Need for Speed Racing Games

problem 1:
the game crashes after pressing [enter] after loading player data.
this issue occurs at ca 20% of all gamestats


problem 2:
the graphics-driver needs to be reseted while on track.
that makes the game freeze.
this happens more often, than before.

switching the shadow-level from "high" to someting else makes teh game crash, when entering the raceway.

i dont know, if i have installed the patch, because the installer aboards, without any feedback, after unzipping one file (i dont know, if it ran correct the first time).
and there is no version number ingame (really nice work, fools).

the game ran stable one or two days and now it crashes all the time(because of problem 2).
i cant play anymore.

os:
win vista x64 will all updates and dx10

computer:
intel core two duo 8500
nvidia 275+
4gb DDR2 ram @ 1033 mhz (corsair)
mainboard with intels P45 chipset (from gigabyte)

i think the problem is the graphics driver, or better: the bad code, that it receives from shift

i'm really anoyed, i had to work several hours to earn the money for the game...

try running it in Win98 compatibility mode or Windows xp compatibility mode.

i tied win98.
that makes the game verrrry slow.

disabling AA worked for me too, also, try deleting the graphicsconfig.XML file in documents - need for speed shift, because this could be corrupt

i siabled AA and still have the same stupid problem...

its still unplayable.
where's the support EA??

You wont be getting a personal reply in this forum... have you contacted them directly via their proper support channels ?

Ive got absolutely no problems with the graphics driver re-setting, no crashing like you explain, ok im not using a 275, but a Tri SLI 280's with Driver 191.07 (191.03 where also fine) and the 3D vision drivers

All sorts of different configurations on PC's can cause these kind of errors, Ive dealt with them enough previously and its been nothing to do with the drivers, the software or the hardware.. its been down to my settings in my particular case, having the ram voltage set too low and not reading the information provided LOL !

First stop... try the new beta 191.07 drivers, Ive read on guru3d (i think) that there is a performance gain in NFS, how true that is I dont know, since I dont run fraps all the time, but its got to be a start. If they are not on nvidia yet (cant be bothered to check) they can be downloaded within the 3d vision cd, or others have put links up on guru3d etc


P.S Correct me if im wrong.... Game version can be obtained from the EXE file in the game folder
C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\Need for Speed SHIFT

Choosing properties shows me im on 1.0.1.0

i contacted the support today and should get an answer on wednesday
i tried two diferent driver versions 190.38 and 190.62 - same problem.
my last option is to try anotehr gamepad, or something like that

so.
i installed windows 7 on the same computer

-> same problem...
nive ea...

and still no answer from the support

my f*cking game is still crashing and the f*cking support does not answer me.
