I don't own either and want EA active -- but want to know if I should just wait the month til the new one comes out -- but if they have DIFFERENT exercises, I'll get EA active, but if more workouts is EA Active + "more", then I'll wait ... ???? Thanks

If I could only have one I think I would go for the new one because it has more of a variety of exercises. The old one really has nothing for abs and no warm ups or stretches. It looks like More Workouts is really an addition to the original not like Wii Fit Plus that contains the old things plus some new ones. So having both would give lots of choices if you can afford to purchase both.

I think that with "More Workouts" that you will not get the leg strap, elastic strap or handles...just the more exercises on a disk.

Good point. I zoomed in on the picture of the box and it appears to have something on it about the original. It shows included and a game disc and book then I can't read the other print but it has a picture of the box for the original. If you have to buy a leg strap and band separately you might as well get the original package. You could use some of the ideas others have had for leg straps and the resistance band is junk anyway. I think just about everyone has replaced theirs that uses it regularly.

Does anyone know for sure if More Workouts is just the 35 new exercises, or if it contains all the original stuff plus the new exercises. For the price it will be selling at, I can't see it really just having the new stuff. And if you'd want to mix the old exercises with the new ones in a routine, you can't really do that if More Workouts only contains the new exercises.
I haven't bought the original yet, so I want to know if it makes sense to wait for the new game.

Well the new game will transfer your save data over from the old version to the new one, so there's at least the assumption that you won't need to be using the old game. The game probably has most of the old exercises in there, since there's footage of the new cardio boxing setup in one of the videos. Hopefully they got rid of those awful jump lunges!
If you don't currently have the game, it's probably worth while to wait for this new version to come out. You'll need to invest $20 in the official EA Active accessory (which everyone here will agree falls on the spectrum of somewhat bad to god awful bad), or buy some resistance bands and make a homemade leg strap instead.
However this doesn't mean you have to wait for the game to start your exercise and diet regime! The game is still a month away, plenty of time for the winter doldrums to set in dissuade you from exercising. Start with some small exercise and diet steps right away so you'll be ready for some more intensive workouts once the new EA Active comes out. The game doesn't give you motivation, that has to come from you

I contacted the Company a while back about More Workouts and asked about if it will be possible to make a custom workout that contained activities from both the original Active and the new More Workouts.
Their response was:
It is a separate disc, but it is an expansion pack so it is compatible with Personal Trainer
Exercises cannot be combined – BUT, we are listening – I promise We know that this is important and are listening to your feedback
Profile info along with previous 4 weeks of workout history (calories burned, workout time, workouts completed, surveys, etc.) can be transferred into More Workouts
However, I agree with previous comment that some of the video clips have items that look familiar from Active - - like the boxing. The boxing on More Workouts looks awesome. At this point, if I could only have one, I would probably wait for the More Workouts even though you will need to deal with coming up with something for the leg strap and the resistance band.

I currently only have the old active. Trying to decide on buying the new one or not. As previously stated you can buy the leg strap and resistant band as an addition. I've also seen used Active at different places too. It would be nice if the Active More workouts was like the Fit Plus and had the old exercises and new ones on the one disc and not have to use both disc.

EA Sports Active More Workouts is a standalone game. I have both game and I love them both. I have been using EA Sports Active Personal Trainer for several months now without getting tired of it. I am doing the 6 week challenge with More Workouts and it's very fun and intense.
I would recommend getting both. They both have a lot of different activities and offer great workouts. More Workouts has some great new exercises which are very intense. Such as the obstacle course.
As far as the leg strap and resistance band. I have had no problems with mine. The leg strap stays on well if you wear tight pants, such as spandex type pants or on bare skin wearing shorts. I usually wear foldover yoga pants and the band stays on very well. I have had it fall of a few times while running for an extended period of time. Also, if you want a more intense workouts, make the resistance band shorter by standing on it or fold it over.

Hey Everyone - yes, they are separate products. Personal Trainer comes with the software, leg strap and resistance band while More Workouts comes with the software and a nutrition book from Bob Greene. the leg strap and resistance band are also sold separately in an accessory pack for anyone who doesnt have Personal Trainer and would like to start with More Workouts.
you do not need to start with Personal Trainer - it's a great base for the franchise, but you can totally start with More Workouts if you like.
More Workouts contains an all new 6 week challenge as opposed to the 30 day challenge in PT. MW also has over 35 brand new exercises and activities, warm up and cool down, abs and an awesome tropical setting.
I hope that helps!

If you were only getting one, you should get more workouts and the accessory pack, and you will have a better exercise game with all the necessary equipment. If you prefer though get more workouts add-on and the full base package. I can visualize it to be better in the long run to do alternating 6-week and thirty day challenges to keep a more varied routine going.

If you can afford it get both. Do the orignal in the morning and the new one in the evening. This is completely doable, if you have both set at the easy level. And since they are different, you're not likely to get bored.
