Does anybody know if this game will be playable via a LAN? If so, I'm ready to pre-order four copies now after seeing the E3 demo. Any information would be helpful. Co-optimus.com states that the game has a LAN option... but, unfortunately the site doesn't always have the correct information on it.
Thanks in advance

I know the first game didn't have an option for System Link (or LAN). There were a lot of people complaining about it, about it not being there and having bought two copies for nothing. The only way you could play it was via Xbox Live or Split Screen.
Not sure how they will do it this time around. You will have to wait for Norrish, Sonic or allucanEAtsushi to reply. They might know.

J4GGZ,
Thanks for the reply. Maybe one of the people you mentioned will post a message answering my question.
WhatDoUKnow,
Thanks for the reply. I never got to play the first one since we mostly play only System Link multi-player/co-op games in our family (out here in the country there is no high speed Internet access). After seeing people complaining about the lack of System Link we stayed away from it.
The new one, on the other hand, looks like a different game altogether. The two main characters are very well animated and modeled and their contrasting appearances/characteristics present a lot of comedic potential. If all the single player game/control mechanics are available in the multiplayer and there is a System Link option, then this could very well be one of the better multi-player games on the 360 (in our humble opinion).
We play Gears of War (we own the second one but we only play the original) almost daily. We used to have six 360's but some in our family got so fed up with the glitches that they didn't want to play anymore and Halo wasn't their game, so we ended up selling two of them. The glitches can become rather frustrating. This new Army of Two looks to be a great change of pace from Gears and maybe even a little (or a lot) more strategic.

Unfortunately, system link isn't supported, but Army of Two: The 40th Day does support offline split-screen co-op and of course online co-op (both private and public games)

SpenserNorrish,
Thanks for answering my question and not leaving me in suspense. It's not good news, but at least now I know.
I sure hope you guys will reconsider the LAN option before the game launches. Army of Two seems to be such a natural candidate for all of us LAN players. It was surprising to hear that the first one didn't support it. I thought that maybe it was just an oversight considering that the game was built for co-op... an oversight I thought would be amended with this second game in the series. But, I guess you all have your reasons. Nevertheless, I hope your game does well.
