What worked for me was that before I load the game mode, I play a little bit of the Winter Classic (any teams will work). I played at least 10 minutes of the first period, sometimes heading to the intermission or the first regular stoppage of play after a goal is scored. Works every time for me.

Nice to have updates to that game, specially when most biggest effect is that f*cking freezing when loading Be a GM save... *!! Iam sooooo waiting for new nhl2k. This game have been laggy,freezy etc since it came to stores, so i guess that it was last time to me to spend money to something crappy like this.

I think that in between periods you should be able to see highlights and scores of other games in progress. This would be useful towards the end of the season and playoffs, where every game is critical.

Read my post here (6th). It's just a work around but for me it does the job all the time (PS3).

I have started 3 different gm modes as the blackhawks. Each time I do I end up with players on my minor league team that are NOT on my roster. They are players I released to free agency. I cannot move these players up or down, put them on my trade block and they do not show up on my contracts page or roster lists BUT they are able to dress and play for my minor league team. I cannot figure out how or why this happens and the tech support I got was not helpful. They suggested deleteing everything and starting over and then calling abck if I have the problem again.

I am also having goalie stat issues. My starter has played 5 games won all five and had 2 shut outs, but his stat show that he has no shuouts and only two wins in 5 games with no losses. How does this work?

Mike Zigomanis is missing from the Toronto Marlies roster in Be A GM Mode(Beggining of Season start). I found him in the free agents list. When I exit Be A GM and go to my roster management screen he is on the team. Why is he going to free agency in Be A Gm mode?

I'm not a 100% sure, but I'm almost positive that you do not have enough players in your organization to play in the minors. If this is the case, trade for players, or sign players from free agency to fill the holes. These players are free agents already and if they're doing good and helping your team, you can sign them and have them permanently play for your team. They are signed to Professional Tryout Contracts by the computer by the way.

There were too many players in your organization, so the computer automatically released him to free agency. I'm sure you can sign him, if not you can trade a player you do not want for a draft pick to any team and still be able to sign him as long as it's not too late.

Yes. I signed him. It was kind of annoying trying to find a team to trade with that either wanted the player I was offering or even had roster space. But I did get him.

Thanks a lot for the answer. I didn't realise the cpu would do that for me. I figured it would just do that for the cpu teams. I assume if I started around the draft I might have control. I'm sure there is a period where a team can have too many contracts IRL. I would like to see this reflected in next year's games if it isn't already.

I have just finished simming to Sept 13th 2017 and found that my 18 year old 1st overall pick is playing for my AHL team and when I try and bring him up and send him down to juniors he just goes back to my AHL team. What do I do?

I have Battlefiled 3 and there is so much lag its disgusting and freezes often....

Madden 12': I don't even want to begin with the issues on there because I could write a novel about all the glitches/issues with that game - The game has so many bugs is ridic!!!!

As for NHL 12: It would be AWESOME if I could ACTUALLY PLAY my GM Mode!!!!! It CONSISTANTLY freezes at the loading screen as soon at it hits 100% I just tried 4 times in a row to play my GM Mode and I had to physically turn my PS3 off and re-start it.... So are you willing to buy me a new PS3 once it breaks because of your horrible manufactured games??!?!?

But let me guess EA, you're not going to refund anyone?!?! Why would you?!?! It's only 60.00... Your company is a bunch of crooks that release games with 1,000 bugs and then you NEVER release a PATCH!?!?!? Also, each year, your company SLIGHTLY betters the game, and that goes for both Madden and NHL!!! It's like you add ONE MINOR thing compared to last years model and you post these commericals acting like its the best game ever created... If you own NHL 2009/10 the ONLY thing thats changed really is the ROSTERS.... I mean a few things here and there have been added but not much to grab your attention....

My friends have Xbox and they never have an issue... Why can't you make a decent game for PS3?!?

I ALSO am going to look into a class action lawsuit - because after reading all these posts online, there are thousands upon thousands of people that are just like me....

We work hard for our money and when we pay 60.00 on a game for a Xmas/B-Day gift, or even if we spend the 60.00 on ourselves, we expect the game to work properly....

Yea I heard of a resolution where if you go into shootout mode it may help the game from not freezing... But WE shouldn't have to do that...

Your company has been around for decades, I'm sure you have enough money to return all of the people that purchased your horrible, glitchly, laggy, buggy, freezing games

I have had no problems with freezing in Be a GM mode. There are some weird bugs like my 18 year old 1st overall draft pick can't go to junior and the coaching strategies don't set properly when you adjust them(they reset back to previous if you go back and check them). Avoidable but still annoying.

I don't why your game is being so glitchy and freezing. It would upset me too. I think EA should be looking into these cases more seriously and should be more proactive. They make a lot of money from this game and it would be a smart gesture to give back to the community by helping people who are having difficulty with their copy.

Look how much time Bethesda puts into their patches and updates.

Now with all that being said, I could hardly call this game horrible. There's a lot worse out there. I understand your frusturation but you have to realize that their is a lot of people who aren't having the problems you are.

What generation of 360/PS3 do you have? Have you installed the game on your hard drive? Have you cleared the system cache? Does PS3/360 all ship with the same hardware regardless of gen? Maybe you have an older system. I play it on 360 slim, installed on HDD.

Anyways, I hope EA steps up and helps you fix your problems.

I have had the same freezing issue while loading GM mode. Now I just sign out ahead of time and I'm able to load it though it sucks not having third jerseys, etc. But now I'm in the conference semis and I can maybe play one game before I get an in-game freeze. Has happened on my second game of a session four out of my last five times playing at least.

I know people complain a lot about online issues, and they have every right to, but I just think it's totally unacceptable for non-online issues to be as preventable as they seem to be with this game. I understand adding servers to the mix can make things tougher to nail down, but it's very frustrating that I can't even play more than one game in my Be a GM mode w/o the game freezing.

Im in my 2nd year in be a gm mode and I´ve managed to draft both Yakupov and Grigorenko through trading for 2 first round picks. Yakupov is in my first team roster(Colorado Avalanche) with 77 ovr and grigorenko is unsigned (74 ovr, will sign him next season). The strange thing here is that neither of them is a rookie skater in my roster and Yakupov should be the league leader in points amongst rookies but he is nowhere to be found.

All my other draftees, unsigned or signed, and Ahl players that are still rookies is in the team rookies list. Is this some kind of bug/glitch or is it some logical explanation to this?
