Well, here it is. We're basically 1.5 months into the game and this game has turned into NHL 09.1 Patch. The curveshot (gone, thankfully) has now been replaced by a deking sequence + toe drag wrister. The wraparound, though improved is still a questionable goal.

Thanks EA, for taking out most of the old glitches but seriously? Why are these new ones starting to hit the spotlight? Didn't you promise for 200 new goalie animations? Yes, I appreciate that the goalie flails to try to stop pucks but if the goalie is lying on the ground, trying to get the puck off the goal line, he doesn't! Yesterday we played a game where the puck sat on the goal line, the goalie sat in front of it on his * and sat there while we waited for the final seconds to tick down, only to be screwed by collision detection when the guy poke checked through our goalies body to score the goal.

I'm not here to complain, I'm here to state facts. These new goalie animations, though very cool sometimes, are mostly the goalie flailing on the ice or on the ground. The area of focus should have been training the AI to challenge the wraparounds and curveshots correctly. I'm disappointed by this rebirth of glitches as my team and I played a good 4 weeks of hockey only to lose a lot of progress to these glitchers.

I agree 100%. EA promised all this crap about NHL10 being glitch free and that goalie AI was going to be soo good and all this crap. Yet they are horrible. Why do goalies throw the puck out now (even when nobody calls for the pass)? Whos brilliant idea was that? Why dont goalies play the puck when they should? What happened to improved goalie AI? I see a bunch of band-aid solutions, a bunch of crap. I see the same game engine with similar bugs and glitches, with new helmets, jerseys & animations.

What's interesting to me is that EA actually managed to address some of the easier glitch goals to score -- but those glitch goals (such as the bottom of the circle five hole wrister, and the near-the-dot short side top shelf one) weren't really used all that often.

The most often used goals are the ones you describe - the deke/toe drag wrister goal, and the "new curve shot", which does require traffic but is far too easy to score and is conceptually the same thing as the old curve shot. It can be scored in several ways from several locations, and is much harder to defend this year because of the particular locations, etc. Even if you play great positional D, it's hard to defend 100% of the time, because if you miss a check or a shot block, you are probably providing exactly the necessary traffic required to score the goal.

I think they increased the effect screening a goalie has on his reaction time this year, that might be the reason the deke/shot move works so well. Personally I havent seen to many "glitch" goals yet and it doesnt seem there is a guarenteed goal spot on the ice.

It's funny how EA was boasting about all these 200+ new animations but the fundamentals of goaltending still seem to be a mystery to them.

I know they wanted to make the goalies more aggressive and all that, but how does one program a goalie to come out wayyyyyyyyy too far from his net and at such bad angles? The 'new' curveshot should hardly ever go in without traffic infront at the very least, but it does, and it does at ridiculous distances both in the air and along the ice no matter what speed the shot is taken at. Nice job.

NHL09 - Top 200
NHL10 - Top 50
NHL11 - Top 10
NHL12 - Meh
The only way not to complain about this game is to not play it

You must not be playing as much EASHL as I do.

I'd say about 1/2 of teams we face now are trying these shots all game long. There are definitely guaranteed spots on the ice if they execute the shot properly and nobody blocks it.

I hate to say this, but you can look at a certain stat that teams have and pretty accurately tell if they're glitchers or not... I've seen very few legit teams with that stat in a high place.

Its very frustrating we played two team that all the would to his the new "curve shot" one team nailed it about 75% of the time while the other team wasnt able to get the goal in. Now both team we out played and out shot the difference was the goals the team got with that particular shot. The game was great in the first few weeks but now it is getting worse with every tuner or patch IMO.

I totally agree that the tuning & tweaks they have made, have the game kind of playing stupid, the puck deflects all over the place bounces all over the place, you can't seem to make goal mouth plays even when a guy is wide open, it gets tipped away, too often, rap a rounds are unrealistic in every way. yes they do happen in the real game , but not this. there's more that I can't think of right now.

The worst part is after it takes them about a thousand tries to get the goal they watch the whole replay after like they think there good. I remember one team that my club faced said they glitched because our computer tried to glitch them. These kids are pathetic. I know it's easy to defend, but it gets annoying and boring when all you do all game is stop the same shot over and over.

Guys, come on be reasonable.
This is like expecting you all to know what the next part that is going to break down on your car will be.
The best EA can do is make things that stop known glitches (which i'm hearing they did for the most part) and try to program things so that future glitches will be avoided.
But do you all seriously expect them to be able to see what's going to be used and abused in the future?
Come on.
Now let's just hope they fix them in future patches.
Why is everyone on this forum so quick to jump to conclusions and act like they know everything about programming?

Could not agree more with this post. I kick a kick out of those who say "learn to play defense". Well, I do play defense and do have my legend card and I can honestly say that playing against a non-glitching team and LOSING is 10 times more fun than playing against a glitching team and WINNING.

Seriously, I work 8 to 9 hours a day and trying to defend these glitchers feels more like work than my real job does. Believe me, I am not bad mouthing the game. LOVE THE GAME! I just have no use for the glitching fools.

This whining about online glitch crap needs to be moved to it's own section. So sick of reading posts from online guys whining about glitches that doen't exist.

Offliner's don't have any problems but trying to get goals!

Sheesh - some cheese with that whine.

Then dont read them.

I will voice my opinion, and create discussion, as thats what these forums are for.

So no, I wont stop posting about glitch goals, or bugs, or exploits. I will bring them to EA's attention, and will continue to do so, or else how can I expect EA to fix anything?

OH, they exist, that is why I am going back to more offline.... I think everyone has a right to voice their opinion good, bad or indifferent... I agree with the guy that said, DON'T READ THEM... If you know it is a glitch goal thread, move on... But don't say they don't exist, especially if all you do is play offline and don't see the few players that do the same thing over and over again in OTP, because glitch goals do and have existed every year in online play... Just sayin'

The goalies have improved in some areas but I have lost track of how many little floater shots or rebounds off the back boards seem to slowly trickle past the goalie and he just stands there and watches the puck.
