You're playing on a PS3 aren't you?
'Cause I've had the same reaction...
Most of these people are computer users...'parently it's had different results.

Just found this on the Atari TDU forums.

(the guy): "My bet is EA is trying to kill NFS so they can focus on something else. This has to be the case since the NFS series has gotten worse and worse with each release."

This sounds shockingly true. Using this logic, perhaps EA is trying to make quick money off of the series while they can, then "finally" dump the series for something "more profitable". Honestly, knowing EA's executives, that wouldn't surprise me one bit. I don't know if that's the case (I sincerely hope it is not the case) but that would not at all surprise me.

EDIT: from the same guy, as a reply to the post "Making games is more than getting money ..."
"not to a CEO it isn't."

Also, original poster of these quotes, if you're reading this, tell me if you are against me posting these here or posting your forum name here. I can't do much about removing the quotes but I'm not posting your name.

No longer checking NFS World forums as regularly as I would like, due to not having as much free time.

To contact me, PM me on NFSCars, NFSUnlimited, or TDUCentral. (RedCarDriver on all three sites)

EA did not come threw flat out and it really is when you get down to it the exact same as most wanted minus a few details but nothing worth making a new game over. Its almost like they rushed just to get it done and it shows.

It's a guarantee they rushed it. If you play the game, you'll notice the annoying quirks from an unfinished product. I will list a few:

1. Only one driving mode: casual. The driving nanny is beyond annoying. Let the car do what it was meant to do, drive. Let off the gas for a second and your car slows down like it has boat anchors. Worst, the view changes to a reverse-over-the-hood view. That won't put me into a wall...

2. Customization sucks. If you paint your car and decide to change a color of a specific part (spoiler), you get charged the full price of painting every thing. Decide to go back and paint the tires, same deal. Don't put the customization in if your not going to finish the code to get it right.

2a. Why EVEN have custom cars if they aren't going to show up online?

3. Rehashed the idiotic "tuning" from MW. Complete joke.

Someone posted earlier to go play juiced if I want to tune. Why? I could see if tuning hasn't already been apart of the game. It's one of the reasons to play NFS. There are plenty of games for those who want to crank up and drive. For those of us who like our signature rides that showcase our skill, tuning and customization is key. BTW, juiced sucked.

4. The story started out with potential, but I guess someone got tired and said lets not integrate it into the actual game. The ending? Holy crap!! I won't spoil it in this forum but it sucks like the rest.

I recommended Juiced as an example of a game that was primarily meant for tuners. Not for tuning. Car vs. play modifiability. The fact that it sucked isn't an issue here.
Allowing for difficulty setting would have been nice, but I always play hard so it doesn't make a difference for me.
Although customization is expensive the races give just enough cash to offset that aspect. And the code was finished, the methodology is just a little strange.
I couldn't care about showing my cars online, I don't play online. But showing off customization of cars would have been nice.
The tuning isn't rehashed. If you didn't notice, Most Wanted allowed for an aerodynamic change after purchasing a spoiler. This one doesn't bother adding that.
As for the story? It seems very integrated. Including missions that are a direct result of the story. Such as other gangs chasing you and you having to take out people so that they're cars won't move and the cops can easily bust them. Of course, you don't stick around you're wanted too. Most Wanted's story line was less integrated. Like what was with that guy driving the GTO? Was he really important or necessary?

Hitchhiking is nice...cows are nice too.
