What's Wrong with Darkslides?

I've noticed that the Skate 3 teaser has really boiled peoples blood going "OMFG DARKSLIDES?I WANT REALISM!!111one"If you don't want to do darkslides...DON'T DO THEM INGAME.It's not that hard y'know.Maybe I'm overreacting to this,but really.

I think THPS has alot to do with it...

a lot of people that never grew up with freestyle/flatground stuff or don't follow it at all...

might have only been exposed to it in a THPS form...

well, if i had a choice between darkslides and realism, id want realism, no questions asked, darkslides arent unrealistic, but personally i dont like them. dont see why theres a thread about it though...

people who gripe about realism should put down the control and go outside. I can see the gripe about realism in a shooter Game. But even those games play on your imagination,cause most of the guys who play them have never even shot a real gun in a real situation.(WAR) Think about it guys who come back from war are not to eager to pick up a war game. So can it be true that maybe the guys that make such a big deal about realism suck at skating and can't do the tricks they complain about in real life. So they want realism in this game so they feel good about themselves. Sounds like a possibility. CHEEHEE..........GO OUTSIDE AND PLAY STOP USEING YOUR PARENTS MONEY AND THEN COMPLAINING ABOUT WHAT YOU BOUGHT, LIKE IT WAS YOUR MONEY THAT YOU WASTED.HAHAHAHAHA

I don't think people are really against the darkslides themselves, but would rather see EA putting time and effort in other aspects of the game, like improving bad looking tricks already in-game, working on the physics, working on a better city layout and design, etc. Personally, I don't care if darkslides are in the game, but I am not going to use them I don't care about them, good if some people are having fun doing them though.

Most people don't hate them... they just would rather have other things. They think because EA is putting in Darkslides, they're pandering to the TH players... which they are, but that's just how it's going to be until TH games die off (after this year). The only people who stick around here are the realistic types, which is why there is so much complaining about it. Darkslides are realistic, but they're not very common and everyone wants something else more then that here.

people on this forum are waiting for features in skate3 that are nowhere to be found in new the trailer.
so they kind of hate on the thps friendly new things.
darkslides are realistic for what 20 - 10 people on earth maybe less,they have become a gimmick of non skating community who have seen the unique skills of rodney in action,cause they are a easy way to categorize hard tricks in skateboarding.

there's is nothing for us (the easkate community) in this trailer not a single detail,new animation,night time...
so in a very exagerate way we could say that black box are whoring out to thps audience and ignoring the fan base.

I don't care it will still be cool doing darkslides in the game. It's not like "Oh NO!! I'm not going to do this and that only because it's cool to skate realisticly, I'm not going to skate megaramps and 30 stairs and do crazy lateflips no no no only curbs" EA did it tollay right to add darkslides because 1. Many people wanted it 2.It will be something different. And fun.

i'm surprised no one mentioned the watermark in his avatar.....just cause thats how bad this forum can get at times. Realistically speaking if i could do darkslides in RL i would every day of the week. But the comment in here are right especially the way Manolo broke it down. Its not the slide itself but rather that the slide is a symbol of the catering to the masses vs the "video producing addicts" this forum has created.....
