I've been a COD4 admin for years so I know a hack when I see one (although sometimes suspicions remain just that) and there are a * load of hackers out there right now. I can hardly join a HC server without finding one (I'm referring to the servers with 24-32 players). The problem is that unless you are an admin there is no way to prove it (which is what EA needs, of course). My question is where the * is punkbuster? If it was doing its job, I wouldn't have to prove anything.

Dice, can't you afford to have atleast one person visit each server and monitor it for a length of time and see for yourselves? Yeah, I sent a message to the guy to stop. he was doing the quad bike boost. real lame, only way to kill him, was to jump on the quad, while he's repairing, then drive the quad out of bounds to explode. seems like a simple patch to not allow you to gain exp points while no one is on the quad. he had " ace" even though he probably didn't even kill anyone.

HEY DICE or EA how about a product that works. PB sucks and it doesnt keep hackers from cheating. What it does is keep some really die hard good folks from playing and enjoying your game!!! WHY NOT do something about that?????????

This Punkbuster is totally useless. I was playing in a server with Punkbuster on and the obvious hacker was getting scores of 54-2, 44-2, and 30-1 per round before I finally left. Since it is obvious that nothing is done and getting proof that someone is hacking needs to be beyond a reasonable doubt, why even bother notifying EA? This only gets me to get hacks myself. Who is going to prove that I am hacking with no spec mode? Thanks EA! Your policies on cheaters has created a new one, ME!

No, your weakness created a hacker, i play a lot and it's not ALL the time that i find a hacker, the problem is not that big.

That's your justification? I'm not sure how cheating makes anyone feel better about themselves, but if joining 'em is going to make you happy, blame only yourself if and when you find your account banned.

The funny thing is you can be approved by EA/Dice and PB to test hacks on any game. So why would they care if there are hacks out there?

Exactly, this is a cash cow and Electronic Arts KNOWS this. It's going to come down to some congressman/woman who gets really into a game, to find out they've been getting cheated all along. They'll soon realize resistance is futile, since conglomerates like EA hide the fact that they are in cahoots with the hack devs. This congress person shall then escalate the issue to a wealthy lawyer friend who see's nothing but $$, to which it will be heard in Senate hearings. Then the subject will be massaged further with the realization that internet laws must be changed; wherein the EULA is protecting the vendor (EA). I hope EA pays dearly for the ill-treatment they have forced upon the legitimate player base out there.

You could equate this injustice to a lot off issues this country is dealing with today. In the argument for legalizing *...Let's let people drink (and drive) themselves into oblivion (and take others with them) yet incarcerate a grower for providing medicine from a plant. Our borders... Let's provide health care, housing, government aid for criminal illegal aliens, yet tax the hell out of law-abiding citizen who get no handouts. Robin Williams we need your help...where are you? Hi Guys,

Been admining fps games since the internet started. Thought i'ds post here not about an individual cheat but a general cheat we have found in use. Our server runs pb live, which streams to pb directly. Before we installed this on our server (we have used it before in other fps games), we actually struggled getting any reports of cheats entering our server, after installing pb live we caught 68 players in 2 days trying to join our server.

From aimbots to gamehacks and md5 tools. However one cheat does get through and is very difficult to spot but I have seen it on our server at least 3 times along with our other admins.

There seems to be a cheat that enables the enemy red markers permantly in hardcore mode. Players who use this know exactly where you are all the time. The admins test a suspected player by hiding or positioning themselves in obscure places yet low and behold within a minute they are located and wind up dead. Our admins have posted at evenbalance to make them aware of this so hopefully it will soon be indentified and picked up automatically, but until then be aware of this if you find a player with very high kills and low deaths, also try the hide and seek method, do it at least 3 times or so, and you should be abnle to see if the player is supect or not.
