Just bought a new laptop with 17.3 widescreen. Need a step by step explanation how to get widescreen into game. Found a few things online but none seem to work. Found the universal widescreen patch but cant get it to work either. Seems to me that the patch probably works however with my limited pc skills I cant seem to get it to work. Can somebody that has gotten widescreen to work please explain this to me in as simplistic terms as possible? Thanks much. Any input highly appreciated.

set your game resolution to 800x600 and leave it. Open patcher and in drop down game menu look for the tw 2004 custom game then under folder look for the TW 08 bin folder highlight it (will be where you installed the game) and then enter the new resolution you want and then click patch, should work just dont change the resolution in the game from 800x600.

Interesting - Where can I find the universal widescreen patch? Is it possible to run TW 08 in a resolution of 1920 x 1080 with it?

When I give it a try I will post if I managed to switch TW08 to full-HD / 1080...

Keep in mind you will not get 1920x1080 as an otion in game. You will need to select 800x600 more than likely to get 1920x1080.......

Is there anyone who already tried this and if so, is there a (big) difference towards the 1680x1050 res.?
