Just downloaded Dead Space off the EA website...are 1 minute+ loading times normal? This is nuts. I have a quad core with 4 gigs of ram and a fairly fast hard drive...what gives?

Anyone else experiencing this?

46 seconds the first load and 1 min 2 seconds the second load...now its about 1 min 2 seconds each time I die. I don't know if I can cope with that.

Honeslty, Dead Space is the fastest loading high production value game I've ever played. Sub 5 second loading times no matter what. So I don't know what's going on with your system...

I have a quad-core and 8 Gb RAM running Vista x64 on two Raptors in RAID0. All my load times are a few seconds. Loading the game from the menu is roughly 5 seconds and load times between levels when using the tram is only a blink then it's done.

Something seems to be wrong on your end and I think I have read about other people with similar issues.

Have you tried disabling vsync in the game? This has been reported to help for people experiencing these abnormal load times. It also makes the mouse movement much, much smoother.

If you have an nVidia card you can force vsync on in the control panel and it will not negatively affect the game as the in-game option does, which is clearly completely broken.
