Recently my RotWK game disc cracked, so I repurchased the game using EA Download Manager, which was cheaper than the cost of a replacement disc. The downloaded game does not start at all, not with compatibility mode, not with administrator privileges - nothing works. Attempting to fix this, I uninstalled both RotWK and BFME II, cleaned my computer and registry with CCleaner, and installed both again in safe mode (using the saved cache I had downloaded for RotWK). Still, RotWK will not load, no matter what I do.

This appears to be the same problem that another user recently had:

WTF, and to make the matters worst every time i click on the icon on my desktop it does not respond at all, and i mean nothing, i can sit there double clicking on it and still nothing. Did i just give EA 10 bucks for nothing.
Please Help

I presumed this might have something to do with the game not having been "activated" using the "Activation" tab in EADM. However, if I try to activate the game using the "digital rights" code that EA sent via email, it says "The code entered is not valid for product activation."

Help would be great, especially considering that I have now bought this game three times and am not really up for doing so again just to get another disc. :p Thanks!

Forlong,

Do you get a particular error code or message when trying to run the game? Does it say the key is not valid, already in use, or that the it cannot verify your identity?

If it gives you an error number that would be very helpful too.

Thanks!

Nope, there isn't any error message at all. The game just doesn't start, nothing happens at all. Task Manager shows that no processes have even started. It worked without any trouble when I had it installed from DVD before.

I had to manually create my Application Data folder with options.ini and the Maps folder, but that didn't help.

I believe I've solved this. Right now I'm able to run the game fine so long as I don't try to start it by using EA Download Manager. If I try to launch the game using EADM then I have to close EADM before I'm able to use it again. It'd be nice if launching from EADM worked properly but I'm not too concerned about it.

If I try to launch the game from inside EADM, then the bar turns green (I presume this means EADM thinks the game has been launched) and the game can't be started with any method until EADM is closed.
