Hi guys,
Do you know how to acquire gold skills?
You need to play long matches (3-5 sets)? Or is just a matter of stars? (I have 2 and a half)
Thanks,
DG

I have Rafa's forehand, but most of my skills, including bronze, and silver, are still unlocked. They kind of pop up in a seemingly random way.

To get gold serve for instance you need to unlock bronze THEN silver serve (venus and stitch respectively). It is this way with all abilities. Unlock bronze>silver>gold.

depends how long your matches are at default length i think you get a new skill about once a tournament(if you win every match) so it would take at least 2 years to get 3 gold abilities

For me I think it took about 2 full years to get 3 gold abilities for both my customs, although I never bothered getting the last star for my s&v one.
Do the stars themselves make any difference other than unlocking 2nd and 3rd ability slots?

If you play 3 game sets/1 set matches it will be 3 seasons (Or 12 grand slam tournaments) to get to 5stars (if you increase the number of games per set it will be faster). The bronze/silver/gold skills come with winning legend or challenge matches before the each grand slam starts.

You play better with more stars. You run faster you hit harder etc. etc.

You obviously need 9 Legend duels to get 3x bronze, 3x silver and 3x gold. So if you're lucky and the Legend duels offer you the medals you are stocking up on, plus you always win the first three games per location to get the additional Legend duel, you'd be set with 3 gold abilities when you win the second game of the fifth tournament you play (= first Legend duel of the second season).
This would be rare since you're usually not offered the ideal selection of medals to play for.
Gaining more stars depends on the amount of winners you shoot (= shots the opponent doesn't reach), so the longer the matches, the more winners, the less games you have to play. But I assume playing longer games takes up a similar amount of time as just proceeding to the next match and hitting your winners there, so there's not a big difference effort-wise.

Yeah what I did was play 3game 1setters until I got all 3 gold abilities unlocked then I played 6game 5setters for stars. I guess I'll hafta go back and finish my s&v guy since hes sitting at 4 stars still lol. Only been using him for doubles though so not a big difference that I've noticed yet.
Also, does anyone have any ideas on detailed info for what makes/breaks each type of custom player? I've kind of been wondering if there'd be any advantage over my offensive guy, if I made a defensive one. I realize I'd lose power on the serve but other than that what would change?

You lose power on your shots, but you're faster and have more stamina. Maybe then you'll have the heart to play top 20 players.

I've played a few top 20 players. But so far I'm not impressed with their T camping habits. I'm not good at that style of playing since its so **** boring, once I find that a player plays that way I tend to avoid them, not out of fear of losing (even if I know I will) but just because its not fun. The only ones I'd like to play are Cobras and Brouche since afaik they're both baseline players.

I hate them too and avoid them (I could add A LOT to the gamerplaystyle list). Yesterday we had a nice baseline-based match (I played with a not-top-100-profile ), we started a rematch, but after my first serve nothing moved any more, there was not even a message that informed about a disconnection.

What are your account (both top 100 and the other) names?
But yeah not surprised, I've had some good matches with my other account vs. top 150 players the last few days too (me usually winning since they start lazy since they think oooooo hes only like 850 I don't have to try) lol.
I've used Gotaplanstan since the first match I played online so it has a lot of silly losses like to japanese serve buggers not even in the top 5000 >_< Hence the newer one thats like 65-2 (only 2 losses to top 100s and both tiebreaks). I also have a Nadal account which is ok, I think its like 60-5 or so.
