you say this like undisputed is light years ahead of ea sports mma in
terms of graphics and fluid gameplay. its not even close....
the biggest selling part to ufc undisputed is that it has the ufc image,
brand name and most of the known (ufc) fighters in the mma world.
allmost all the hate comments in the past towards ea sports mma
involved- (ea sports does not have the best fighters...who wants to
play with these no namers?) ooh....but the no namers in strikeforce
all of a sudden become cool when dana white buys out strikeforce
and gives the top strikeforce fighters the ufc limelight. give meee a break....

but as we all know...ufc is the be all can be. anything else is a pile of crap.

ooh snap...ufc undisputed 2010 will have a 100 man roster! omg!!!!
grrrreeeat!!! 100 fighters that fight nothing like there real life
counterparts. cut and paste moves with repeat stances.
rigid robotic movements. repetitive flash knockouts connected
to weak physics. I could go on and on....

but it does not matter. because the large following
from the ufc sheep army accepts all this hollow
bs. get this ufc fans...undisputed 2012 will have a
roster of a 150 fighters!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! omggggggg.....

holy flying kick in the face....ufc has pride mode in undisputed 2012!!!!!!!!
bas and stephen...head stomps, soccer kicks.....I am in heaven!!!!!

yeah...I admit that sounds great and all but if it has the same
rigid robotic non fluid ugly gameplay with blah physics...(even minor tweaks couldn't save it)
what does it all mean in the end? well to me it means...another shoddy game that is
stuck on the same engine with minor tweaks hiding behind the new hyped features.
what was it in 2010? 100 man cookie cutter paste roster....10 fight styles? online fight camps? (haha)
the ufc sheep army fall for it everytime....easily pleased.

omg!!! we get to fight as the young version of rampage in pride...drools!
more cookie cutter face plate crap with minor stamina tweaks.

maby if the physics engine was something to boast about...
the younger version of rampage would actually mean
something special. but at the moment...its clearly does not.

whats inside the engine huh? is it a fricken old lawn mower motor or something...?
cause from my view that is what it felt like in the last undisputed game.

I remember moments from the trailers in past ufc games.
where one fighter was alive and the other fighter was
a space cadet. what do you know...the same as real
as it gets junk!

it wasn't just in the trailers...it was in the actual game also.

wow...take a year and counting off to make the game
the best it could be and the same crud is back in action?

ufc undisputed 2012 trailer
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VLSClRMZvjY

watch at 0:17...rampage stands in the cage like a space cadet
while shogun lands a high kick....

0:20 rampage stands in the middle of the pride ring like a space cadet
with his hands down while chuck lands a head punch....rampage
react's to the punch with the same ugly physics (minor tweakage ahaha)

fighters should be alive at all times...not stuck in a stance waiting
to get knocked out.

come on mannn....if undisputed can get away with this crap in there
trailers...theres nothing stopping this game from being another
game (just like ufc 2010) with a hype face plate and a minor tweaked engine.

its a frickin joke. I fell for it once. (the first time) but the 2nd
and 3rd...noo wayy....for me its a wait for the real user reviews and
at best a rent.

it makes me sad that ea sports mma 2 is in the darkness at the moment.

the physics engine in ea mma was well beyond undisputeds.
and if the trailer by ufc 2012 is anything to go by I could still see
it beating undisputed 2012 when put up against ufc's physics-fluid-animation
show down. with the right game. especially the fight night series. ea sports is known
for pushing it to the limits. instead of rehashing the same with minor
tweaks.

the final quality of undisputed 2012 could beat ea sports mma...
but after seeing so many similarities in the trailer involving movements...
animations and such. I dont see it happening. I want to be blown away
by more then just hyped features.....(pride mode) but at the moment...
it's not blowing me away.

I read the whole thing but really shouldn't have bothered.

Let me break this down...

T1000ninja wrote:ooh snap...ufc undisputed 2010 will have a 100 man roster! omg!!!!
grrrreeeat!!! 100 fighters that fight nothing like there real life

There were several things in UFC 2010 which give rise to fighter individuality. Stances for starters and over 200 moves which could be assigned to the fighters. Not to mention that the CAFs also had a logic setting which is something that was asked for in EA MMA but wasn't there. No, in EA MMA every fighter fights the same, the ONLY difference between fighters (Apart from their appearance) was the very limited 'special moves' and stats. Even UFC 2009 had 6 different styles with unique moves for each one.

