This all sounds great except I have been unable to get multiplayer to work in last 4 days. when it does work it crashes 3outa 4 times i have reported it. Ea has had me run traces and send dxdiag files and yet im still not able to play a mp round. others are also having a high number of rounds disconnecting before first tee shot taken. alll this is a burn on clubs and apparel. This needs to be addresses. other wise game works fine finished all obj on torrey yesterday and working to finish sheshan to advance to lvl 44. Just wanna play mps and wish it was more transparent what ea doing to fix problem from their end.

Sometimes you can be shown the light strangest of places if you look at it right!

Any of the popular 4 player 2v2 team based modes we've seen in the past, even including other popular golf games like Links. IMO, would be more appealing than just straight 1v1 match play which was disappointing to not already have at release. Most of the alt shot/scramble/bestball/fourball/links ryder cup (i tihnk that was links that had this, alt shot but both tee off and pick which ball to start alt from on each hole) should all be 2v2 team based playable game options.

More importantly I think we should be able to play more casually if we wanted to in team based foursomes. Such as being able to play with the stat boosts from gear count in the game but not actually get their rounds used up, while probably not being able to gather xp or $ as a balance option in a team based game. I always felt this should have been an option for any non tourney game. Anyway, when you do implement TBMP i'm hoping that's starting to lean toward making games more customizable, such as host FINALLY being able to select aiming difficulty options and not just course & conditions. Hoping you'll drastically improve player creation options after you do get TBMP up and working as well.

Been waiting to hear about potential updates like this before coming back to TWO. Still need more for some of us to shell out for a year subscription but this will finally be the first step towards that. Needless to say, when you make updates like this would have been willing to test & feedback on it as I always did, so sucks that it won't even be able to be tested by non subscribers though I understand. Need to see more improvements before I become an annual member, I just really hope you can pull it off before June 8th when new wii version comes out. If so, i'd sub to TWO and get wii version, but if TWO hasn't improved enough by then will be just wii version for me.

Wouldn't ask you to let non members play or test TBMP, seems like this was your plan all along to make it for members only. Tho would suggest to give an option for a one time 5$/ first month sort of "trial" for major updates like this. If you at least gave that option I'd be willing to try it for a month and if need be, waive my right to the double points offer for beta testers on the annual fee if I decided to annual sub later. But as it is, without getting to try TBMP and see any team based game modes you'll hopefully eventually add in action, it's still not worth 10$ just to try it for a month. 5$ yes, but not 10$.

Well, doubt you'd entertain the idea of the first month trial thing, or doing any TBMP-team-modes-for-non-members weekends, so guess I won't be getting to even test any of the new modes when you get them up, so here's to hoping you can pull some of the team based stuff off successfully before June rolls around and having to hear about the success from word of mouth. Would love to be playing both games by then, but would settle for just the 1 if TWO doesn't make the big steps it in time to compete.

Greg,

Once again your posting of additional information regarding TBMP is welcome and very appreciated news.

I can't speak for anyone else but having this knowledge of your plans for TBMP does lift my spirits regarding the promise and potential of TWO being realized. I have always said that "information is knowledge and knowledge leads to understanding" and in this case, for me that rings true.

Good news Greg but if the game face settings are not any diff all you will see is players with maybe diff clothes,but body and faces all the same shape and size

Suggest EA takes a look at SHOTONLINE, all the multiplayer options are spot on, exactly what TWO needs. Also since converting from SO the community aspect is very poor. A chat lobby of sorts is a must here.
If a decent tbmp option can be done properly I'll sign up.

Greg I also think it's important to add the tournaments based on scoring averages, with easy, medium, hard. advanced and expert tournaments, that you had mention was coming in the future in a previous beta.

The reasons I think this is important, is for proper player ratings (teiring) to be in place to aid in fair match set ups. Also I need a tournament to play at my settings LOL

Greg, alot of my friends from TW08 from Europe really want Alternate shot as thats all they play and they will not play it unless they can see the great avatars that TW08 had in game face ( your own avatar and opponents ). I told them it's all coming and they really purked up.

FANTASTIC! Can' wait. How about being able to play against avatars of real pro golfers too.. maybe some of the greats like Bobby Jones, Slamming Sammy, Arnold and Jack, Gary Player and the like... Wonderful game people, just gets better and better.

its great im happy but i want a few things more

1- 1 scorecard for daily,group tourny's.
2- weekly tournys overhaul ....

the weekly comps i would like to see a sign up day 24hrs before hand people sign up to the comp on the wednesday for free, they get locked in and next day the comp begins and no more people can enter and it's a 1 scorecard a day so it stretches out 4 rounds over 4 days like real life.

Any quitters are hit with DNF and do not have the chance to re-enter as the sign up date is locked down on the thursday night at 00-00am.

2nd day a cut is put in place those who do not make the cut are out of the comp but DO have a small amount of cash for taking part anyways, the next 2 days the rest of the feild finish up and prizes are awarded to those that played all 4 rounds over 4 days and bigger prize obviously to top 10 players.

3- a trophy cabinate those that win weekly tournys come 1st 2nd 3rd get a virtual trophy and can bee seen by all on there bio page in which a trophy cabinate link can be found.

4- Tweeking the game overall to stop players hitting rounds in -20 etc.


if EA put these things in mainly 1-2-4 .. i will be very happy and will be more than willing to front more money to play.

Skins game, Team match play, Alternate Shot, Hole in one Contest, Par 4 Challenge, Par 5 Challenge, User created Tourney, Stableford, Best ball, Longest drive, just to name a few

To take DUNK's idea a slight bit further. I think it would be fantastic to be able to play our group tourney's either as single player or in TBMP. This would really help to strengthen the group camaraderie.

this is welcome news. Tourny's are great but have become a bit boring. Multiplayer is needed. Most of the people i know who play 360 or ps3 all agree the multiplayer is the best part. When i play ps3, all i ever play is multiplayer. Match play mode is welcomed as well as all the other console based modes. Including battle golf along with one ball, for something different. All most everyone can agree DNF's need to be included as soon as possible. I believe once you get the multi player up and running you will see more people becoming members. thanks for the game and look forward to the updates. Last thing, how about addressing Harbor town holes 17 & 18.
