I'm using a Sound blaster Audigy 4 with some cambridge soundworks 5.1 speakers. The speakers are all set up and spaced perfectly. I get fantastic surround sound in games like Left4Dead and deadspace for instance, but i'm somewhat very disappointed in the surround sound in N4SS. The ambient menu music sounds great. I can hear the various sound effects wizzing round my head, but when racing, i can't hear cars coming up the side of me. I also can't hear any music unless i wear my stereo headphones which is on the same green plug via a splitter as the 5.1 system, so tell me. Is the game missing true 5.1, or is it my rig?

why not try without splitter and headphones ,and check the 5.1 is set rather than headphones in speaker options
also if i rem correctly there is a new driver out for Audigy cause last one the speaker settings didnt corrospnd with sound output
check for new driver ,rem to remover old one first

in fact why would u have 5.1 turned on and wear headphones ???????????? as well

3 October 2009

Creative has released a Beta 2.18.0011 driver for the majority of the Audigy series under Windows XP, Vista and 7. The driver fixes a device error caused by enabling audio enhancements, as well as resolving an incorrect speaker configuration being shown in Audio Control Panel.
