For those of you who are experiencing the EADM Error 10000:78008, we have a possible workaround:
1. First, you will need to create a “classic” screen name, which you will then need to link to your new ea.com account. Please visit http://www.pogo.com/action/pogo/lightregview.do and follow the steps to create a screen name.
2. Once you have created a screen name according to the instructions in the address above, you will need to create another account at www.ea.com using a different e-mail address than the e-mail you are currently using to log in. You will use this new e-mail address to log in to the Electronic Arts Download Manager (EADM). Be sure to visit www.ea.com and make sure you are logged out so you can click on the register button and create a new account.
3. After you have created your account, go to https://profile.ea.com/myinfo.do. Once you are logged in, scroll down to the section titled “Select A Default Persona” and click on the Add Persona button. Change the radial button to select “existing EA Classic Screen Name.” Enter your account name and password and then click "Add Persona.” Once you enter the proper information, you should see a page indicating you successfully linked your accounts.
4. Once you have performed the above steps, please put in a support ticket at http://support.ea.com/ (clicking on email us). Make sure to include the following in your support ticket: 1) Your new account information, 2) Your old account information, 3) A link to this post (telling them that you have reinstalled the game and done everything I suggested here), 4) An explanation that you are getting the 10000:78008 Error. The support techs should be able to get you taken care of from there.
If you put in a trouble ticket and don't hear anything back, PM me the incident number and I will look into it (or see if I can expidite things).

Edit::: This is a bug in the website. Probably how people are stealing other peoples personas. The website lets multiple people have the same account names and steal other peoples personas. The website beleives my screen name is already in my account because i have 2 accounts with the same account name and one of them already has this screenname. Hire some real programmers like me and you wouldnt have this problem.
They are for sure getting a sql injection somewhere.

I'm getting the error but the workaround does not seem to work. This is far from a user freindly solution.
I just want to play the dam game I bought. It shouldn't be so hard to get it to work.

Hi everyone,
I am getting lots of reports in other threads that this is fixing people's issues!
@Null81: I updated Step 4 above. Please re-read that and follow those instructions to get online.
@zefex: I am not seeing your new account in our system, so it may not have been created properly on pogo. Go and try to create a new account there again and let me know if you run into the same problem. Make sure you follow through on all of the Pogo account creation steps before moving on to the next part of the workaround.
@xycron: I agree that this workaround is not the most user-friendly solution, but it is working for a large number of people who are experieincing the error. Which part of the workaround listed above is giving you trouble?

I followed the steps and submitted a ticket to support as per your instructions.
Support did not attend to this, they just replied with your workaround post.
Seems to me they didn't even read my ticket, just assumed I had not done this.
I feel like an idiot, I new this would happen!

This is what I got when I opened a ticket:
Hello there,
If you’re receiving a “10000:78008” error when launching your game in the EA Download Manager, the game license you’re using isn't working as it should. I have gone ahead and reset your account so you can retrieve a new license, but in order for these changes to take effect, you will need to uninstall your game, delete the cache for your game in the EADM by pressing the red (x) on the right-hand side, and then re-download and re-install the game. The new download is required to retrieve the new license for the game.
Going forward, you shouldn’t receive the “10000:78008” error anymore.
If you need additional assistance, please reply to this e-mail or check out our online knowledge base at http://support.ea.com.

Unfortunately, that didn't work at all. So it was basically a waste of time and bandwidth as the same exact thing shows up. I'd rather get my money back at this point. I don't see why I should have to go out of my way to play a game I legally purchased. This sounds like a lawsuit to me!

* existing PLAYSTATION Network Online ID
* existing EA Classic Screen Name

The EA Classic screen name is used with many older EA games. You can also associate your screen name directly through compatible EA games.

Thanks, it finally worked! It still gives error "you must log into EADM before you can play but the game played anyways! It was nice to play again, i was getting tired of DOOM4

I've been recieving this message for months then it tells me to sign in to EADM to verify my ownership. I did all the things in this post as well as reinstallint the game. I reported this to EA and got this email

Did it. Didn't work. I then reinstalled my OS on a fresh formatted partition. Even that didn't work, so it pretty much has to be on the EA end.
I don't have a clue what to do next. I really like this game and have most all the unlocks so its very frustrating to not be able to play it.
First ticket was 090926-008231 for a chat that went nowhere
Second ticket was 091102-017416
Do you think you can help me out?