T1000ninja wrote:rigid robotic movements. repetitive flash knockouts connected

Hopefully these things will be fixed just like the submission game.

More gripes about the physics engine which has nothing to do with a young version of Rampage. THQ are only doing what EA did with Shamrock, Randy, Bas, Arlovski etc. What difference does the physics engine make?!

So you didn't even play 2010? Having read some of the earlier comments, possibly not.

They rehashed the Fight Night engine with a few tweaks which ruined the engine (Adding kicks, automatic range, a poorly thought out clinch and a single button press for takedowns).

They don't make the game for you and the numbers will speak for themselves but you'll just put it down to sheeple so...

Like it or not, EA Sports MMA revolutionized the MMA Genre and Online gaming all together. UFC/THQ will never amount to anything near that with their turd Undisputed series. Then UFC/THQ has the nerve to throw Pride mode in there? First off, mad respect to Dana White, he is a good business man and all this... But he is a piece of sh*t. I refuse to support his watered down Nazi regime. But if there is no MMA2 I guess I'll have to buy Undisputed 3 STRICTLY for Pride mode.

What it all comes down to is the gameplay. EA has murdered any temptation I had to play undisputed. EA has made a game that plays way smoother and is a lot more fun. THQ can add a million modes and side features but if they can't improve the game play vastly EA MMA will always be the better game.

I find it frustrating that THQ has the UFC contract for so long. Unfortunately that contract will likely make EA MMA nothing but a memory in a few years like the NFL2k series. One of those situations where everyone knows the better game was shutdown by the corporate machine.

Jesus Ninja calm down. Sheeple?
I own and play both EAMMA and UFC 2010.
EA has a more fluid looking game and better online features.
UFC however has so many more animations, stances and positions that it make eamma look lazy by comparison. The animations are jerky but at least theres more than 8 ground positions.

To be honest, I would want Japanese commentary for PRIDE.

Does anyone know if that is an option (other than buying a Japanese copy)???

BDogg, you realized TS was slagging UFC and praising EA right?

(I actually read only the first line too, but I happened to understand it)

You sound like the Madden boards posters used to sound....and I say "used to sound" because those boards have been almost completely devoid of traffic because EA does not, in fact, listen to the community at all. And nobody is buying this nonsense about you turning down a job for a dev either. Unless by "work for them" you mean doing some Mod-ing over on their boards, which a 7 year old chewing on crayons can do. So I hope you don't mean that.

Whatever, this too shall pass

EA Sports can easily compete with the UFC Undisputed series. EA MMA can continue to introduce novice MMA fans to athletes from overseas MMA organisations. By including international star athletes in their EA MMA title they will continue to aid local interest in the sport. The licenses which EA does not hold will be supplemented by a highly customisable editing feature, which will empower the EA MMA fanbase to develop official-like in game roster updates through a coordinated community effort. Think of how Konami empowered Pro Evolution Soccer communities such as PESFan to create official gear for the game without, Konami suffering repercussions.

I believe as many others that the title EA MMA warrants a sequel, there is simply so much left to be done. Thanks to the EA Sports MMA team that developed the first title, it is enjoyable.

WHAT?

You say "used to sound" Because since 2010 Madden has been a completely different series that has made major changes and improved gameplay drastically. You must not play Madden much.

I agree, but thats all budget related.

If EA had the budget for an mma title that THQ does, there wouldnt even be a saints row third.

So here is my opinion... I own both games and they are both awesome... in different ways...

UFC- had a more customizable career mode and moves. There were more positions, subs, kicks, punches, ect. You could make your fighter look however you wanted and do whatever you wanted... as long as you were good at button mashing...

EA - MUCH better mechanics... what your fighter lacked in moves, shorts, and tattoos, he made up for in organics... fighters move faster/slower depending on stick speed and total fight controls of fight night made ea mma feel better than ufc

That being said...

Combine the two... doesn't matter who does it...

EA: give me more. Mostly more moves... different styles of punches and kickes to choose from. Different looks, positions and moves.

THQ: RIP OFF FIGHT NIGHT MECHANICS!!! You're game was awesome but my X button is worn out... this isn't street fighter

I don't care who does it... if a game comes out that both qualities... I will play it religously and send s bottle of patron the the lead developer...

Get it done,

Sharon Tate

EA MMA wasn't as good as any of the Undisputed games and it's just going to be left even further behind now. Simulation Mode makes UFC 3 amazing to play.
