Hi,

I was wondering if EA might give consideration to releasing a commercial track pack add-on of additional real world tracks in the future?

Notwithstanding the additional fictional trackside objects in the stock tracks, I am absolutely stunned by the quality of the rendering of the real life tracks in this game, especially Brands Hatch, Silverstone, Road America and Laguna Seca.

But all this has done is whet my appetite for more real world tracks made by the exact same people who made the originals (to maintain a consistentency and excellence of standard).

There are so many tracks I would love to see made with exactly the same tools and quality as the originals. Examples just off the top of my head are Summit Point, Lime Rock, Watkins Glen, Road Atlanta, Oulton Park and even Bathurst.

So I would like to say that I would be more than happy to pay at least as much as I did for the original game ($99 AUD) if there were an official retail track Pack expansion available that had, say, 5 or 6 real world tracks modelled to precisely the same standards as the originals, and by the same SMS development team.

btw, my desire for tracks does not stop at the ones I mentioned. I would buy any and all track expansion packs if they were official ones by the original SMS developers and were real world tracks.

Thanks

If there's any DLC on the plan, they're most likely to be free. So few who would buy "extensions" for a game already bought.

New cars, a test track 1/4 mile, free roam mode, option to configure steering wheels, and a bunch of other assorted bug fixes first

1/4 mile wouldn't cut it in the least. I'd hope for a 2-mile straight with no bumps (to test top speed and downforce mainly) I use the first part of Aremburg for that sort of testing as it is now.

Free roam mode? No way this is gonna happen in SHIFT. But yeah, more cars and tracks would be nice.

@ Free roam mode
Yeah, NFS World Online is what you're lookin' for. I played a game that I can only think is similar to what NFS World Online will be, and it's called Drift City by Ijji. Give it a shot and wait for World Online to come out.

How would there be free roam in this game? Just wondering were you want to go roam?

Need for speed ONLINE?? They tried that once, it was called MCO (motor city online). I played that from launch day until the day they shut the servers down. Great game, loved it, but greatly mis managed and don't even get me started about the AI cars.

@OldSparky442

Well, they're at it again. Only this time they're going even farther. Full maps from Silverton and Rockport, and a wack of other stuff that Underground lovers will like. As far as I know it's still slated to be released in North America this year.

Lol....this was the first I've heard of this game so I've been looking for info online. I'm serious about the AI bots on MCO. They would drive the tracks in reverse and come at you head on or when the race began, they'd turn to the side and run straight off course. It was hilarious. Some of the worst programming I've ever seen.

well the Volkswagen test track in germany with the HUGE straight and 2 banked turns would be an awesome addition to testing top speed et al

while another purposely built test track with many tricky corners could be used to test handling

and a free roam in the sense a HUGE flat wide place with nothing around would be pretty fun, allowing us to try all sorts of driving tricks, donuts, drift practices, speed runs, slaloms etc, also something like a "forge" in Halo 3 where you can put your own obstacles like cones or barriers to make your own track would be pretty cool... and jump ramps, as well as obstacle cars/busses/caravans to destroy like a daredevil stunt...

but for THAT i'm stretching a bit =b

That's not true. TDU came out with a mega pack and many people bought that. The Sims Franchise live off expansions until they release the last full game. I personal like the idea of expansion packs now if that means better NFSs.

DLC tracks would be great, i'd pay for them if it were for tracks i don't already have in other xbox games. I don't expect there to be any though for this game.

I meant free roam as in being able to drive backwards without car resetting or being disqualified..

But this game somehow incorporated into a streetscape like gta's liberty city would be the greatest simulation, driving wise atleast hahaha

Why would they offer a track pack or car pack without charging? They've done that once in the past. Despite being able to purchase extra cars in both ProStreet and Undercover. Actually if they put in the tracks and cars that I think they will then I'd actually buy it for once.
