in a multiplayer game!!!!!!!!!!!!! WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Like when i blow up a tank or something random!!! HELP EM PLSSSSSSSSSS!!

looks like theres a new patch., just ran the updater seperately, and it is dloading a patch, didn do it yesterday so it must have been released today, hope it solves the problem... worth a try

it didn crash to desktop, instead it just froze and made me close it with task manager... dont know if this was my connection that might have made the game unstable or what, but not likely, will play again and see...

Im having a similar error.. i go to join a game.. and once out of ever 8 games or so, BC2 just crashes to desktop!

Core i7 860 @ 3 ghz
4 gb Memory @ 1600 mhz
2 EVGA GTX 275 SC cards
1 1080p monitor
Razer Lycosa keyboard
Razer Lachesis mouse

Running win 7 ultimate

I had this same problem. When i clicked "Resume Game" in campaign I crash when loading.
I fixed this, by instead of clicking Resume Game, enter "My Campaign" and from there click Start Game.
I hope this helps for the people who crashes in single player. It worked for me.
