Shift 2 issues for PS3
1. Input lag still present after last patch. Not as bad, but still there.
2. Online collision detection is horrible. Cars get knocked around while being 10 feet apart. Some people dont see or "feel" the accident on their end.
3. Freeze and lockups. Sometimes in the menu screens, but mostly on high PI cars while driving fast. Thsi has been duplicated many times on Nords track, and Spa.
The latest patch for the PC fixed these issues, except for the hgih speed freeze. The PS3 is in need of that SAME patch. It was made for all versions PC,Xobx, and PS3, but only released for PC.
Same as above , but with the addition of what i call mini - freezes , whereby the framerate seems to stick briefly then carries on , this happens with all tracks and all cars .
I have other racing games which i play , and NONE of them have these problems

well, dont know if its just my game, but the BMW cars in shift 2 seems alot under prestige.
I mean that i got a BMW 325 coupé 2007 on my parking spot. Its original, and does 160kmh (100mph) on 3rd gear, 225kmh (140,5mph) on 4th, and 255kmh (159mph) on 5th, no problem at all. Its a 6 speed gearbox. The electronic switch make it no faster than 255kmh (159mph) thou.
The problem i got in shift 2, is that the BMW:s are slower, doesnt give out on 4th-6th gear, feels like im driving a BMW 316. Even when i boosted the cars in shift 2, they still doesnt give out what they do IRL. I've driven alot of BMW:s, but none slow as these in shift 2.
And nowadays, they say that Need for speed gonna be realistic and so on, how can they be when obviously, none of the makers have even driven a BMW. Just a little irritated, but hey, lies comes in many forms, especially trying sell games.
Love the old days when u could try a game before buying it. Cos if it were crap, u hadnt put out big bucks for a * game.

The computer racers are really careless, but anyways...
I was expecting some serious improvements with the vinyl editor couldn't really find any.
I was hoping that it would at least climb up to the level of Forza 3 where you can easily move things as much as you want, stretch them a lot and save them to groups to copy and mirror them around. I have a really cool idea for my own livery set but it's really hard to pull it off in this game. Also it would be cool to be able to download sets from other players.
I hope to see more dlc in the future, especially of some newer cars. I love modern cars.

This happens on PC as well....very annoying when my friends and I bought the game with a lot of multiplayer in mind.

For the livery editor, I would suggest a copy and paste function. Just like MCLA, you select any number of vinyls, copy them as a group, then paste them to any side you wish. You should be able to highlight a group of vinyls and move them together as a group. This would make flags easier to do since they weren't included.

I just wanna add one more thing.
I play the game with a steering wheel and it happens on some cars that they keep swaying from side to side when I want to keep them going straight. This is a serious problem which even resulted in a spin out. I can't compete against a computer like this. I had no trouble using the wheel with the 1st game but here it's much much harder to keep the car going the way I want it.
I also wonder if there is some algorithm in the game's code to compromise player's race. On my last race on 2nd lap I've seen a car standing outside the track which drove right into my way. When I recovered using the back button I got t-boned by another racer. I wonder if anyone has similar experience like this. I can certainly name other games where the AI desperately tried to stop me even if it meant breaking its own rules.

Hi guys!
I noticed that when using MLAA anti aliasing in the graphics options in game itself, Anti-Aliasing it is very jagged.
Adjusting only the option to High, the result is much better (well, in my PC)
Do the test and prove it!

I have couple iprovements to livery editor.
First give us able to use our own stickers that are like png, jpeg, etc. Or some shift's own photo type, from usb stick or hard drive. So u can make new stickers with computer. And in online other people can see only the car's base colour.
And second can you give us colour which is exactly same colour as car ( metallic, chrome, flip etc.)
And able to move camera freely in editor, and able to disable the control window.
Those iprovemens would make shift 2 vinyl editor sooo much better, I guess better than Forza?

Since work on Shift 2U is probably done and over with, It would be nice to see many of the Improvements listed here in a Shift #3, that is if we get one(Fingers crossed).
I think that it is a given that We, the buyer, Will never see any multi-play options that will allow us(The room maker) To, Kick/Ban/Keepout the undesireables that WE do not want in our rooms. This more than anything is what has kept me from playing Online with the most recent titles. When your chance to have a clean fun race is ruined by someone whose sole perpose for going into the room is to make sure that the race turns into a demolition derby, basj/crash fest.
Well is it any wonder why the Online portion of this and some previous titles are completely DEAD and Empty???
Also I see a lot of Haters blaming SMS for much of what they see as wrong. If you are going to blame someone then make sure that you are blaming the right people because I am fairly sure that SMS has no real/legal choice in the matter. SMS is Listening BUTT, They cannot do ANYTHING at all without EA'$ approval when it comes to the Shift Franchise.
Thus ends this post.

One thing I think this game needs is to let you know whether you're disqualified on a lap for a certain driving goal (i.e. Clean Lap, Lead for One Lap, Beat xx x). I think this is necessary particularly for the Nurburgring Nordschleife since I don't want to run a full lap to find out I didn't do a clean lap. Also, some tracks allow a lot of leeway, I think, for putting together a clean lap and a little pop-up or something telling me I that I'm not on track anymore for a clean lap would be helpful.

1) Some kind of indication when I'm disqualified from setting a certain driving goal (i.e. Clean Lap, Lead for One Lap, Beat xx x). It's terrible that during some races, particularly the Nordschleife, I don't know whether I've cut the cut too much or if I MAYBE tapped another car and I've been disqualified from putting together a clean lap - the only way I can find out is to finish the race, which on the Nordschleife is obviously a loooooong time (compared to other tracks).
2) For PC, have a little meter in the advanced controls menu showing me the sensitivity of the triggers and analog sticks. I like to change the sensitivity of the controls and the only way I can find out is to go into a race, but that's a big bother compared to having a meter of some sort in the options that lets me see how much I'm pressing the trigger/moving the analog stick.

I see that my las post in this topic has been deleted/removed. Probably because the forum Moderators did not like what I said.
So much for being able to express one's opinion here.
I didn't even use offensive language.
